Weekend Trip to Emerald Green Cabin

We loved our stay at Emerald Green Cabin. We have stayed at many off-the-grid cabins, and this was one of our favorites. Very clean and comfortable, and we really enjoyed the ease of the kitchen set-up with the propane stove. The woodstove kept us plenty warm during the cold nights. Apart from some of the places we've stayed, you could notice the care and thought put into the design, build, and furnishment of the cabin. The path down to the river was fun and well-marked, though the water level was a little low due to the drought...as we expected. Lisa was an excellent host, responsive without being intrusive. We highly recommend the Emerald Green Cabin.

I loved Sandi and Brandon"s cabin! The land is beautiful and you feel miles away and secluded from everyone else. The cabin itself is very comfortable, clean and cozy. They thought of everything! The covered porch was great and we enjoyed our fires in the fire . The sheep came to visit and were peaceful to watch. I 100% recommend staying here. It's so relaxing!

We had just the BEST stay at the cabin. We brought our 6 month old along for his first stay in nature and he loved it. The cabin is cozy and has everything you need for a nice, quiet weekend away. Sandi and Brandon were amazing hosts and their kindness made the stay even better. 10/10 would recommend. We will be back soon!

Staying at the Sunrise Cabin was truly a magical experience! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the peaceful beauty of the meadow and the gentle presence of sheep grazing nearby—it felt like something out of a storybook. The short walk to the cabin was easy and made the stay feel even more tucked away and special. The cabin itself was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed—from a full kitchen to indoor plumbing and a gas fireplace that made the nights feel warm and relaxing. The view to the east was absolutely breathtaking, especially at sunrise. Watching the sun come up over the fields and woods was an unforgettable way to start each day. One of the highlights of our stay was learning about the animals on the farm. It was so much fun interacting with them and gaining a deeper appreciation for farm life. It added a whole new level of charm and authenticity to our visit. The outdoor area was perfect for winding down—we enjoyed the lighted fire pit, cooked dinner under the stars, and even had a picnic at the table while soaking in the quiet of the surrounding nature. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat with amazing views, friendly animals, and all the comforts of home, this is the place. We can’t wait to come back!

We’ve stayed at a lot of Hip Camps and this is one of our favorites! We loved the setting of the cabin overlooking the sheep field, a prefect peaceful spot for reading and relaxing. Sandi and Brandon went above to make sure we had the best visit even giving us directions to a local hidden beach on Hancock Pond. If you are a paddler or fisherman be sure get their recommendations for the best places. We are already planning our next visit.

Sandi was a fantastic host! So kind and thoughtful. The property was exactly as described if not better. Was so fun to be on a working farm. There were sheep in the pasture sometimes and it was so cool to see and hear them. Instructions were super clear and Sandi was super communicative. 10/10 would recommend.

My wife, nine year old daughter, and I stay on the island for three nights. We had a wonderful time. It was a almost magical family getaway. The island is close to an area where seals congregate and there were dozens of seals playing and hunting nearby. The cabin is austere but comfortable. We would definitely go back.

If we ever go camping in Maine again, we're definitely going to Woolley Farm. When we arrived, Brandon greeted us with a warm smile and warm fresh eggs! The cabin is private and well-maintained. A well appointed kitchen, comfortable couch and bed, decorated nicely with many personal touches. The cabin had all the comfort of home. Just when I thought I saw everything, I’d see something else more beautiful. There are plenty of beautiful handmade quilts, all with the theme of sheep and horses. We woke one morning to the sound sheep grazing in the field. So idyllic!! I can now successfully imitate a sheep’s bleat! There is so much to learn here and Brandon and Sandi love to share their knowledge. They have many great books and I read "A Good Dog" by Jon Katz. Brandon is a sheep shearer among his other talents of building and planning. Their care for the land, sheep, horses, and chickens is abundantly clear!!! The woodworking on the bridge and the gazebo that he built is perfection. He is so talented. He and Sandi make everything themselves on the farm . One night while walking thru the well maintained beautiful and magically lighted path in the woods, we were startled by the hoot of an owl flying over us and then a turkey flying from one branch to the next. Awesome! We then came upon a Christmas tree farm! I could go on and on, but, to experience Woolley Farm is best!! Thank you Brandon and Sandi for sharing your lovely property with us!!!
