We loved it. A quiet pocket of woods that feels worlds away. The campsite is old-school and unfussy—just everything you need :) —it’s thoughtfully stocked and surprisingly cozy. We went during late summer and the trees produce a flood of green, and companioned by the nearby river, it was all entirely refreshing. We loved the privacy, the walkways, a home for a fire & a canoe at the ready. If you want seclusion with a touch of trust and care, this spot is a pure woodland balm.

Where to begin!!??? We absolutely loved our stay at BRCM!... we stayed in our camper on an electric site and it was fantastic from start to finish. Roger and Lela are just incredible people who have created a very special place. Between the swimming pool, bar and grill, playground, dogs, and general vibe, this place is a one of a kind getaway- more of an experience really. We loved it. And it's minutes away from the Current river where we set up for a few hours to have some river fun. It's truly a family place- we met other campers/lodgers who had already been there several times, which i absolutely understand! This is a place you keep coming back to because Roger and Lela make it feel like home. We can't wait to come back!!!!

A wonderful experience camping under the stars! Definitely loved the seclusion and being able to enjoy the great outdoors like we are supposed too! Super grateful for the experience and being able to explore the trail, but might’ve destroyed some spider homes along the way. Thank you Ross for keeping the land beautiful and having a perfect clearing to spend the night under the stars. Perfect for hammocking if you prefer to sleep outside!

The Big Rock Candy Mountain was a great spot for a long weekend with our RV, motorcycles and a float trip on the Current. We absolutly enjoyed the pool, the bar and grill for both a dinner and a breakfast, and some fantastic live music on the deck Saturday night! Great spot, we'll be back!

Jack is a great host, when I asked about the vehicle length he extended the road enough so I could drive my van in, and I definitely wouldn't have been able to get down into the site if he didn't do that. It's a real cozy spot that's far away enough from the river so you don't have to worry about the rain flooding you out. Me and the boys were able to get good fishing done (catch and release) and boy there was a lot of crawfish in that river. Managed to even see some otters on one of the sand bars. Jack was very responsive if we needed anything, and the site had a good amount of amenities that we highly appreciated during our time there. The site itself is slanted in most spots, so definitely make sure you choose your tent spot well and whatever you're sleeping on doesn't slide around your tarp. It rained for most of our time there, but like I said earlier, it's in a good spot so you should have no issues besides a little mud. Very secluded and private, was able to make plenty of noise with the boys without bothering anyone. If we needed any last minute supplies, town was just 5 minutes away.

As previously mentioned, the shower house is amazing (and has AC) but they also have a great set up around camp. You can be as primitive or comfortable as you'd like and the host family is incredibly welcoming and friendly. They went over and above and helped us with a couple small issues we were having. Weekend Trip to Crooked Creek Ranch

I took a group of six fellas for a one-night camping trip, here at Crooked Creek Ranch. Ross is a thoughtful host, and communicates very well before and during the campout. The campsite is as-advertised, without facilities, but Ross provided ample, non-potable water for fire dousing, washing, etc. He provided shovels for latrine use, but our group brought modified camp toilets, and took our waste with us, bagged. The picnic table and bench were in very good condition. The cleared area is well maintained. We endeavored to leave the campsite as pristine or better than we found it. Some nearby animals gave us a great, musical serenade early in the evening, and early in the morning, but a quite night in between. Although I didn't bring my travel trailer on this trip, I can see how it would be an awesome place to bring it in the future. It really is a picturesque, peaceful place. If this is your plan, be very mindful of your antennas, and awning. There are many, low tree branches between the pipe gate and clearing area. I wish we had booked two nights instead of just one, and hopefully, Ross will have me back another time. Five stars.

Ross has marked a very nice trail around his property that allows you to experience nature and see more wildlife. There is a lot of hiking and things to do close by.
