Tent camped on site one and it was lovely! We got in pretty late so we didn’t get to enjoy the nice fire pit as we were just setting up to sleep. Got up in the AM and took a short walk to see the pretty horses, chicken, and turkeys. The turkeys have pretty big personalities! 10/10

We had a fun time at the Shady Hideaway site! My husband and I, unfortunately, had a rainstorm roll in the first day of our weekend trip, but we still had a lovely time just relaxing in the tent and listening to the rain. The site is very private and a great location to relax and enjoy a weekend out of the cities. We also got to see some super cute goats down the path!

Other campsite was having karaoke night with a bunch of people past midnight and Jon took care of our so we could get some sleep!
Campsite 1 is on a slope so choose your tent pad wisely. Really enjoyed camping so close to the twin cities and we visited Lake George (lovely beach) and Rum River Regional Park for some biking and running through the woods on great paved trails. Water source is in the wood cabinet directly to your left through the red barn’s main door.

We took our dog on her first camping trip and Jon's place was the perfect spot. We had plenty of room to spread out, and loved having a few tree options both for putting up our dog tether but also for our hammock. It was much more secluded than if we had gone to our local county park, but we still felt close enough to civilization that we could feel comfortable with our pup's first camp experience. We enjoyed the Turkey, as all previous reviews mentioned. We also got to meet some nice goats and visit their farm stand to pick up some coffee on our way out.
The instructions for this site were very clear and the messages/instructions we received we really helpful in helping us get to the site and know what was expected of us. The bathroom was quite nice/spacious and not too far away.
We only stayed for one night but we really enjoyed ourselves and would go back again sometime.

This location was perfect and we loved the isolated feeling! The animals were really adorable and entertaining, it’s truly a beautiful and serene property. There is a giant turkey guarding the entrance to the property, which made for some great giggles and memories. You can hear some road noise from the camp sites but it’s off in the distance.
We did have some miscommunication with the landowner, he made some updates/changes to the listing after we booked and had some conflicting information on there. Just for the record, NO CAMPERS ALLOWED. I know it says RVs and trailers are allowed on the site details - this is not the case.

Great place. Very shady, cool camping spot. Some noise from a nearby road but it died down dramatically by the time I was ready to sleep. The biggest challenge was the turkey who liked to play chicken with my truck — a very friendly big fella who just wanted to say hello.

Very organized signs and directions to get to the site. The gate system was very easy to figure out and going past the little hobby farm of goats, chickens, horses, etc. was a joy. Fairly well groomed farm road through the woods led to a nicely open, but shady site that was tidy. Fire pit was very nice to use, some fire tools for provided along with a fire extinguisher and a picnic table at the site. Just down the road (a short walking distance) there was an outhouse and water source to wash hands as well as trash cans that made it very easy to clean up after yourself. We very much enjoyed all the bird and farm noises, the space was peaceful and private. There was some road noise but it was distant and didn't really bother us. We would definitely come back!

Although there is road noise, the campsites are back in the woods and you definitely feel isolated. Jon obviously cares about his animals and the property and trees. The site was well-maintained and directions were clear. He answered promptly when I had a question. This is a working farm so you do have to be mindful of gates and livestock as you enter. It's a nice respite from the hustle and bustle. I was only staying one night to break up a long drive but I really enjoyed the peace and scenery.

Had a great time! It was quiet, private, spacious, and easy to get to. The best part was the turkey who lives on the farm spending the entire evening with us and even sleeping in our camp! He was super friendly and brought great vibes. Such a great spot for not being too far from the city. Would highly recommend!

Nice spot to camp just outside of the cities, picnic table, and outhouse was a nice addition. Far enough away from structures and people to enjoy the peace
