Noreen was incredibly sweet and super helpful for the next day forecast and best routes to navigate the next couple of days. Wonderful bread and eggs, perfect for a quick breakfast as we left at the crack of day for our RV service.

Swan Lake Resort and Campground was the perfect escape for our family. From the moment we arrived, the peaceful atmosphere wrapped around us — quiet mornings with birdsong, calm lake breezes, and spacious campsites that gave everyone room to breathe. One of the best parts was the uninterrupted stillness during the day and especially in the evenings. Thanks to the thoughtful layout and generously sized slots, there was very little noise or commotion from neighboring campers, which made it easy to truly relax.
The staff were incredibly kind and attentive — when my son crashed his bike, they didn’t hesitate to help with his wounds, showing genuine care that meant a lot to us. Their flexibility with boat rentals was also a gift; they rolled with our shifting plans and even a last-minute cancellation when the kids hit a moody streak on our final day.
We loved the honor-system store, where you could grab a snack or drink from the fridge or shelves and simply jot it down for later billing. It felt like a place built on trust and community. And scattered throughout the grounds were these amazing tree carvings — almost like totem poles — that added a touch of rustic artistry and whimsy to the landscape.
This wasn’t just a campground — it was a place where we felt cared for, connected, and free to enjoy the simple joy. We will definitely be going back.

We loved our experience at Doubting Thomas! Noreen was an excellent host, very welcoming and super engaging. We really enjoyed hearing about her work and the farm and got excellent recommendations for fun things to do during our visit to Fargo. The spot is beautiful, excellent star-gazing at night, and fun to see the chickens running around. We will definitely be back on our next trip up there!

We stayed here with another family and had a ton of fun. We had a 27’ travel trailer and they had an ice castle. It wasn’t too bad to get them both situated and set up. Kids had a blast running around and biking up and down the long driveway. Very close and convenient to downtown DL for something to do. Quiet area, with minimal neighbors. Picnic table and fire pit were nice add one. Everything listed worked well and there were no surprises.

Noreen was a WONDERFUL host! She welcomed us with a dozen eggs accompanied by her guardian dog, Max (who is super friendly as well!). She helped us get settled, had a clean Porto potty, educated some on her farming practices, and pointed us in a good direction to stretch our legs after the long drive. Definitely recommend!

I loved tent camping with my young children here! The hidden seclusion of this site was wonderful. The bathroom was in easy reach though not right next to the spot. The rock bed around the fire entertained children for hours. I did have to follow the instructions with some faith to find the spot, it's very hidden and no gravel road. If my tent wasn't so huge you'd never have known we were there. Grass was clean and soft for putting up the tent. Heard frogs all night and birds all morning.

Such a lovely stay! Beautiful farm lands and felt very safe. Noreen was such a sweet host that went above and beyond with welcoming us, showing us around the farm, and giving us some delicious fresh home baked bread with organic farm fresh eggs for breakfast. What a treat this stay was. Highly recommend!

Awesome little getaway close to Maplewood State Park, perfect for our small little family. Appreciate the privacy, though it is a bit closer to the residence than maybe depicted, still an awesome night. Thistle in and around the fire pit was kinda nasty, but a quick cleanup. Firewood is listed as an amenity, however after purchase- no wood was available. Overall, great little site for a quick trip! Thanks Chad
