My husband, pitbull pup and I stumbled upon Bass River State Forest last year and have already made it an annual must! The sites are both beautiful and quiet and you're only steps to hiking and the water. 

South Shore Campground

Inundated by the area’s sixty-seven-acre Lake Absegami, soundtracked by the lake’s reproductive waterfowl, Bass River State Forest is a biotic gem amongst the state’s outlining smoke stacks

Bass River is an annual spot for my husband, pup and I. Both North + South shores are beautiful but you'll be on south with a pooch.
