Silk Purse Farm and RV was once part of land owned by the Cole family. This family owned most of Reservation Rd. A family of 9 children were all
born in the old farm house that has since burned when struck by lighPitch a tent in the wooded grove or hook up your RV to a shaded site completely covered by a 100 year old Pecan tree. Get farm therapy, ride horses, feed goats, dig in the garden or just hangout! Fresh eggs available in the chicken coop or goat milk based on timing.

Bring your own horse, stalls available. 

We are a short 15 min from riding at the Walthour Moss Foundation and the Sandhills Game Lands
We are 10 minutes from the Carolina Horse Park at Five Points, 20 minutes from Pinehurst or Southern Pines. 

Now a rolling grassy horse, goat, chicken and sheep farm.

Double L Farms RV Park, LLC

Double L Farms was previously owned by a woodworker and his family. Brian and Lisa Locklear purchased the 46 acre farm in March of 2017 and have been updating. and making changes ever since. The farm has an old silo, an old dairy barn and egg laying hens and pasture eating cows and horses.

Bring your camper and enjoy your stay at our quiet farm atmosphere.. There is full hookup for water, sewer and electric. Free WiFi is also available. Located just 2 minutes off I 95,  we have 26 RV sites that are surrounded by our horse and cow pasture. A full  bathhouse is available with a commercial laundry facility located 5 minutes away. Double L Farms is located approximately 45 minutes from Ft. Bragg Army Base and 1  1/2 hours from Myrtle Beach, S.C.

We carved our 43 acre horse farm out of wild swampy land in 2007 and finished the barndeminium in 2008. We started with Hipcamp 6 years ago and enjoy meeting new people. My husband is retired from the Air Force and works full time doing the chores. I retired May 2024 from being a  Neonatal Nurse Practitioner at Womack Army Medical Center.  I have a side hobby making homemade jams, pickles and flavored goat cheese spreads. We love the peacefulness of where we live...although the weather chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, guinea fowl, peacocks, goats and horses do get a little loud come feeding time.  We have different sites, please read each description or message me before you book a stay. All the sites have an 8pm latest check in unless you've stayed with us before. With the cold snap we have been experiencing the RV water source will freeze up over night. Please message me before booking the RV. We are constantly looking for ways to upgrade or make our farm more fun to visit.

Hummingbird Hill at Clever Covert

Lovely working horse farm deep in the heart of sandhills horse country. Hummingbird hill is our cute camping spot nestled under pine trees and amongst our farm inhabitants including horses, donkeys, chickens, peacocks and an occasional cat. One or all of these may make themselves a regular presence at your site. 

We are located a short distance from the Walthour Moss Foundation boasting endless miles of equestrian trails.

We are a short 3 mile drive to Southern Pines and a quick drive to Pinehurst.

Your campsite has a 30 amp hookup and water next to a cozy single campsite with table/chairs and fire pit.

Easily accessible pull in and out with lots of room to maneuver. 

This is a *working* horse farm which means you will see manure, bugs and dust. You may hear horses, donkeys, turkeys, chickens, dogs, cats and peacocks making the noises they enjoy making. There are tractors and mowers that may pass your site. 

Well behaved, leashed dogs welcome with prior approval.

Paddocks with sheds available for horses for additional fee.
