Great quiet relaxing location, with wildlife and the sound of the country. You will have the only camp site on the property. You can stay in the small camping cabin in comfort with your own bedding, or bring a sleeping bag. We have the twin bed in the loft, or use the futon on the main level. The cabin only has room for two adults unless you bring a camp pad to sleep on the floor, or squeeze in a child, but you have the comforts of an A/C , a Weber grill, mini fridge, microwave, and Electricity. Quiet former country farm site, with great wildlife viewing options with walking trails. Only 23 miles to DT St. Cloud and 7 Miles to the Walmart in Princeton for food or supplies. If a shower is desired the Kwik Trip in St Cloud, on Hwy 10 has showers. Just a half mile off Hwy 95 and 5 miles from the large Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge, with trails and lots of wildlife. In the Fall expect to see a large amount of wildlife with many migrating birds come out of the refuge to feed. Expect to hear Pheasant's cackle in the AM, and see Sandhill Cranes and Geese fly over the camp site, or sitting in area fields. Enjoy time around a campfire with folding chairs and a picknick table, with plenty of free dry firewood in a storage rack.

We purchased the property in 2003 in order to escape the city life and be closer to nature. Over the years we have developed our sustainable farm, raising grass-fed cattle, free-range chickens, turkeys, pigs and vegetables. We work hard to maintain practices that heal the land and preserve it for the future. No chemicals, hormones, antibiotics, pesticides or herbicides are used here. We raised our four children here and have made many memories together as we learned to farm, build and enjoy our land. We continue to create and build towards a long-term vision, creating a haven for artisans with self-sufficient living in mind. Welcome to our inviting custom built cottage. It is located on our property, approximately 300' from on our home on our 88 acre land plot, located 10 minutes outside of St. Joseph, MN. We are very near St. John's University and the College of St. Benedict. Hiking trails located on our property as well as nearby County parks and St. John's University. We are 6 miles from the Wobegon Trail (76 miles long) which is great for biking, roller blading, walking and running. Come explore Creekwood Acres which is host to a great deal of wild life as well as sustainably raised animals with a process we call rejuvenative farming. Wander through the woods and listen to the birds, watch monarch butterflies, our cattle, pigs, free-range chickens, and hear the frogs, crickets and occasionally distant coyotes. The Watab Creek runs through the property which consists of fields, forest and a pond. Our cozy cottage was built by our family using lumber sawn on our property. There are two double beds up in the loft accessible by ladder and one queen size sofa sleeper on the main level . A wood burning stove keeps the cottage cozy in cooler weather. There is a composting sawdust toilet in the cottage and an exterior outhouse, running water with a hot shower. Electricity keeps the cottage aglow and runs a refrigerator, microwave, sound system and fans. Also available for your convenience, an apartment size range/oven. Enjoy a fire in a private fire ring near the cottage. Firewood available for purchase (for exterior fire ring). Enjoy a wood-fired sauna upon request. The sauna has been known to get quite hot! At this time, we are taking reservations for the Cottage. We are currently working on developing campsites and another rustic cabin on the property for people who wish to tent camp with a goal of creating a unique experience and wonderful memories. Theres so much more to come and your current support to help with our reinvestment in Creekwood Acres is so greatly appreciated!!! This property: Cozy lakeside cottage that sleeps two, with level lawn space nearby that will fit two additional tents in your group. Dedicated private space is in lower level backyard with access to dock* (*May -September), lake and wildlife wetlands with boardwalk. You'll see the setting sun from the end of the dock and have access to a paver patio firepit. Your private bath and a shared, comfortable TV room is inside house. Your guest room is a private space. Mystic Lake Casino and Amphitheater, Canterbury Downs, Renaissance Fest, Valley Fair, many other area lakes besides the 600 acre all sports lake that the property is located on are in the immediate area. For location purposes, we are located 3.7 miles of the Prior Lake, MN McDonald's. The price per night includes up to two campers inside or outside of the room, but up to two additional campers and tents can be added to the reservation for $20 per person/ per night. A limit of two persons inside of the cottage and four persons total are allowed per reservation. All persons must be declared ahead of reserving the space and ID’d for insurance purposes. Please note that all persons on the reservation must submit a copy of their valid picture government ID to the host (via platform) prior to arrival (but after booking). The host will discuss the procedure with you as HC supports pictures only after booking. Please ask prior to booking if you have any questions about this- this is a requirement of our self check in procedure. One campsite is in the prairie with a expansive view where 5 or 6 tents are possible. 2nd campsite is for one tent and is lakeside. Quiet peaceful trails through the woods. Animals at the home base (outside only). The chalet (in the pictures) , has all the needed amenities; shower, fridge, etc. No food or oil or gas or soap in the lake. The Little Cabin was a sweet and private tiny space in a private area with lots of wooded paths around to explore. My senior dog, Sven, was as happy as can be wandering the paths and sleeping cozily on the floor of the cabin. This is a very tiny space; in my case, just right for the two of us. It was incredibly quiet over the weekend; I saw only one car on the gravel road out front, and the air was filled with wonderful bird, cricket, and frog sounds. The property was very private and I actually heard nor saw any humans at all, which I very much appreciated. I will be very excited to return again soon!

This was such a cute and cozy spot! There weren’t other nearby campers so it felt really secluded, intimate, and quiet. We weren’t too bothered by the gun shots, they sounded far away. There were mice droppings on the bed and later on our bedding, so gloves and some cleaning supplies would be nice if provided too. Otherwise, the air mattress was extremely comfortable, the A frame cabin wall was easy to open/close, and the river, although low and nonmoving at this time, provided great cooling off for my pups. It was very cool to be able to see a lightening show from bed too! Will very likely book again!

Carl was an excellent host! His hospitality was exceptional, communication was prompt, and his instructions were clear and easy to follow. One thing to note is that the GPS may take you a little past the campground entrance, so keep an eye out for the sign that says “The Vineyards Tent Camping.” Other than that, everything was straightforward. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend booking with him!

It’s like a “ctrl+alt+delete” for life at the Little Cabin! Thank you to Troy for all the hard work put into making this a restful, peaceful affordable stay in the countryside only 1hour from Mpls. It was just me and my elder pup Baxter. We weren’t alone tho, shout out to the Mama and Papa house wrens who kept us company the entire visit. They were carefully guarding their little house next to our cabin, which is probably its own little Hipcamp when their babies graduate the nest. It didn’t take long for me to set up my camp and then turn on my Merlin Bird ID and I was able to see my very first indigo bunting with my monoculars. AT&T good cell coverage. West-facing porch, in the sun: beautiful. Also made use of the shade of trees on the north corner by wood pile to read for awhile. Troy has a number of chairs so you can leave yours at home. Too windy for a fire and too cloudy for stars this night. We’ll have to come back! Cozy, quiet & warm inside cabin overnight even with temps in upper 40s. Saw deer a few times! Outhouse was basic but fine, and fridge is a champ! So nice having electricity. No spiders, mosquitos or ticks- maybe bc of low temps and wind. Sleeping on futon was “okay” but I was too tired to care. Baxter slept in his little bed. He loved walking the country road- lots to sniff! Fun trails to walk & explore. I made up a story as to why the mail box is so high in the sky: preparing for space mail? Or maybe high snow deliveries? Peaceful thank you!
