Within ten miles are plentiful restaurants and stores in Park Rapids, Dorset, and Nevis. There are often music festivals throughout the summer, and several of the restaurants and bars host live music, some of which are played by Debbie, one of your two hosts! You can even take a 30-mile drive to Itasca State Park, home to the headwaters of the Mississippi River, where you can walk right across the headwaters!

Weekend Trip to Buttersprocket
I had a great stay at Buttersprocket. David was a fantastic host. The “gazebo” was the perfect place to spend a couple of nights. The fire pit area was excellent, along with the outdoor furniture & fire table. David let me know about the all the wild life I’d be seeing, and he was spot on with all the animal sitings! I really was just looking for a little end of summer relaxing getaway and Buttersprocket delivered. Would stay again.

What an absolute peace of paradise we were lucky enough to experience for our 4th of July weekend. This cozy little cabin had everything we needed, and then some. If I could live in something similar full time, I totally would. Our hosts were friendly and down to earth. Debbie gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants, sites to see, and even where to catch a firework show,(which avoided the busy downtown.) I would most definitely stay here again!

The views were so beautiful the river or creek was so pretty to look at the house takes you straight to the place it was amazing at the farm there was amazing the deer was like right up next to you it was so cool to see the cabin is so cute and rustic and it was actually really nice the beds were super comfortable and she had everything you needed and the games were really fun to play with as well! 10/10

Debbie and Steve were awesome! So friendly, met us at the cabin and showed us around. Whatever you need, they’ll accommodate. The cabin was clean and comfortable, and the massage chairs were amazing after a long day in the sun!
There is so much wildlife to watch and listen to. The water was a bit weedy at the dick but we were able to use floaties to move out to open water and it was so beautiful. Even caught a fish off the dock!
Highly recommend and will be coming back soon ❤️

I noticed their website said they were already closed for the season but HipCamp still let me book it. I was half-expecting a call back and a refund but instead, they were more than welcoming of my stay and even sort of apologetic that some of the amenities were no longer available this late in the year. On top of that, I got held up in traffic and didn’t arrive until almost 8:30pm which they did not seem the least bit bothered by. One day, as I was returning from the trails with my dog, they offered her treats and an adorable Sunset Pines scarf!
I was only in town for a wedding but will definitely make the trip again in the future, maybe even get myself a seasonal RV lot someday!

The lake view is beautiful and we loved seeing the loons, eagles, black squirrel, and other wildlife! We also enjoyed spending time on the lake and my daughters had a great time kayaking. It was nice getting to talk to both Debbie and Steve as they are great hosts!

We wanted a couple of days lakeside, and booking Debbie & Steve's guest cabin was just the ticket. The cabin was clean and comfy. We especially enjoyed all the lakeview windows. A few steps and we were on the water with our kayaks to enjoy the loons, gulls, heron, hummingbirds, and more, followed by a campfire dinner.
It was Minnesota nature at its best with friendly hosts who stopped by to greet us and ask if we needed anything.
We're definitely spreading the word about this little gem. :)

This was my first experience with a Hipcamp rental and I am extremely happy! The cabin was lovely, clean and has every thing I needed not to mention a full view of the loons on the lake. We had a view of the lake from the cabin which was clean and well equipped for our stay. Debbie made herself available to help in any way. She suggested fun activities for us including open mic night in nearby Nevis.
It was a great stay. The best part was the beautiful sunsets followed by loons serenading us through the night. I’ve already been telling my friends about this paradise that we’ve found!
