The site is located on the scenic Missouri River 10 miles north of Bismarck and two hours west of Theodore Roosevelt National Park and and the newly opened TR Presidential library. Availanle sites include a waterfront location that can accommodate either 30 or 50 amp hookups and a second location just off the water that accommodates a 50 amp hookup. Two primitive sites are also available. All sites have access to potable water.
Towering cottonwood trees surround the sites, which are located on a maintained lawn. Hipcampers are welcome to use the two kayaks on site, and the host is willing to assist with transportation of kayaks. We are located just 15 minutes from Bismarck, ND, and Costco, Walmart, restaurants and add’l shopping are just minutes away.
In addition to kayaking, Hipcampers can enjoy scenic drives, hiking, road biking, access to sandbars, a huge open yard, fire pit, hundreds of cottonwood trees, and beautiful sunsets. There is a pool and hot tub onsite which is accessible for an additional fee. Great walleye fishing and bird watching are also available.

Additionally, the massive Garrison Dam diversion project features one of the largest man-made earth dams in the world located just minutes from the ranch. The dam features a fish hatchery and regular tours.

This is my private farmyard located about 5 miles outside of town. I own 10 acres, of which I keep about 3 acres mowed; this is what I call the yard.
There are multiple places you can choose from to set up camp. However, if you have a camper and need electricity, I only have one 50-amp outlet available.
There is a spot for bonfires, weather permitting, and I have plenty of firewood. I also have a pool set up during the summer that guests can use on hot days.
It’s very peaceful out here, and many people have said they enjoy it because it’s easy to forget about their hectic lives and simply enjoy their time here. If you’re a hunter, there are usually lots of ducks and geese around in the fall.
I’m only charging $10, but if money is tight, it could be less. Weekends work best for me, but other days may be possible as well; we would just need to work it out.
Feel free to use my kitchen, washer and dryer, and bathroom. The door will be unlocked while you are here. In the event of bad weather, you are welcome to come inside the house or garage.
Please note: This is a clothing-optional campsite. I am a nudist, so guests should be comfortable with this type of environment. Guests must be 18 or older.

This is a very nice and quiet spot for our four night stay. It was a perfect base camp to run into Dickinson to see our son, go to Big Sticks games, and visit some local eateries. We spent a day in TR National Park and visited the new Presidential Library (highly recommended- advance tickets required).
The weather ranged from 100 degrees when we got there to 40 degrees in the morning two days later. We had some rain and wind and our host was nice enough to leave a note checking in to make sure everything was ok.
There is a friendly resident cat that unfortunately our dog didn’t love. But it was no problem. She just stayed away.
We arrived in the dark, but the directions were good and the site is well marked (with directions).
Perfect for a one night stop over or extended stay if you are self contained (the Dickinson Community center is really nice and has showers 😁).

I was pleased to be able to submit a same-day request relatively late in the day with prompt response and have outstanding instructions provided, including a YouTube video that guided me precisely to where I needed to go. Given that I arrived very late at night this was tremendously helpful! Unfortunately, the winery wasn’t open the day that I was there, but the coffee shop was and the cinnamon roll and coffee were great, but more importantly the server, Sue Ann was tremendously friendly, engaging and a pleasure with whom to speak.

This is a fabulous place to camp! Christina is a gracious and accommodating host. You can park a small trailer or tent right alongside the river or a larger rig back in the trees by the berm. 50&30 amp available, as well as water. Such a gorgeous view of the sunset over the Missouri! My dogs were approved by her Corgis and got to romp off-leash with them. Can’t say enough good things about this beautiful property!

Theodore Roosevelt National Park
If you travel through North Dakota, stop to experience Theodore Roosevelt National Park, a treasure that should be high on the list of every national park enthusiast. The badlands are stunning with unique geological features, canyons, water, trails, and some of America’s most incredible native wildlife. The trail systems are some of the best in the country, and mountain bikers will find extensive single track. Hiking trails and scenic drives make it possible to catch the park’s best views from additional vantage points.
Grahams Island State Park
With nearly 1,000 acres on its lakeshore, Devil’s Lake is recognized as one of the best fisheries in the state and a hot spot for anglers visiting to compete in tournaments. The boat ramps make it an ideal lake for campers bringing watercraft, while the Grahams Lake campground has both primitive sites and others with full hookups, bathroom access, and potable water. Trail systems are perfect for hiking through the woods and along the lakeshore.
Sully Creek State Park
On the Little Missouri River south of Medora, Sully Creek State Park combines rivers and cliffs in a dramatic Badlands scene. The river flows rise during spring, when visitors come to canoe through the scenic canyons and bottomlands. Exploring the trails on foot or horseback are also popular here. Situated just outside of Theodore Roosevelt National Park, the Sully Creek campground is perfect for exploring the wider area.
Turtle River State Park
Staying on theme with the excellent range of state parks in North Dakota, this one is located near the Minnesota border, where Grand Forks and the small community of Arvilla serve as easy starting points. The Turtle River offers great trout fishing throughout summer and fall, while 11 park trails are managed for hiking and biking during summer and cross-country skiing in winter. Primitive Turtle Creek campsites are abundant, and others feature space for groups or electricity and water hookups. Overall, this is an idyllic park in the eastern part of the state.
When to go
North Dakota has four seasons of fun and visiting really depends on your specific desires. Late spring is often nice and mellow with quiet parks to visit, and as summer arrives, the heat and humidity are elevated but the cold-water lakes and rivers offer refuge. Summer hiking, biking, and boating make for a ton of camping fun in North Dakota. Fall might be the best season to visit, especially for hunters, but by the time winter arrives, the state is bitterly cold, which draws those looking for cross-country skiing and snowboarding.
