Stay on the edge of a working family farm (Dragon's Breath Farm) and the surrounding National Forest where the human world enmeshes with the wilds! The farm sits on 17 acres (with only 1 acre in production) with a 1906 log cabin. The small Silver Butte Fisher River runs just off the edge of the field and is the home to trout, moose, beavers, bald eagles, mink, elk, kingfishers, ravens, deer, and the occasional bear, lion, or wolf pack. We are between the towns of Libby and Kalispell, each known for limitless outdoor activities including hiking, boating, fishing, hunting, skiing, climbing, paddling, foraging, & riding. There are surrounding lakes, rivers, mountains, forests, and limited cell phone coverage. This is the place you come to to disconnect to reconnect. To yourself. To the forest. To the rivers. COME AND EXPERIENCE BEAUTIFUL NORTH IDAHO!!! We are located down a dead-end road, approximately 18 miles from downtown Sandpoint, with all it has to offer, yummy restaurants, Cedar Street Public Market, music concerts, the Bonner County Fair and don't miss City Beach no matter the weather, maybe even take a lake tour. We are 12 miles from The Idaho Club and just 22 miles from Schweitzer and some of the most breathtaking views around. There is always something to do and see on the mountain. Trestle Creek Park on the shore of Lake Pend Oreille, is another of our favorite places and it's only a 16-mile drive through some of the most picturesque areas of the NW. After a fun filled day exploring North Idaho come and relax at The Lost Fainting Goat Ranch, an amusing name for a place we call home. There is a separate private driveway, and you will have the whole camp area to yourselves, yet we aren't far away should a need arise. You may occasionally hear us (4 busy kids, 1 fat cat, 2 friendly dogs, 1 noisy rooster and 11 happy hens yet still no fainting goats) but we want you to feel like you are in your own private sanctuary. We are offering a new furnished bell tent in a secluded area of our private property in the beautiful mountains of Sandpoint Idaho. Our camp area is along a quiet creek that is visited by deer, wild turkey, squirls and even the occasional moose. There are also those less desirable critters that live in nature like insects, and we do try and mitigate those troublemakers with screens, traps, Diatomaceous Earth and other natural means. This area of our property is off grid with a wonderful shower house built from wood milled from our own land, complete with hot water and a compost toilet. We even provide Starlink WiFi and a way to charge cell phones thanks to our solar charged batteries. There is a fire pit, comfy chairs, a beautiful picnic table, again, made from wood from our own land, and a screened in area with cooking supplies. Our family enjoys hosting guests and we enjoy meeting new people. The most common phrase we heard when we first moved here was "Welcome to Idaho!" We hope you love it here as much as we do. When you reserve your time with us, please look for messages regarding directions and check-in instructions, we like to meet everyone to show you around and it gets pretty dark out here in the country and the cell coverage is pretty spotty in our area. There is an entertainment center converted into a wine bar/coffee bar with coffee, tea, soaps, dishes, glasses, and amenities! For skiing Fernie, Whitefish Mountain, and Turner Mountain are all within about a forty-five minute or less drive! Make sure you check out Cafe Jax 3 for $7.00 breakfast menu, the Old Red Barn, and The Montana Farmacy Soap Saloon that has candies and all sorts of goodies! Your host makes and sells gifts baskets with Montana items and Lemon Grass Spa and Makeup Products! We pulled our T@B into this beautiful riverside site. There was a picnic table and privacy. We never met or saw the host. It was quiet and tranquil. Easy in and easy out. The road has some washboard but no potholes. Great place!!

The location was perfect and just what we were looking for- close enough to town and the lake, but far enough to see the starts at night and listen to nature. 10/10 experience and I hope we can visit again!

We camped for one night here in our 13' RV on our way home. We wished we stayed longer. The single spot was well identified and quite away from the house. The simple outhouse was clean and not smelly. There's a small bench set up near the river, as well asba hammock. We saw deer in the morning and evening. Very peaceful and beautiful.

We had such a lovely stay at Chris and Michal's yurt! Michal met us on arrival and provided all the info and supplies we needed; she was such a warm, communicative, helpful, generous host! The site had everything we needed for an impromptu glamping stay on our trip to Idaho: all cooking supplies (and even some treats!), a shower/bathroom outhouse (with nice hot water), a cozy yurt with comfy bed, and even a roaring fire already started! We had a magical night under the twinkly lights, making s'mores, star gazing, and soaking up the beautiful Idaho wilderness. The site is only 30 minutes from downtown Sandpoint, but wonderfully secluded (though close to our hosts if we needed anything). We highly recommend enjoying Chris and Michal's wonderful site and hospitality!

What a wonderful hidden gem this was where we were able to unplug and enjoy nature with a fully set up Oasis in the woods! Chris & Michal truly thought of everything down to the smallest details with every necessity you could possibly need when experiencing the outdoors! The Yurt with a fully made bed, end tables, WiFi, cute accent rugs, touch lamps, an outdoor bathroom/shower combo, towels,, campfire area and beautiful lights strung throughout each of the areas designated for every element you’d expect to find when camping…and that doesn’t even begin to cover all the personal touches! If you are looking for a place to reset from life’s busyness, this is the perfect place to escape away to! This will now be an annual destination for us, and can’t wait to return! Chris & Michal are absolutely amazing, kind and caring people who go great lengths to ensure your experience is everything you wish it to be! To you both, thank you so much for the gift it was to get to know you and to allow us this much needed reset from life! You have created a beautiful ambiance and experience that I know many will enjoy for years to come!
