Welcome to Oak Grove - a property with a 100 year old de-consecrated Episcopal church, beautiful woods, and amazing grandfather oaks. A common site for weddings, drum circles, and other metaphysical and spiritual happenings, the property has a labyrinth, a free expression chalkboard, a Zen sand box that are free to use.
A short walk down the wooded trail brings you to a small clearing with a central fire pit and several areas suitable for a tent. Situated close to a road, traffic can be heard but easily tuned out, particularly as the road gets much quieter at night. The woods are next to a large open field that is great for star gazing. Bring your hammock!

Hi there! The Cozy Heron is an 𝙞𝙣-𝙩𝙤𝙬𝙣, riverside glamping resort. Noises of traffic from nearby highway is audible. Each wagon is equipped with calming sound machines that also double as bluetooth speakers to assist guests who may be bothered by sounds of nearby traffic. We currently have five covered wagons and one bath house. The property offers a community stone patio, firepit, grilling area, and large expansive lawn. The upper Cape Fear River flows below the property and Adirondack chairs and a few hammocks are conveniently located around the wagons and entire property for relaxation and pretty views!
The Cozy Heron property shares borders a very popular seasonal river outfitter (Cape Fear River Adventures in Lillington, NC). Cape Fear River Adventures offers paddling classes, summer day camp, canoe/kayak/SUP rentals, and river tubing.
Just a quick 2 minute walk from your covered wagon will also bring you to an on-site restaurant and bar: The Riverside Restaurant & Bar. The Riverside has a full bar, delicious, stone-fired pizza, smashed burgers, fresh salads and sandwiches, and more! They may also have live music performances throughout the spring and summer months.
Raven Rock State Park is just a 15 minute drive away. Surrounding towns like Fuquay-Varina, Angier, and Holly Springs offer more shops and restaurants if Lillington doesn't have enough for you! Absolutely loved our trip! The wagon was so amazing, the bed was comfy, the AC made the stay so nice to be able to get out of the heat in the summer! The bath house was luxurious for a camp site. So clean and cool temperature to escape the heat. The property was in perfect proximity to the restaurant and the river activities. You can float, kayak, canoe and fish the river which we did and enjoy the burgers and pizza and drinks at the restaurant all within walking distance of your wagon. We will be back again!

The site is well furnished (tents, tables, chairs and fire pit) and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The string lights add a great ambience after dark (make sure to ask for them to be plugged in). The only downside is the roosters who start crowing as early as 3:00 AM and may awaken light sleepers.

Great space, lovely property, wonderful hosts. We had a group of 10 for overnight camping and we had room to spare. We definitely plan to come back!
The big tent is BIG and could have probably accommodated all 10 of us. But we chose to spread out a bit so the kids could have their own little tent sleepovers.
There were pretty lights, comfortable easy bathroom access, chairs for sitting around the fire, a gate to keep kids in, and the star attraction was visits from the dog!
We also enjoyed watching the cows come up to fence with the baby calves. We spent hours down by the creek.

Weekend Trip to The Homestead At Little Creek
This was such an adorable and peaceful little stay. My best friend and I were looking for a place to crash before a rabbit show and this was a perk because we didn't have to bring our own tent. It looked cute online, and then we got here. Pictures Do not do this place Justice. It is so incredibly peaceful from sitting outside the yurt and watching the cows graze in the pasture next door to listening to the birds chirp in the trees and the frogs peep at night. I was incredibly thankful to have a bathroom with a flush toilet because I'm not all about that pit toilet in the woods stuff at my age. The bathroom was super clean and just a few steps away from the camping area. Sarah and (forgive me if I get it wrong) Jeff are great hosts. Jeff checked in on us to see if we needed anything and to make sure we got settled in ok. Mira the guardian dog suckered me in to giving belly rubs with her big beautiful soft eyes. A few kitties popped by to say hello and enjoyed some pets and scritches. I would absolutely stay here again!

Kevin was such a great host — the tent was great, comfy bedding, beautiful property, fabulous nature trail.
Kevin even set us up a fire after our return from a great dinner in Tarboro. It was a beautiful, clear night and the stars and moon were breathtaking.

As a first time solo glamper, this exceeded my expectations. I was greeted by the Megan, her husband, and their dog Myra. Traveling alone can be scary, but Myra was near me all night. She also walked me to the bathroom each time I went. The tent had a heater, as well as a fireplace in the glamping area that I used. In the morning, I got to meet all of the wonderful animals on the farm. With this location being only 30 minutes from Dix park, it’s the perfect place to crash after seeing Thomas Dambo’s trolls! Great for a group camping trip, but I loved doing it solo.

Oak Grove Retreat is truly a special place!!! I feel a profound sense of happiness and tranquility when I am there. The hosts consistently provide friendly service and create a welcoming atmosphere. The wagons were so nice and conveniently located right near the restaurant and water. The beds were super comfy, and the room was so cozy. The AC worked perfectly keeping the place cool. The gas black stone grill was a nice surprise!! The staff kept the bath houses fully stocked with towels and other essentials. And the restaurant next door was a huge hit. The staff was lovely and very accommodating for our large crew of 17 for lunches and dinners. We will definitely be back!! We had the best time!
