She and her husband often brought us fresh vegetables they raised on their "little piece of heaven." They had no children and all these years later, their idea of heaven became ours to take care of now. We are so blessed here at Payne Lane Farms.
You can safely camp in your travel trailer minutes off of I-20 on our wooded, rural lot minutes from town, convenience stores, food, and even dump stations.
The front orchard provides a refuge of shade and privacy while also allowing you to see everything around you. Rayville, Louisiana has great history and heritage and some fun artifacts to explore if you have an adventurous spirit. Good people and family owned businesses if services are needed while enroute-traveling.

Pull thru the front by turning to right of the mail box and not using the driveway! Maybe a little off road, but this is the country and it won’t hurt to just drive thru the yard sometimes.

I built a culinary herb farm and nursery on the plantation grounds, in which I was named after by my family. My farm is called Louisiana Herbs LLC. Don't use google maps to find the place. Use the mail box numbers. The best thing about this place is the feeling of security. Just across the street is a very nice neighborhood and if you keep walking you get to a huge cross on IH20. The hosts were very nice and accommodating.

The camping area is very large and very secluded. It is mowed grass surrounded by old pecan trees. It is next to a river, but with my bad knees I didn't venture to the top of the dike. Breston invited me in for seafood gumbo and cornbread. I had a great chat with him. I also met his father. I gave him some money for the meal, but I had no problem with that. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys southern hospitality.

What a great experience on the Ouachita River. The site is easy to back into and level, sitting above the river and his dock. Brandon, our host, sent several messages to ensure we had everything we would need prior to arrival, including spot on directions. He arrived shortly after we had set up, again checking to see if we had everything we needed. He even invited us to his company crawdad boil the following night held at the dock. We did take advantage of the invitation and met his wife, Mom and Dad, and several of is employees, who taught how to crack open a crawdad and eat the meat. They were great hosts, and even if the site was questionable ( it wasn't at all) we would return simply because Brandon is such an awesome host. Again, what a great experience. We could not ask for a better time!

I had an incredible time Hipcamping on Breston's storied property in mid-April. The camping area is incredibly spacious and private, weather was perfect, and the mosquitoes were very tame during our 1-night trip.
Definitely take Breston up on a home cooked meal if he offers during your stay. Hands down the best meal we had over our 1-week of traveling through Louisiana.
(A note: vehicles such as sprinter vans with high clearance, be prepared to brush some of low hanging branches on your way in)

Sweet spot. You can just feel the history of the land. Breston was the best and accommodating host. I suggest everyone take him up on his offer to cook. He went up and beyond for me since I don’t eat meat and made a delicious shrimp gumbo!! He has wonderful stories about the area. I would highly recommend!
