The property is an old homestead recently reclaimed and being brought back to life after many years abandoned. Early 1800s Bulgarian immigrants started a little community here called Stein. The old railroad used to pass through and there are alot of artifacts scattered throughout the property. We are in the process of cleaning up the old cabin built in late 1800s suprisingly still standing. The hardwood forest has a creek running through that is virtually untouched and home to wildlife of all kinds. Birds and wildlife of all kinds have a home here and no hunting allowed. Some trails have been cut and there are some natural trails for exploring the property through the hardwoods and campers are welcome to make new ones. A spring fed pond is great for fishing or just relaxing under the majestic live oaks. If Mushroom foraging is your thing you are in luck after a nice rain. This place had the best of southeast Louisiana and truly is a hidden gem. We are still in the clearing process so there are alot of projects going on but we definitely have some cool spots to pitch a tent. Host is on property in shipping container and willing to make accommodations as needed as we have electricity but are pretty much off the grid.. do not have an outdoor bathroom but could set something up with little effort. Have running water for solar shower or creek bath if you'd rather. Since we are still rebuilding there are some piles of lumber and things that may be unsafe for small children and animals. I have 2 dogs on the property with me but are fenced and friendly. If you have any questions just ask!

Weekend Trip to Creekside Farm Co.

We had a magnificent stay! We booked at the very last second because our previous reservation fell through suddenly - and it was a blessing in disguise! This property is so big and full of adventures and projects to look at. Special shout-out to the fishing pond!! My friends and I barely know anything about fishing and we discovered a lifelong hobby!!! The hosts were also incredibly kind & patient & generous with their time/care. From the moment we arrived it felt warm & comfortable. Also the farm dogs are so so so so lovable. We actually miss them - Mo will play fetch for hours and bring you cool trinkets ❤️

Great spot! The site had a nice flattened area for my tent a little into a wooded area. I was able to hang my hammock. And the spot is right in the edge of the walking trails which was lovely. I also had some car troubles and Jordan was very responsive and helpful!

Such a great time! Alicia was a great host. Her husband CJ was friendly from the start and answered our questions. Lovely campground area. Sites are far away enough to feel private but close enough if we needed anything. Bathroom is convenient. Quiet and peaceful, we didn’t mind the early rooster crow and it’s probably not heard unless you’re closer to the animals. We didn’t want to leave. Looking forward to next time! :)

They're small but nice bathroom facility worked well for somebody without a bathroom in their camper. It was clean and rarely used. A real bonus in this kind of Campground. Very reasonable!

Good little piece of property with many options for Tent, Vehicle or rooftop camping. Host is cool, offered to cut some limbs if necessary but wasn’t needed… quiet and peaceful. Good stargazing spot!. Camping creekside next time.

Weekend Trip to All You Need Institute

The hosts were friendly and informative and very helpful with directions. The sight was the perfect size for all our gear with a great view of the pond. I decided on an afternoon swim after unpacking and was blown away by the crystal clear water and fish swimming around me. Not to mention the beautiful hand crafted community area on the shoreline. Everything was very well maintained while staying mindful of the surrounding ecosystem. My only regret was not booking another night and having more time to explore this beautiful property and catch one of the community fires!

Weekend Trip to Creekside Farm Co.

Absolute perfection! Tremendous hospitality, gorgeous sites, quiet (besides the occasional rooster), it’s a secret paradise. My wife, my six-year-old, and myself camped for two nights, hiked up the beautiful stream, played with the dogs, gazed at the stars, and just took it easy. The people that live there are tremendous company, and we will certainly be back. Everything is clean and everyone was considerate and fun. Bathroom and kitchen worked great. Highest possible recommendation, but don’t tell anybody ha ha

Weekend Trip to Opal Springs Nature Haven

Ended up not staying overnight due to extraneous circumstances, had a picnic under a gigantic oak next to a small creek. The scene was wonderful and felt pretty private. We heard a car drive past once or twice during the daylight hours, but you could easily ignore it with the sound of a crackling campfire. There was a separate area that felt even more private, and that is where we'd stay for an overnight. The site is covered by tree branches and is just magical. Ashley was a wonderful host and even educated us a bit on the land. Definitely hoping to come back in the future for an overnight for sure!

This place is AMAZING! My boyfriend took me and our daughter (we had never been camping before) here. And oh my goodness! The views are beautiful, the hosts are very nice, sincere, and helpful people. There's an amazing swim hole in the river. Their very sweet dog, Moe, was our tour guide down the river and played fetch the entire time. It was so sweet and fun. I cant recommend this place enough, and I honestly cant wait to go back!

This was my favorite camping experience! My sister and I glamped at site 5, and I have nothing but good things to say. It was peaceful, secluded but not scary, and absolutely beautiful. We’ll be back soon!

Weekend Trip to Creekside Farm Co.

Took the kids for their first away from home camping trip. Left momma home so she could have a little break, haha. Everyone had a blast. The kids loved the creek and walking down to the swimming hole. They really enjoyed exploring the land too. Wear swim shoes as the clay gets very slick when wet! Loved the outdoor shower, with my only complaint is that I wish it was a little tidier and cleaner. It is an outdoor shower though, so I get it! I really enjoyed the camping areas. They were very large and felt secluded. It was a great experience and would definitely take the kids back again!
