Pondor Lake Southwest Michigan

This stylish home and property sets the stage for a one of a kind stay. The unique setting is quiet and comfortable, makes you believe that you are hours away from civilization but you're only a short drive from the city and in close proximity of US 131, Interstate 94, M60 and M66.

Fishing and kayaking year round, unique decks and gardens overlooking a private eight acre pond encompass this back to nature lifestyle.  We're located right on the Portage River that feeds into what locals call The Mighty St. Joe. Maybe you'd like to take a rural walk or run, listen to the frogs and the birds ~ yet minutes away from Portage or Kalamazoo and a short drive from major highways. A 20 minute nature walk around Pondor Lake will surly calm your soul and heart from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Do you have a boat?  No problem ~ public accesses to neighboring Portage and Fishers Lake, along with the St. Joseph River, are literally minutes away.

Staying at Pondor Lake will be memorable and relaxing.

No sunset is ever the same.  No sunset ever disappoints.  Don't turn around ... they only last a moment and then the moment is gone.

You can't tell me that dogs don't see color.  Remington is the King of our castle.  60 pounds of fur and energy ~ his antics will keep you laughing.  He's looking pretty regal with the sweet light reflecting off his ruff of pure white.

This little guy is Johnny Bleu ... he's full of it and funny as can be.  Full of piss and vinegar is what my mom would have said.  He's a Corgi mix and can keep up with the Aussies like he was made to heard cows. Oh yeah ~ he was made to heard cows.  

Site # 2 is about half way down the pond from the main house.  A dock, suitable for sunbathing, picnicking or fishing is just steps away from this site.

Camp Site #1 - 50 AMP Hook up!  We have a hard wired generator to keep Camp Ticking even when the electric meter isn't.  The area is fairly level and it's an easy back in from the main road. Bring an extension if you'd like to set up on the crushed concrete.

This is the view from your tent on Site #3!  Please remember that chickens and wildlife wake up very early!  I personally find that alarm clock very endearing ~ even on the weekend.  You know what they say about the early bird!  ;-)

This property has been in our family for over 40 years- it is our own little piece of heaven and we are wanting to share it with you!

The land was originally bought to be a hippy community- but sadly people grew up and moved on, leaving my father as the lone survivor of the property. My husband and I have recently purchased the land from him and want to make it into something beautiful- a new community of sorts. We are excited for you to come and camp on our property!  We have lots of fun things planned for the property and will be making improvements as we go!

Our little slice of heaven is nestled back off the country road- with over 30 acres, we have a couple of old horse pastures and barns, a beautiful grassy area that has a large fire pit and a natural pond. Some wood is provided for your initial fire; more can be purchased from us for $5 per bundle.  We have basic electricity, a country swing, a dock if you would like to fish- we also have nice grassy walking paths and a wooded area as well. Our land is very peaceful and safe.  The perfect space to unplug and unwind and to recharge yourself. 

While we do only consider our space one site, it is large enough for groups as big as 30 ppl, with plenty of room to set up tents in your desired areas. Campers and trailers are welcome, with limited size requirements and space; we also restrict where they can be parked. 

We are very close to several rivers in the area, so bring your kayaks, or inner tubes and float down the rivers for a peaceful afternoon. We’re not too far from Lake Michigan (easy day trip), Kalamazoo or Lansing,

Several breweries in the area- (Battle Creek, Kalamazoo and Marshall) as well as a casino (Marshall). We are in a very nice happy medium to a lot of Michigan favorite spots. 

Come and enjoy the quiet country- and get some amazing star lit skies. 

Ask about our “glamping” set up, for an additional fee- or even an outdoor movie night.

We can accommodate large groups, or family gatherings. Large groups (over 10) must add on an additional portable toilet to their stay (seasonal only)

We have an open air shower (see photos) that is cold water- but can be hot on sunny days. 
We also have a sink area. 

Well trained- recall ready pets are welcomed- please pick up after your pet. We do have free range ducks that use the pond- who should be respected. Leashes are required for all dogs who are dangerous to our animals. 

