This land has been asking to be shared. First it was swings and little things for the grandchildren and their friends. Then the Cabin by the pond began to welcome visitors. Soon the steep slope anchored a Yurt with a wrap-around deck that puts you up in the trees. Our gathering spot by the creek became a camp site. Recently the grandkids' Bunk House found its way in. Our Retreat is 10 acres, narrow, but 1/4 mile deep, stretching down a steep wooded slope to a creek - and up the other side to the top of a bluff. It is only ten miles to Jefferson City but has a quiet and distant feel.

Relax on the porch, sit around the fire, or enjoy looking out the window at wildlife (lots of birds!) and livestock. The cabin has a loft, galley kitchen, and a small bathroom with shower. Less than 20 minutes away from I-70, just over 30 minutes from Columbia, MO. Located close to Missouri river access at Lupus, and is approx 10 minutes away from Plowboy Bend Conservation Area, Prairie Home Conservation Area, and Big Muddy NWR. There is one twin bed on ground level and a twin and full bed in the loft, option to move full mattress to the floor. Family friendly, lots to see on the farm (we have katadhin sheep, Irish Dexter cattle, plus many more).

I've tent camped at D'Ranch several times. Ted and Tracey are always the best! Chose a cabin this time. Perfect for my needs. Basic with no electric or running water. Port a john nearby. Great place to relax. Good place to see some wildlife.

What went well... Everything! The cabin was just what we needed. The property is lovely and I loved using the kayak on the cove. I saw Herons, ducks and other water birds and a few amphibians. They had a great bonfire on Saturday night and my wife and I really enjoyed talking with Tracey and Ted. All in all a great trip at a great site.

Wonderful experience!! Truly enjoyed the Yurt and its wrap around deck overlooking the heavily forested floor as well as appreciated the host’s low key, welcoming hospitality. Upon meeting Bill he handed out some treats to feed the turtles and fish in a lovely little pond on the property. Highly recommend this Hipcamp!!

After a very long drive this was exactly what my family needed. Anything you can think of was provided. Warm water, a bathroom, potable water, microwave, kerig, TV and air conditioning. We were greeted by the owners and they even offered us eggs. We only stayed one night, wish we could’ve stayed longer.

The Ranch is so cool and beautiful. I loved that they could accommodate so many different styles of stays, primitive, semi primitive all the way to B&B. The kayaks were great and I saw couples enjoying the paddle boat. The cabin was clean and comfortable. Most of all Tracey and Ted were phenomenal host! Friendly, attentive and helpful, but respectful of the guests privacy. This place is a gem.
