We are 20 miles east of Missoula, MT near the Kettlehouse Ampitheater in Bonner. Our location is halfway between Yellowstone and Glacier National Park. There are mountain bike paths, river access points for paddling, rafting or fishing within minutes of our land. We can even help you know where to go. Our land is surrounded by Nature Conservancy land with a public recreation easement, so you can hike and take your horse for a ride very easily, just let us know and we will point you in the right direction.
Our child had a significant medical emergency that required a lot of travel to Seattle Children's and 4 brain surgeries recently, so we are just getting the garden back up and running and the sheep are happy. Unfortunately no chickens this year.
In a vehicle, you can pull into one of our pastures for your stay. Where you are depends on which field the sheep are eating! Tents also work in the field. We do not have any hookups, but there is potable water in the blue hydrant by the yellow tube. The fields are that - pasture fields. There are quiet neighbors across the fence who now have goats on one side. We are happy to offer advice about local attractions via messaging.

Resting in the foothills of the sapphire mountains, just outside the town of Stevensville Montana, this beautiful 20 acre property is conveniently located halfway between Hamilton and Missoula; it is also a good midway point between Yellowstone and Glacier national parks. The outdoor activities are endless. Biking, hiking, fishing, swimming, hunting, trail riding, snow skiing and more are all within reach. Deer, turkey, osprey, killdeer, nighthawks, and eagles frequent the property as well as the occasional elk herd; and the Lee Metcalf wildlife refuge is about 15 minutes away.
The property sits about 400’ above the valley floor; giving spectacular panoramic views of the bitterroot valley and mountains, as well as incredible sunsets.
The paved road ends about 1 mile before the property, the remaining mile is a gravel road. There is also a one lane bridge right before you get to the property. Firewood is available for use at no charge. Sewer hookup has not been run to the site yet but if you have a portable tank, or want to pull the camper over to the house, it can be dumped as needed beside the garage; just ask and I can show you where the pipe is. There is a nema 14-50 hookup providing 50 amp power at the site; if needed I do have a 50 to 30 amp adapter you can borrow during your stay. Water hookup is also available at the site, but may be limited in freezing weather. If temperatures are to cold we can turn on the water to fill your tank as needed and then blow the line back out. If you need to borrow a potable water hose let me know as i keep those in the garage unless needed. There is a non-potable water hose that is available at the site, with a spray nozzle, incase you need to rinse or wash off gear, vehicles, etc. SpaceX Starlink high speed internet is available via WiFi. You can also charge your electric vehicle, if needed, with the power at the campsite or I have another nema 14-50 plug available at the garage of the main house. Be sure to let me know if you will need the plug at the garage so I can make sure it is accessible. If you have other questions feel free to contact me and I will do my best to answer them.

Great stop over spot right off the interstate. We rolled in after dark and still found it without issue. Taller vehicles be aware there are some low hanging branches but they are pretty bendy so I pushed through just fine. The entrance to field number 1 was pretty tight for our travel trailer. The car parked next to the garage meant I had to take it slow and watch my mirrors. But for the price, totally worth it.

Molly has such a beautiful plot! We had a lovely evening at the farm, the plot is very clean and the views are incredible! Molly’s doggo Louis visited us also which we thoroughly enjoyed :)

Nice clean spot for a quick stop over. You can hear the highway traffic but it did bother us.
We had the lower meadow to ourselves.
A little tight getting through the gate with a car sitting there but actually had plenty of room. Beautiful view out or back window.

Rainbow Gulch was an amazing experience! My pup and I loved it. Away from city lights, the sky is breathtaking- and the stars light it up at night! Very clean and well maintained pasture, with a local market only minutes away that has anything you'd need for your stay! Highly recommend staying here. :)

Wow, what a great place to crash! Right off the highway and despite some highway noise this is a very relaxing place to stay. Loved the ducks and chickens and a cat that was curious but not bold enough to come in and visit. The shower/toilet/sauna setup is great! We stayed in a “glamping tent” which was closer to a fully equipped room (they provided towels and shower supplies!) but would have been comf in our own tent on the creek with fire pit. This is a work in progress, a family raising kids and building their dream, something we can relate to. Would very much stay again!!

2 nights at Sanctuary Farm Yurt Glamping
We loved our time at Sanctuary Farm. The farm itself is on a private road, off a minor country road in a heavily treed area - The drive there is spectacular. You know you are in for something special! The yurt was placed well away from the owner's home, which gave lots of privacy and the night sky is DARK, so perfect for stargazing. The composting sawdust outhouse was a short walk from the yurt & surprisingly pleasant - no odor or flies and plenty of ventilation. 1000 times nicer than a port-o-potty. The solar heated camp shower provided by the host worked great. Just be sure to shower in the evening after the water has had all day to heat up! The optional breakfast was delish - definitely worth the cost & we ate out for our other meals, so never used the outdoor kitchen. We enjoyed our time here & would definitely recommend it to others seeking a stay off-the-beaten path.

Excellent spot. Nice amenities (table/chairs, grill, fire pit/wood, croquet, trees for shade) and a sweet view of the valley. Quiet road to walk on and stretch your legs and walk the dog. Great communication from the hosts, who made sure everything was good for our stay. Would definitely stay here again.

What a beautiful view!! We really enjoyed this spot. It seemed very private and had unbelievable views of the Bitterroot mountains. Don’t let the rough road and questionable bridge deter you. Just take it slow. We made it with our 35 ft fifth wheel and double towing an ATV trailer with no problems. And the pull-through site that James created was perfect for us. We would definitely stay here again.
