Turkey Hollow is nestled in the rolling hills of Holmes County Ohio. We are right on the edge of the largest Amish settlement in the nation. The primitive campground is in the corner of a small 40 acre farm owned by Matt Polcyn. He started the campground 8 years ago because of his love for nature and real camping. He enjoys traveling in many places in the States and the Caribbean islands and loves finding places off of the beaten path and not commercialized. Because of his interest and love for primitive camping he decided to open the campground in order to provide the same opportunity as a getaway primitive camping location that he tries to find when he travels.
We now just added a in the trees, warm water rinse off area.

Thanks to the excellent air and water quality, salamanders and toads also thrive here—though they may take a little searching to spot. During the day, the dappled light makes the site feel magical.
The campsite includes a furnished yurt with a bed, fold-out couch, chair, table, and beverage bar for coffee, tea, and water. Propane burners and utensils are provided for cooking, along with an open-fire grill (removable from the fire pit if needed).
The outhouse features a composting toilet, a wash area for hands and face, basic hygiene products, and potable water. Additional potable water is also available in the yurt. A dining table with chairs is provided, and plenty of firewood and kindling are stocked for your stay. Solar lights along the trail, on the outhouse, and on the yurt create a warm, cozy atmosphere at night.
This property is conveniently located within 20 minutes of the UNESCO World Heritage Hopewell Mound sites, Legend Valley, and Buckeye Lake (30 minutes), as well as OSU Newark, Denison University, the Longaberger Basket Building, and Dawes Arboretum. Grocery stores and restaurants are nearby, with a gas station and mini market just half a mile down the road. Columbus city center is about a 45–50 minute drive.
The drive here follows scenic country roads, so please be mindful of winding turns and local wildlife along the way. While visiting, you may hear or see our chickens and pups, though they stay close to the house.

Weekend Trip to At Whispering Pines Ringgold
Awesome little cabin. My girlfriend and I are used to car camping so this was a huge upgrade haha but the cabin is everything that you need on a camping trip. A place to stay out of the elements, a bathroom, a couple of beds, and a little bit of land to yourself. Nothing overboard and everything you need. Worth noting; the owner was very on top of responding back. Very polite and definitely put a lot of thought into the guests with the cabin. Definitely recommend!

We had a great stay at one of the cabins on Matt’s property. It got a little cold one night but nothing we couldn’t handle. Had a very nice campfire that kept us warm! We hope to get back there again next year!

2 nights at Deer Haven Secluded Cabin
Deer Haven is a WONDERFUL property! Brent literally has just about everything you will need during your stay in the cabin. It is secluded, peaceful and clean! Every morning you walk outside to a picture perfect view. We caught and released some bass, bluegill and more out of the pond, the trails around the property have a clear path to walk through and the hot tub was very clean and relaxing. We throughly enjoyed our time here and we are already planning our next stay at Deer Haven!
A huge thank you to Brent and his cleaning crew for everything! We can’t wait to go back!

Weekend Trip to The Turkey Hollow Campground
This was a wonderful location! We used infrared and night vision plus Heat sensors down in the hollow looking for Bigfoot. Had a great fire at the fire pit. Spent Saturday at the Bigfoot Conference. Drove over to salt fork state forest - packed like sardines there vs turkey Hollow - never felt crowded. Will definitely return. There is electrical and one light inside the cabin - didn’t have to use my ECOFLOW. Bring your cot or rollout matt - plenty of room. Approx 16x16 cabinets with porch. Outside there are plenty of trees for hammocks as well. Two port a John’s to choose from and water outside the cabin. Again, I will be back! Thx … this was a great accidental find. The Seabee Clem

A beautiful and quiet place, would definitely recommend staying here! The cabin was clean and cozy. I would recommend parking near the first campground where the wood is and not by your cabin unless you have 4wheel drive because the hill is quite steep. I definitely plan to stay here again!

We absolutely loved camping out at Turkey Hollow! This campground was so quiet and peaceful. The land was beautiful and there was tons of things to do to keep us busy. Our time here went way to fast but we will definitely be booking again & again! We had no complaints what so ever and can't wait to come back. The nature is beautiful and the sky at night is stunning to say the least. If your looking for a quiet, peaceful, & beautiful place to get away, I highly recommend this campground. Its a beautiful escape from reality. This campground is easy to book, affordable, and was really clean and chill. A+ from us !! Hot water ✔️ Toilet ✔️ Wash station ✔️ All you have to do now is book your stay and start making memories 😀 lol We look forward to coming back!!

Me and a couple friends stayed for a night in the cabins, it’s a pretty area and relatively quiet! there is a bit of construction during the days but you really don’t notice it. Also the gravel roads are a bit bumpy but that’s to be expected, all in all a successful trip.

Weekend Trip to The Turkey Hollow Campground
It was nice, quiet, and relaxing. My husband and I enjoyed staying in the clean cabin and canoeing on the pond. Make sure to bring an extension cord as there is no electricity in the cabins, but there's an outlet outside. So we went to Walmart which was a short drive away, for a 100 ft. cord, which was needed for the Poplar cabin. The other cabin is closer to the outlet.
The cabins have a deck for you to sit on with privacy. Be sure to bring your chairs.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay! It was great!

Great cabins. I would suggest renting both and maybe the Kermit’s bottom campground outside for a memorable large gathering. Sweet location. Never found the shower though. I’m sure it’s there somewhere within the trees, but it was invisible to us.

Beautiful camp ground. There’s a pond you can fish in and there’s a 4 person kayak that is a ton of fun. The two small cabins we stayed in were perfect. The experience was well worth it. I’d recommend getting thee two cabins along with the meadow at the bottom of the hill (Kermit’s bottom) for large get-togethers. The only negative thing was that we couldn’t find the shower and didn’t have anybody that we could ask where it was. Great time if you’re looking for a secluded camping stay.

It was an amazing and enjoyable trip to just relax and take in nature. We fished in the pond and the grandkids loved it. Downfall is that the porta potty’s were FULL. Glad we brought a bucket potty and we have an outdoor shower tent so we were looking forward to a hot shower but the insta hot would not work so cold shower just to get mud off. Great place and would return and recommend to everyone.

We loved this cabin. With the porch on two sides of the cabin, the fire pit area and picnic table there are plenty of cool spots to hang out and relax. Had fun playing horseshoes too. There are two comfortable queen beds and a small couch that pulls out into a twin bed as well. The kitchen had what we needed and between the electric fireplace and the ceiling fans and AC you will never get too hot or cold. Thanks for a great stay Chad. I appreciated how quickly you answered our questions. We will be back

We loved the geo dome. It was our first experience staying in one. The space had everything, including wine/chocolates waiting for us. The space was very cozy and clean. We stayed for 2 nights, enjoyed the view from inside. There is a wonderful hot tub which we loved after a long hike at near by Hocking Hills State Park. I would highly recommend coming and staying at this unique and romantic site. Brent was an excellent host. It was as though we were in a 5 star hotel. He thought of everything and it is decorated so cute!
