About the Property: Our unique property boasts quiet camping on a beautifully manicured MotoTrials Riding and Obstacle Play Course. 2025 marks our first year offering camping to the public, and we look forward to HipCampers joining us in our unique venue. All 4 camping sites are nestled into the Obstacle course. Trials riders and non-Trials Riders alike will find much to enjoy here. Campers unfamiliar with Trial are welcome to take advantage of a Lesson on one of our Rental Bikes, while the Obstacle Course is also super-fun on foot (for walks or runs), mountain bike, trials bicycle, or for playing with your RC rock climber! We have night lighting to turn on at your request, even if just to sit in the evening and enjoy the lights reflecting off the pond-We surely do! We are located on NY 38 but our traffic is not obnoxious (just Log and Milk Trucks, Farm Tractors and Commuters). It is very peaceful here. Your camping can be as private, quiet and leisurely as you wish. The views and big sky are gorgeous in our corner of farm country. Our small pond (tho not suitable for fishing or swimming) provides entertainment w/ turtle sunbathing raft and lots of nature's visitors. Pets always welcome off-leash with your guidance. About the Trials Riding: We host 6 Mototrial events each season (see below) and if spectating appeals, you can plan your trip to coincide. You're in for a treat if you've never seen these nimble motorcycles do their 'thing'... up, over, and around the obstacles. Events are busy and exciting, but no worries (!) trials bikes are not loud. Riders are friendly and considerate. If spectating is not your thing- no worries either. Non-event days are very laid back. On any given day if Trials riders come here for practice (or instruction with Mike) it's not loud or invasive, nor interferes with any camper training or play on the course. When riders are here (barring events), it's typically only 2-4 riders at a time. Multiple activities co-exist quite nicely here as there is plenty of room for all. There are many days no one is on the course at all (!) and you may have it all to yourself or possibly with another camper. Hope to see you in our slice of heaven! (Trial Event Days 2025: June 15, July 27, August 17, September 14, October 12, November 9)

Forest Hermitage

4. Forest Hermitage

19mi from Owego · 1 site · Tent · Van Etten, NY
Our land is nestled in a quiet, hillside forest. Meandering paths connect various spaces - flowering gardens, sunny meadows, rocky fern slopes and meditation circles. Lovely places for solitude and enjoyment. Our intention is to offer an experience of peaceful refuge… A rustic retreat in nature. Below our land is a seasonal dirt road. You can walk into the forest - visiting a stream and beaver pond. If you walk up on our rural road, to the open fields, you may see goldfinches, bluebirds, bobolinks, American kestrels and various other birds. If you are a birder, bring your binoculars. Some of the other wildlife you may see or hear include… Red squirrels, gray squirrels, chipmunks, raccoons, opossum, rabbits, deer, coyotes, wild turkey, hawks, owls and great blue heron. Activities on or near our land include... walking, hiking, biking, meditation, nature photography and guided retreats. Within 10 - 20 miles there are beautiful lakes, waterfalls, gorges and wetlands. Cayuga Lake, Buttermilk Falls, Taughannock Falls, Treman State Park, Cornell University Plantation Lands and Finger Lakes Land Trust unique preserves. This region is a hiker’s delight. The terrain is not difficult and many of the trails are less trodden. Ithaca, NY is 12 miles away. Ithaca offers excellent restaurants, music, theater, art, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and sailing. The Ithaca Farmers Market provides fresh, local produce. As well as regional wine, cider and honey. Ithaca is also the home of Namgyal Monastery - the Dalai Lama’s US Institute of Buddhist Studies. Main Host - Stacey Smith I am a hypnotherapist, meditation teacher, writer, gardener and nature enthusiast. I offer solo guided retreats for exploration and healing. Please see the extras section for details. And see my website. https://staceysmithhypnosis.com
