The Saxapahaw Country Club is a beautiful 31-acre working farm and event space. Guests are welcome to wander the fields, relax in the hammocks, fish the stocked pond, or enjoy the giant swing suspended from the branches of our 200-year-old white oak tree.
The Country Club is an ideal spot for a quiet evening under the stars, a peaceful retreat after shows at the Haw River Ballroom, or a basecamp for exploring the river, shops, and restaurants of Saxapahaw. Chapel Hill, Mebane, Hillsborough, and Pittsboro are all just a short drive away.
In addition to camping, we host weddings, reunions, retreats, corporate functions, and other private events, as well as public gatherings throughout the year. As a membership club, we offer members special perks along with opportunities to connect, socialize, and enjoy the "country-club" lifestyle. On arrival you'll come down our curvy driveway through the trees, and see our event barn on the left. To the barn's side is a communal space for campers to enjoy with a great view. This area has a wood-fired grill and farm table, with a handwashing station out front. The shared outhouse/composting toilet is next to the pine stand with a white roof.
We have sheep, pigs and a donkey rotating through pastures behind electric fencing. Take a walk to say hello, but don't touch the fence! We also have 3 very friendly farm cats.
Pork and lamb from our farm (as well as kiln-dried firewood) is available for purchase at our farm store.

With kids
We stayed at this cabin at Holly Forest for a few nights over thanksgiving. The cabin held our little family (2 adults 2 young kids) well on the loft bed and the pull-out couch. The grounds are beautiful and we had a ton of fun at the basketball court and the field next to it. We cooked food in the provided toaster oven/air fryer but could have easily used the common area equipment too (grill, griddle pan, pizza oven). Hosts were responsive to our needs. Bathrooms were clean and close to our cabin. We would come back!

We stayed at the screen house for one night and wish we could have stayed another night. The screen house itself was top notch… secluded yet close to the main area, clean, well maintained, and cozy. Jim and Becky did a great job of adding conveniences to the experience with heated beds, battery for charging, lighting, cooler with ice, bathhouse, cooking area with seating, and more. There are a few different options for accommodations including glamping tent, screen houses, and a cute little cabin with a loft. This is a great place for a group. They can cook together and enjoy the community space, very cozy. We will be back.

I loved the little screen house "The Retreat" that my wife and I stayed in! It was amazingly beautiful from the clear roof to the full open concept. Don't get me wrong there were privacy and blackout curtains to draw for privacy lol. Jim and Becky and their family are just amazing, and so is the property. Everything is so easy and convenient not to mention your own golf cart to wonder around on and get back forth from your place to the bathroom's, and the gathering place. They have a bull that is a BBQ grill and the smoke comes out of the nose, a long with a pizza oven a gas grill and flat top at your disposal. They also have some items there that you can purchase like pizza kits and wood, ect. They also host events and weddings!! All of their rentals are spread out for privacy of each other.

I loved “The Retreat” on Jim & Becky’s land. This site is like a “camping venue” I can envision a small wedding or a couples trip here. They have a gas grill if you don’t know how to charcoal grill and the shower gets really hot. I like how they also inform us if there are others staying anywhere else in any of the other cabins so it helped give others privacy and not explore “too far”.

What a hidden diamond in a heart of North Carolina! If you want to relax and re-energise, this place is for you! All cabins are well made to fit any need or taste! Glass cabins are the best! You sleep deep in a woods! Full emersion into the nature!
Owners of the who farm are very thoughtful people! You can check out farm animals, go fishing or have a complimentary cup of coffe in a barn house equipped with great kitchen, self barbecue café, get a dozen of real farm fresh fresh eggs for breakfast!
There is a nicely equipped bathrooms and shower rooms.
Also, they have a gorgeous rustic Wedding venue, gorgeous pond for fishing. There are a nice golf carts to get around the farm, to bring your belongings to the house. Also, beautifully squired barbecue by each house, How about spending a night by a starry sky?
The bottom line-the best retreat ever! Great management. And a great spot for any romantic event or family reunion! Come, bring your friends, family, and kids!

This was a great experience. I needed to get away and be one with nature and this was perfect. The accommodations were wonderful and everything was right where I needed to be with the privacy I needed. I was able to reset myself and find the calm that only exists in a natural beautiful setting. I was so relaxed and able to truly find my joy and peace. The cabin being screened in helped keep out the critters and let the nature vibes in. I would highly recommend this place to reconnect with Nature and find your inner peace.

Weekend Trip to Kerr Lake Glamping at Holly Forest
So much love, creativity, and care has gone into building this very special place to stay, rest and play. I stopped for just one night on my way from Fl to upstate NY, and had a magical and restorative night's sleep in one of the unique and lovely screen houses. Lightning bugs all around, illuminating the forest, and I was sung to sleep by crickets and tree frogs. A battery-powered ceiling fan kept the air moving and everything was nice and clean and fresh and inviting. Lots of thoughtful and clever touches, impressive construction and spacious, considerate setup. the bathroom, showers, and parking are a bit of a walk so each dwelling comes with a golf cart that you can use the whole time you're there.
They've just opened in May so everything is brand new. I enjoyed and appreciated it immensely, and will come back any chance I get.
I can only imagine what will go into maintaining a place like this, and I hope that they can keep it going and that future guests will get to enjoy it and also have respect for what a special place it is. I guess Jim & Becky have built it with their own family gatherings in mind, and there is definitely that sense of embracing, welcoming hospitality and generosity about it. It's a very beautiful piece of property and it looks like they might be equipped for events such as weddings, which would make sense there.
