Flagstaff Lakeside Campsite Retreat

This beautiful campsite is located right on Flagstaff Lake under large red pines in a fenced-in wooded lot in a private neighborhood.  There is a dock to swim off of, launch your kayaking adventures from, or to relax on in the summer evenings. There is ample space to set up multiple tents, a fire pit, weber charcoal grill, and picnic table. You have your own port-a-potty, ceramic water cooler for drinking water, and a potable water spigot.  You are located adjacent to Cathedral Pines Campground, just half a mile from grocery amenities and only a few miles from local area restaurants.The neighborhood has its own private boat landing and the best views of the Bigelow Mountain Range around.  

Situated in the heart of the Western Maine Mountains you will find plenty of outdoor activities in the area - hiking, mountain biking, fishing, swimming, kayaking, paddle-boarding, and golfing, to name a few. If you don't have your own kayaks, paddle-boards, or canoes, you can rent them from us or at a spot just 1/2 mile down the road! Close to hiking trails, an extensive mountain bike network and just 11 miles from Sugarloaf Ski Resort this campsite is perfect for the outdoor enthusiast or for just relaxing in a beautiful nature oasis.

Come visit a converted Grange hall that was MOVED to its current location 10 years ago! Nestled on 35 beautiful acres, it gives you the chance to choose meadow or forest camping along with meeting some new animal friends!Learn more about this land:Come join us on Howling Goat Farm where you can pitch a tent on our field site for a front row seat of the night sky and a spectacular view of the Milky Way. OR we have a secluded site in our wooded area that you are more than welcome to stay in for a more private experience! We are a non-conventional camping area where we don't want anyone to think that they are sardines stuffed into a tiny lot. We keep our bookings to a minimum so more often than not you'll have a whole field to yourselves with more privacy than any other campground. We hope you'll join us for a few days of farm life and the simplicity that we can provide.  We are within 4 miles of 95 and  centrally located between Rangeley, Baxter, Moosehead and Acadia National Park.

Primitive Campin'

  we are located on the banks of the Sandy River. The Sandy River is a free-flowing river that begins in the mountains of Western Maine and meanders through  our college town of Farmington where  you can  enjoy specialty shops and get a bite to eat at one of the  many restaurants. We are about a 45 minute drive to Smalls Fall near the beginning of the Sandy River and has a series of five drops  ( waterfalls) through a narrow gorge that challenge extreme kayakers.  It's truly a sight to see .No worries if you're not into extreme kayaking  you can drop a tube in the river near you campsite for a lazy day float down stream. If you like Hiking, biking, or 4 wheeling you can pick up a trail right from your site.
Or a short drive to the  whistle stop trail that is a multi-use rail trail connecting three towns highlighting beautiful countryside.

Camping at Runamuk Acres

The Runamuk Acres Conservation Farm is settled at the foot of western Maine's Bigelow Moutain Range, in the village of North New Portland, with views of Mt Abram to the west, and Black Hill looming to the east. The farm boasts a large vegetable garden, perennial flower beds, herb gardens, chickens and sheep on pasture, a buzzing apiary, and a lush meadow with a secret forest beyond. A love for nature and a desire to preserve the landscape for future generations is the heart of Runamuk. The farm practices agricultural conservation for the health of honeybees, native pollinators and other beneficial insects. Easy access to the Bigelow Mountain Range, the Appalachian Trail, and myriad outdoor sporting activities (hiking, fishing, biking, hunting, swimming, sight-seeing, birdwatching, etc.).

We purchased this land a few years ago when our neighbors decided to sell. It abuts our property They used it as a place for their family to gather and camp on during Maine wonderful summer season. It is a beautiful, quiet spot with a great view and a small pond. Hipcamp lets us share this spot and helps pay our property taxes.We are located in the western mountains of Maine in a summer community on Porter Lake. There is a beautiful view of New Vineyard mountain from our 3 acre field. We have 2 trailer sites with power and water (non potable) and an out house. The field has several fire pits and soft grassy spaces for pitching tents. The camping area is fairly private from our neighbors along the road. The site has a small private pond surrounded by trees you can sit and relax near. You can (walk/bike/drive) the 1/4 mile down the dirt road to the public beach. The beach has a public dock, boat ramp, swim float, picnic tables and grills. Paddle out to the island and try the rope swing with one of our kayaks or canoes. Be sure to check out the bald eagles that live in the white pine tree just a little farther down the island. You will hear the loons during your stay and possibly see a mother with her babies on her back. There are also ducks and ducklings and geese with gosling paddling about the lake. The state stocks the lake with trout, splake, and salmon if you like to fish. There is plenty to do right here!

I would recommend exploring the lake in a kayak. Tons of fun!
