We are excited to share our little A-frame cabin in the woods! The cabin is quite rustic ( and quite cute). Think of it like glamping -- outhouse, wood burning stove, dirt roads, and beautiful trees and mountains included.
** To keep the cabin affordable, all guests are responsible for cleaning up the cabin at the end of the stay and making it ready for the next guest. There are no cleaners coming in after you. **
The cabin is a 432 square foot A-frame in a small mountain community, which is surrounded by the Jemez National Forest. There are a few places to hike right from the front door, and many, many trailheads within a 20 minute drive.
Fenton Lake is a short drive away, and the San Antonio Hot Springs is a 2.5 mile hike, bike, or ski away right out the front door for the confident adventurer.
Located 1.5 hours from Albuquerque and Santa Fe, a few miles off of NM-4 between the town of Jemez Springs and the Valles Caldera National Preserve.
No outdoor fires in the fire pit are permitted at this time. WATER HAS BEEN SHUT OFF FOR THE SEASON - YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN WATER.

This A-frame was quite an interesting drive from Santa Fe. I don’t think we would’ve made it without our 4 wheel drive. The cabin was beautiful and Clean. We love the wood burning stove. Overall it was a great stay for a quick evening getaway from it all!

A great retreat into the mountains. We hiked from the cabin and also drove to and hiked in Valles Caldera. Magical location. Beds were very comfortable. Cabin amenities were good. Just take care driving on the unpaved road up to the cabin. Stay center when possible to avoid ditches on the right.

Jen’s place is soooo relaxing. Life really slows down here. If you crave getting away to a beautiful spot without cell or internet, this is for you. There is lots to see in the area and Jen leaves directions to find the sights. Don’t forget to bring towels. There is a shower in the back.

The perfect place to get away. No Wi-Fi, no cell service, which means you have everything you need at this sweet little cabin to take you away from life’s distractions.
We love being in the woods, cooking meals, watching the fire and having our dogs with us too! This cabin has the perfect porch for sitting out and awaiting the stars at night. So wonderful. Thank you Jen.

Jen’s cabin was perfect for a quick escape from the dust! The smell of the pine trees as we opened the car door on arrival was fabulous, and the cabin had everything we needed for a relaxing overnight retreat. We brought blankets with us and made a bed under the stars for the AMAZING night sky; even saw a shooting star, the sky was so clear. Enjoyed reading Jen’s memoirs of the time and work she and Zac have put into the place. We would definitely come back.

We loved this small, cute, cozy cabin. The cabin was clean, everything we would have needed for our stay was provided. The host had clear directions that were easy to follow. Including directions to the cabin, expectations for our stay, expectations for our departure, list provided for near by activities, how to directions for the heater/wood stove, and so much more. We enjoyed reading about other people's stay in this cabin in a notebook provided. We loved sitting on the deck watching and listening to the rain. We can't wait to bring our daughter back to this cabin.

The A frame was just what I needed to get out of the city for a night and be with the stars.
The space was cute, comfortable and clean and everything was in great condition. There is a short walk from parking to the A frame. The bathroom was simple and easy to use.
Taylor was extremely accomadating, so very kind and had quick, clear communication. I had a sweet river day and Taylor gave me some local recommendations.

This is such a beautiful property and A-frame. My friends and I couldn’t stop talking about how happy we were to be there out in the trees & mountains. It is a cozy place with firewood piled high ready to use for the fire pit, benches and a picnic table, and the string lights in the kitchen that added to the already sweet cozy ambiance. So many little touches that added to the experience. Don’t let the outhouse deter you, it has wallpaper if you can believe it and it actually adds to the experience in a way you won’t understand until you stay here! It is truly the best place we’ve ever stayed in Jemez. I am tempted to keep this A-frame to myself but I can’t help tell others about how great it is; it is a hidden gem and I highly recommend to anyone wanting to experience Jemez the best off-grid way possible. We were just 4 best friends looking to grow in our friendship and unplug, playing guitar / singing outside around the fire and then inside up in the loft late into the night. This A-frame served us well. We’ll never forget it.