*We are now accepting winter rentals, winter campers should prep for the cold winter weather and should have 4w drive capability’s. Some add ons including portable toilet are not available during winter months. Please confirm rentals or add ins before booking. 

We do a meet and greet with our guests and will show you to the space;  go over any information that we need to with you, and then we try and leave you to the space so you can experience it for yourself and enjoy your time. 

We are proud to be a certified pollinator sanctuary, and do not spray our property for insects. 

Visit our seasonal farm stand for fresh produce, eggs, and some beautiful flowers and herbs.

The Glamping tent was spacious, comfortable, and the lights added a wonderful ambiance! We heard a bard owl during the night and fell asleep to crickets.

Grace's Blueberry Orchard Camping

Located just outside of Michigan's capital, Grace Blueberry Orchard provides a nice option for people looking for a country feel in the city. There are a variety of parks nearby as well as rivers, lakes, and trails that are easily accessible from this location. Grace Orchard is home to a family of fake farmers who share the property with a flock of chickens. In the summer months when the blueberries are in season, campers are welcome to enjoy the wild fruits throughout the property. Camp sites are available with good privacy. The many trees on the property allow for hammocking options as well.  There are multiple large areas for camping, all with fire pits.

This hipcamp is an entrepreneurial endeavor of our kids who are raising money for their education. They have a bee sanctuary which humanely extracts limited honey amounts each year. Our youngest also sells tea infusers. Sunday brunch (Mexican) or (Korean) Ramen may also be available for purchase.

Our country home is located on 7 acres near Lansing and East Lansing, Michigan.  

We are the proud parents of a small flock of chickens who roam the property throughout the day.  

The property is surrounded by beautiful large trees that provide shade to hang out, read, or eat a meal.

Camp Site #1 (S1) is the largest of our sites. It is centrally located on our property, has easy access to the water source, bathroom, and shower, and is the ideal site for larger groups or people with car tents or large cars and camper vans. 

Georges Boot Barn

Our family has lived on this farm since the late 60's.  George worked in a shoe factory and brought home the shoes and boots that weren't up new standards and started selling them from an old chicken coup.  We no longer sell seconds, we sell new men's work boots here, and online.

Stickley Family Farms

20+ acres of woods and fields, fire pits, clean outhouse, and limited power/water ALL TO YOURSELF in one of the best locations in Southwest Michigan!

Originally settled in the 1840s as a mint and dairy farm, the property now known as Stickley Family Farms is currently being revitalized after almost 3 decades of neglect. Future and ongoing renovations include multiple rustic campsites, corn maze and pumpkin patch (seasonally in the fall), as well as a miniature railroad with nearly 1/4 mile of track that parents and kids can ride!

Options for tenting and RV'ing are available!

You can get a van or camper quite close to the tent and fire area if you wish to stay in an RV. Plenty of room for 2-3 tents on the site. 

Campsite is nestled in a clearing at the edge of a field and woods in the shadow of wild cedar trees. Deer sightings are FREQUENT! Plenty of room for 2-3 tents. 

There is a fire pit at the site and a small supply of wood ready to go! Additional bundles of wood can be ordered and delivered to the site before your arrival for a small fee. 

Firewood is available for a small fee and will be delivered to the site before your arrival.

The property has many scenic areas including this original barn dating to the 1860s. 

Sugar Shack private disc golf

Many years ago, the property was a working orchard. While exploring, you may stumble upon one of the remaining fruit trees.

Private wooded campsite on the property. A picnic table, fire ring, solar lights, charcoal grill, and a screened tent are available. Waubascon Lake (with a public boat launch, great for fishing or paddling) and Bedford Golf Course are less than a mile down the road. 

Your stay includes a private 18-hole disc golf course on the property. There are also tons of other disc golf courses in the area. 

There is a great open area near the campsite for fantastic star-gazing. The camp has no water or electricity, but filtered water is available behind the garage. A bucket toilet is available at the site (*an outhouse is under construction and will be available this season). Driving back to the site is okay with small/mid-size vehicles. 

Bedford Market and Dollar General are 1/2 mile away for food/drinks/supplies. 

 *** Firewood is included with the rental. Check-in after 2, Check out at 12.
