This was a special gem ; like no other ,more like a scene from a children’s book , because it was so beautiful. The energy was peace. That’s his name. I don’t know what the hell their name is. The hospitality was outstanding. From the host , very kind people. Nice and clean.

It was a really nice place and they were really chill. I just pulled up to my site, and nobody bothered me all night it was quite nice to have the solitude and nice to feel trusted as well. A feeling you don’t get often

The site was amazing, private and filled with nature! We loved the bison and being able to get away from the city for a night easily with the accommodations, a kitchen area and inside the tipi is so nice!

We had the best time! The camping area is really clean and trails well kept. We cooked Buffalo steaks and brauts over the fire for dinner. The Tipi stayed relatively cool despite the near 80 degrees and Carie provided a battery operated fan to move the air around. We ventured in to town for ice cream at Hank and Stella’s - delicious!
Highly recommend staying at the Tipi. Thanks Carie for the hospitality!

Weekend Trip to Cherokee Valley Bison Ranch Creekside Retreat
Such a relaxing trip. Everything was perfect. Wash station was such a treat! Loved the songs of the peacocks, such a great experience. Can't wait to go back!

We had a great time! Cabin was clean and nice. The shower is good and hot despite its appearance, and a new shower hut is in progress. The area is very green, pretty, and quiet. Great kids area too. We stayed in the Moose Lodge, but would definitely try the Bear another time.

Spent a weekend at the Ranch for my son’s 8th birthday. The kids absolutely loved playing in the creek. My son was also excited to earn his bison badge for Cub Scouts! Carie was very informative and we learned so much. Would love to go back in the fall.

I stopped in at Hilltop for one night with my pup along a road trip and we had a great time. The tent was super cute and cozy. Loved the little porch. Very clean bathroom facilities too. If we are ever in the area again, we would definitely come back!

We had an amazing time here! The bison tipi was perfect for us and our dogs. The bison tipi had the perfect set up for hammocks to sit back and relax. I would highly recommend this location. It also allows for a good amount of privacy from the other campers. Thank you for the stay!

The tipi and the land around it was amazing. We had everything we needed. Carie’s husband was very helpful when we arrived; I’m also so glad Carie was thoughtful enough to have us change tipi’s d/t the rain on our first night. Despite a little dampness, we stayed nice and warm.

A beautiful setting and a wonderful setup! Carie is a great and responsive host, and she and her husband have created a lovely retreat. The tipis are spacious and so well maintained. There’s a fire pit and picnic table, and she included some basics for cooking. And the sights and sounds of the ranch are delightful! Low grunts from the bison, silly calls from the peacocks, and all sorts of birds and other wildlife. Highly recommend staying here!

Weekend Trip to Hilltop Resorts and Campgrounds
The campground isn’t an excellent location in Logan Ohio. It’s about a 10 minute drive to Hocking Hills trails. We like that there was a little bit of a walking trail area in the campground and that we could rent canoes there. The staff is incredibly friendly, especially Karin. They are very accommodating and easy to work with. The kids loved the playground and the bouncy pad and the mini golf. The campground was clean and quiet. We all had a great time.

We had never camped with our baby (or at all!) and Carie’s tipis were the best introduction to camping. She was super responsive, friendly, and answered all of our (many) questions about the bison and the farm. Campsites were so peaceful and well kept. Carie had thought of everything with supplies, which made the night a breeze. Loved it! We’ll be back, with friends!

My wife and I had an absolutely wonderful time in Carie’s teepee! The land is beautiful, the animals are fantastic and Carie goes far above and beyond for those who chose to stay at her property. Would recommend 100%, what a fantastic experience.

Weekend Trip to Cherokee Valley Bison Ranch Creekside Retreat
Got away from the city for the night and ended up here in Thornville, OH, 10 minutes away from Buckeye Lake. Stayed at this working bison ranch in their White Tail Tipi and it was a relaxing stay. The farm was scenic and the bison burgers were delicious. Carrie was a great host and everything was at the camp that you would need to be comfortable. Recommend this for anyone looking to get away from their normally busy lives & needs relaxation/peace.
Can’t wait to stay again!
