In addition to the rescue goats and sheep on property, we have abundant wildlife including deer, turkey, quail and red Fox. The camping area is private and cannot be seen from the house or road. This property is 110 acres all together. We have cattle that do visit the pastures but can be excluded if need be. Nice rolling hills with Oak Savannas in the low areas. Lots of great native wildlife and plants that bloom from early spring through late summer. In the Fall the leaves are amazing. There is a rough outhouse at the primitive campsite. No electricity but there is water and trash bins located at the farmstead. We do want our guests to be comfortable but this is definitely a rough camping site. You may also want to grab a beef package from us for your stay or to take along with you. Many items available for sale right at the farm. Enjoy peace, quiet, and nature at your own private 70 ac camp site!

It's a nice place to stay. It's essentially her backyard. It overlooks the passing road and she has some backyard furniture with back lighting around. You don't have to worry about setting up tables and chairs. If you need a bathroom you do need to run down to a nearby gas station. A partially enclosed spot to set up a camping potty would be a nice addition. All in all, it was a pretty good camp. Tasha is very friendly and hospitable. Would recommend.

Aaron is flexible and super nice. His Hipcamp is exactly what other postive reviews described. The cows are use to campers and seem disappointed they weren't invited. I highly recommend this Hipcamp. Im a solo tent camper with a dog.

Great host. Very responsive. Grass path into a wooded site off a gravel road. Really private. Too hot for a fire, but ring was there. Old outhouse too. Check out Seward too. Great little town. Bottle Rocket Brewing has some delicious beer. highly recommend.

Aaron’s spot is beautiful! There are shady spots for hammocks and lounging. It’s also very private, with plenty of space for our dog to run around. Aaron was very helpful. He made sure we had firewood at the site and that we knew where the water, outhouse, and garbage were. The well water is so cold and refreshing! If you stay here, be prepared for ticks. Bring bug repellant with DEET. There were lots of them in June, especially on the side of the site by the outhouse. Overall, we had a great stay! Thank you.

We returned because we had such a nice time in the past. Plenty of firewood and ticks. If you have the time you can hike for quite a ways and enjoy the beautiful terrain. We were a little worried about recent rains making it tough to get in and out of the campsite, but we had no trouble even in my minivan. Aaron and his family are awesome - be sure to ask about their beef farm store!

This was my first time using Hipcamp & Shepard’s Rest set the bar high! My husband and I enjoyed two evenings of private tent camping with our dogs. There were bathroom amenities and a fire lit. There were also paths cut out that we walked our dogs around a few times. It provided the rest we sorely needed.

Camping at Jen’s goat rescue was so fun! The animals were super friendly, and we had a great time meeting them all. The campsite felt very secluded and we had fun exploring the trails and sitting around the campfire. Jen was also very kind and made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back!
