A pop up camper on 2 wooded acres on private Tonseth Lake with a small fishing boat is the perfect spot for a family get away.  This large pop up has room for 4 adults and 2-4 kids, and the sight has space for your own tent as well. This lot does not have electricity or water, so you will need to plan accordingly.  We do have a Porta potty. There is no boat launch capability on our lot, but we include our 14 ft fishing boat and electric trolling motor for your enjoyment.  This lot is our family's summer get away, and wanted to make it available for others to use.

This old homestead belonged to my belated uncle Steve, and after he passed unexpectedly, I had returned to Minnesota from California and wanted to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for those interested in sharing a peaceful and modest property.  The old barn is a work in progress to eventually become the base to accommodating more travelers and outdoor enthusiasts as finances permit.  After working in the service industry bartending for 14 years and hosting 100+ global travelers via CouchSurfing out of San Diego, I am well versed in creating an inviting space and intend to take the necessary precautions now with the added stresses of Covid-19.  We look forward to meeting you and sharing/swapping stories around the campfire!Learn more about this land:Our property and profile are in constant change as we are in a stage of development, but we look to share our land with those seeking to enjoy a warm, welcome environment for those fellow wanderers, outdoor enthusiasts, vagabonds, and globetrotters. I am a well-traveled backpacker myself and share 5 1/2 acres with my father here in a bustling little touristy town. We enjoy the company of those who endorse small footprint, sustainable practices and I eventually intend to create an eco-hostel from the conversion of our 100 year old barn.  All we ask is that you respect the property, our neighbors, and make an effort to add one more new friend before you depart.

Just a few minute drive or 10 minute walk, you can be up at the Detroit Mountain Rec Area, a blossoming attraction of Detroit Lakes!

Beginner, intermediate, and advanced trails are available to those wanting to test their trail riding skills.

Learn more about this land:On the lake, canoe and kayak provided, wilderness trails for hiking,  fishing, mountain biking, fire pit, 10 minutes from Detroit Mountain, 1 mile from Heartland Bike path, and enough crickets and frogs to sing you to sleep!

Like many properties the roads split the house from docks but it is not heavily tracked at all. I slept near the road and slept soundly. 

Dock and float for lake enjoyment. Kayak and canoe too!
