An important part of Montana’s commerce is transportation by rail so there will be highway and train noise. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to have noise-cancelation devices handy. I loved the views, walking my dog on the farm roads, seeing some wild life, and of course the ranch’s horses (especially Deniro!). And nearby Livingston is a cute town with plenty of eats and shops. Be sure to check out Neptune’s Brewery and say Hi to Kira.

Great location close to town. Very well organized, clean site. Quiet, except the train goes by from time to time, but it makes it charmy and romantic. The only negative thing I can find is a lack of internet and phone connection.

Weekend Trip to Osen's RV Park by Starry Night

A great RV park with good amenities, clean, quiet, reasonably priced, and a level site. John, the camp host, couldn't have been nicer. We were visiting Yellowstone National Park and the drive to the park from Livingston was longer than we would have liked - 63 miles. That's our fault for not checking distances. Osens has a fenced dog park which satisfied the "zoomies" of our two golden retrievers.

The Ellison ranch is the epitome of hipcamping! Big ranch, lots of space and privacy. The dogs so enjoyed it!! They also loved when I would get in the river with them for fun :) Kent and his ranch hand are there if you need them! I've always enjoyed ranchers because I come from ranchers. Good people! The sights around the area are spectacular not to mention the wildlife!! Do not miss Natural Bridge Falls. It isn't far away at all. The drive alone is spectacular! I rode my bike for 13 miles from the ranch down a forest road and it was breath taking. I really enjoyed my time in Big Timber as well. I love small towns where people are polite, helpful and friendly. If you have an rv, Big Timber Tire has an rv dump even after hours.

The location is lovely! Hard to believe the ranch is so close to the freeway. It was easy to find and get set up, and everything was just as described, including the deer.
