We are currently *under construction*. Our forest was damaged by the draught and so there are changes underway. Please excuse our appearance as we shift toward becoming a food forest. Solomon's Garden is a 5 acre homestead located in the Black Warrior River valley. Our site is currently under land work construction, as we are recovering from the pine beetle disaster that has ravaged Alabama. Our beautiful pine trees are no more and we are in the process of rebuilding the campground, planting a food forest and adding an additional shower/toilet facility. We currently have a semi-private camping area in our small orchard that is flat and grassy that we recommend for tent campers on any day. We also have a larger, more remote camp area available on dry days. We expect land work to be complete in June and are eagerly awaiting the grass, wildflowers and native herbs to return following all this spring rain.

7. Open Night Sky at Longview

31mi from Columbus · 1 site · Tent
Open Night Sky at Longview offers a simple, open-field campsite with wide views, beautiful sunsets, and clear night skies—perfect for guests who enjoy space, stars, and an easy, peaceful stay. GUEST MUST BRING OWN TENT. This campsite is located on open land with convenient road access. You may hear occasional traffic during the day, while evenings and nights are typically calm and quiet. This is an open-field experience rather than a remote wilderness site. The property is approximately 15 minutes from downtown Starkville and about 20 minutes from Mississippi State University, making it an easy stay for visitors who want both peaceful nights and quick access to town. Before your arrival, a fire pit, grill, and trash setup will be prepared for your stay, so you can settle in comfortably and enjoy your time outdoors right away. And one more thing, if you happen to see a little gray tabby cat named Max, he’s ours. He’s an outdoor cat, very friendly, and loves cuddles. Please don’t feed him any human food. 🐾
