**ATTENTION POTENTIAL GUESTS**
Recently we've had a rash of guests who, either through the difficulties with using the mobile app or just not reading our provided information, have been arriving passed our check in time. We require guests to arrive no later than an hour before sundown (summer 7:30pm - winter 5:00pm) We require this because we are very rural and our sites are not lit to keep our property natural and prevent light pollution for ourselves and our neighbors. In the past we've issued refunds for people who have neglected this rule. We will no longer be doing so in the future.

The field is very open, we have some mature trees and have just planted some new, baby cottonwoods.
We have a screened in gazebo with a propane fireplace, a gas BBQ, outdoor shower, kayaks and hammocks for all to enjoy. Please do not be shy. Introduce yourself to the other campers. Share stories, make s’mores. Sing songs!!
Our yoga, meditation and meeting space is now open. If you are interested in booking this space for private use, please contact us to tell us what you are planning.
We, live onsite at the edge of the resort area.
Please respect our neighbors by remaining within the "Glamp Zone"
This glamp zone occupies only 1.25 acres. Part of our mission in creating this space is to bring folks together. We encourage campers to mingle. Maybe organize a group float down the Chama. The float from just above Bodes to our very own shore is wonderful. It takes about two hours. There is one challenging spot, but beside that, the float is calm and tranquil.
Please be aware, we have cats, chickens, goats, donkeys, horses and dogs that live on the property. Your pets are welcome only if they are guaranteed to not pester or hurt our posse of pets. Also, we will not tolerate excessive barking or inappropriate running around or bothering ourselves or other guests. You must pick up all your and your pets waste and take it with you when you leave.

From U.S. Highway 550 (mile marker 112.5), you will see the National Park sign, drive south on County Road 7900 for 5 miles.
After 5 miles (the road comes to a “T”) you will see another National Park sign, on the right hand side. Turn right on County Road 7950. You cannot turn left. (If you go straight, that will take you to Pueblo Pintado).
Drive 3 miles on County Road 7950. The pavement will end. On the right hand side you will see a sign that says "Dry Camp".
THE CAMPGROUND IS ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE. There will be a sign that reads: “Horsethief Campground”. In front of the short road to the Campground.
At the end of the short road to the campground is: a large school building, and 2 other buildings. We apologize that the road is a little uneven, but we are looking to improve this real soon. You are welcome to park inside or outside the gated area.
Horse-Thief Campground is an upcoming camp; located on 5 acres of land and more, for campers to enjoy. In a quiet; serene, beautiful landscape area of the Dine Nation.
With beautiful sunrises; sunsets and night sky is out of this world. There are trails in which visitors may walk or bike, as well as a Look Out Point. Horse-Thief is currently a Dry Camp with no Electricity or running water however generators are welcome. There is one portable restroom.
P.S. If you have already paid on Hipcamp, you do not need to pay again. However, please sign the Waiver provided.

Beautiful area. Hosts were pleasant but pretty hands-off. Good option if you’re down for a minimal experience - fire pit, porto potty and a wide open space to pitch a tent.

3 nights at Casa de KAMA (The Silo)
We loved staying at the Silo! It served as a great base camp for our adventures throughout the weekend. It’s a short drive from Santa Fe and Taos and surrounded by a ton of outdoor recreation areas. The space itself had everything we needed - fully stocked kitchen, bathroom with a shower, and a comfortable bed. It’s also secluded and offers great solitude surrounded by nature. We briefly crossed paths with Pat who was very friendly and welcoming. We would happily stay again and suggest this stay to everyone!

Very cute little place. Nice private location, but easy to find. Pat is very kind. There were a few things in the Silo that didn't work upon arrival. Pat brought in the maintenance man, but was unable to fix them during our stay. Thanks for putting in the effort.
The bed is very firm but we found it very comfortable. Well stocked kitchen and linens situation. Porches are really nice for enjoying the views. We would definitely stay here again.

This was my second stay at the same site, and it was just as magical and fantastic as the first one! Diana's communication was clear and helpful. The amenities such as bathroom, kitchen shed and hot tub were all kept clean and in great shape. And last but not least, the area where the property is located is JUST so amazingly beautiful and peaceful, with fall colors still adding more charm. I look forward to another stay!

Weekend Trip to Juniper Mesa Camp
The camper is super cozy and has beautiful views. There is a stovetop, sink, and composting toilet inside the camper – and a great outdoor seating area outside. It was chilly in late October, so Kate set me up with lots of thick blankets and I stayed very warm! Kate is open and welcoming but also gave me my privacy. Great stay!

It's close to Chaco Canyon, very remote and quiet. If rain is in the forecast, reconsider your date for camping as it gets very muddy. It was great to meet Wayne and Yolanda and hear their story of the property..

Weekend Trip to Casa de KAMA (The Silo)
Pat was responsive to all our questions before and during our stay, and we appreciated her flexibility. Our concern about a gas smell turned out to be an unlit pilot light on the stove, and that was easily remedied. We also wondered if a silo would be drafty--but it wasn't. We were there in early October, and the view of the surrounding Chama River Valley was beautiful. We loved the Silo and would stay there again!

This was a great alternative to Gallo campground if you want to visit Chaco. We had a camper and so being in a dry camp was fine for us. We drove out on the property under a tree with some great views. There are other trees on the property to drive to that people were staying at also. The dark night star lit sky was incredible! It was quiet and a good place to come back to before and after visiting Chaco. Be prepared for a 30 minute drive on a dirt road that is very bumpy. We did see a lot of wild horses on the drive in and out of Chaco which made it. Yolanda was very nice and helpful and said that they are hoping to get water and electric out there soon.

3 nights at Juniper Mesa Camp
I had a wonderful experience camping at Kate's place. She is so welcoming and has a wealth of information about the area, which is magical, by the way. Her camper was very cozy and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. No air conditioning/heat, and the nights get quite chilly (no issues, just a side note). There were a couple of snags, easy fixes, that she helped me with right away. The stargazing is out of this world 🌠 and you must visit Plaza Blanca, The White Place, which is below her property. Kate is by far one of the coolest cats I have met on my 3-month road trip around the US and I highly recommend staying on her land. It's about 45 min - 1 hour from Santa Fe and totally worth it. Thank you so much, Kate 💜
