We have lived here since 2004, the blueberries have lived here for over 60 years. This site has more topography than most of the surrounding county. Learn more about this land: Several sites available on an organic blueberry farm near Oberlin College and Lake Erie. Blueberries are ripe in July. Site #2 is down by the Chance Creek, about 1/2 mile from the driveway. Very peaceful down there - a walk-in site.  Site #1  is about 100 yards from the driveway, Site #1 also has access to a small shed.  Both sites are woodsy and away from neighbors, roads and houses, however the interstate is not far. When the wind blows from the north you can barely hear it, but when a south wind blows and/or there is rain on the interstate, it can be pretty loud. We don't have a latrine. We have two "luggable-loo's" if you need them, have liners, too.

Weekend Trip to Thornhill Bluff

Hot tent camped the weekend at Gary and Audrey's, Thornhill Bluff campsite with our 2 dogs! Short little walk to a secluded campsite at the top of the bluff. Along the trail are strung lights to help guide you back and light the site up! The site is large and accommodating for the space that I needed. (12ft diameter tipi hot tent, could definitely accommodate larger!) Fire ring at site and enough wood for anyone who stays. Two wood benches for seating at site. Bathroom is up at the house, but available at all times! Clean and a wonderful amenity to have! Absolutely beautiful views in any direction on the Bluff. We hiked along the bluff to check out the steep ravine that leads down to the Sand Run Metro Park. Took a couple rides down the Zipline in the back yard, where there are also trampolines, a private pond and some other fun amenities we haven't checked out yet! Our hosts were amazing, the camping was phenomenal, thank you Gary and Audrey!

I absolutely loved the area. Bo was very nice. The scenery and the camp sites were really cool. My only thing (which was kinda on me) was I was unable to get a fire started because I came in the wet season. But spring and summer would be a whole different experience! Would definitely come back!

3 nights at Thornhill Bluff

Stayed for the weekend and celebrated a fall crafting camp themed around the change in fall season and the creatures that lurk. Our reservation was made for a group only a few days before our 4 night stay. Gary was very fast with communication and we were happy with the reservation. Gary accommodated us when we arrived a day earlier by mistake (inquired about Wednesday-Sunday night but accidentally booked Thursday-Sunday only). The bathroom is convenient and hot water was a game changer for camping. The property is beautiful, the zipline is an added bonus, and Gary was awesome!

For those that can't get by without a shower this is great. The basement level of the cabin has all the house essentials, but you still get to stay in a tent or rv for everything else associated with camping. Our dog enjoyed being off leash at the property and we loves being the only ones there.

We stayed up at the site near the shed. Both little camping areas were great, and they were tucked in the woods enough for privacy from people and other campers. The property itself is gorgeous. We spend a lot of time at and in the creek. It was very clean water and incredibly refreshing in the summer heat. The blueberries are divine!

Weekend Trip to Camp near the Portage Lakes

We had a pleasant stay at the campsite. Check in was easy and Joe was there to meet us when we arrived. The grass in the campsite was long, which made using the campsite a little harder but it was manageable. As the host mentioned, this campsite is directly under a large set of power lines, so there is a slight humming noise most of the time you’re there but if that doesn’t bother you then this is a great place to stay! The driveway to get to the site is a grassy road, but access is easy enough. The site itself is somewhat isolated and quite large, with trees on the sides. Be aware that the site is mostly comprised of uneven ground so setting up a large tent could prove challenging, although we didn’t really run into any issues with the tent we have.

My friend and I felt very comfortable staying here! The host was welcoming and there right when we arrived to guide us on where to go. Great communication through the app as well. Would recommend to anyone coming for Cuyahoga National Park or Portage Lake.
