The description says an acre because it is impossible to put in a smaller number, but the actual parking space is about 25 x 50 ft, with additional hangout space nearby. I am right next door (on the other side of the fence) if you need anything and can help navigate entering and setting up and give you a key to lock the gate with.

We're a non profit community garden in the Old Algiers neighborhood of New Orleans on the West Bank of the Mississippi River, a 15 minute drive or ferry ride to the French Quarter. We use the money from these bookings to fund the community food access work that we do. While you're here you can enjoy our peaceful and spacious garden property, and we encourage you to get to know some of the fantastic neighbors who use our community fridge and herb garden. Take the scenic Mississippi River Levee Path 1 mile to get to the Algiers Ferry dock which departs every 30 minutes and drops you off at the foot of Canal Street in the heart of New Orleans. If you have a car you can cross the bridge and get to most of the city in 15 minutes. You can also explore Algiers Point with its many restaurants, bars, local art and historic buildings. The levee trail is a block away, where you can jog, bike, or just watch the boats go by. Property amenities include an open air bathroom and shower, communal screened porch with seating area, propane grill and various pots/pans, cooking gear and tableware, fridge, picnic tables and a small fire pit. The RV space was premo for my vehicle & gear; there was ample space to pitch a tent and beat the Nola heat. Mark communicated transparently about the space and made accessibility easy. The semi-outdoor bathroom/shower was a nice touch - plenty of hot water with the on demand water heater. Mark & co. were super friendly and gave a lot of insights into the little fabulous cultural tidbits that Nola is full of. Sunday brunch was so much fun! Pelican gardens are such a beautiful forest of food and tropical plants 🌿 this was exactly the greenspace and vibe that I was seeking for camping, all while being a 20 minute walk to the Algiers ferry and close to the French Quarter & downtown. Riding the ferry daily and using the RTA Jazzy pass was a total breeze 🏖

Weekend Trip to Magic River Campground

It was lovely. I was worried aboot lack of peace because it was near 2 highways, but it was super peaceful. Didn’t hear any vehicles. I saw deer and squirrels several times the few nights I stayed. There was plenty of space to walk around and explore. I loved that my dogs were able to be free once we were on trails away from others. The host was great, very helpful and kind. It’s a very safe place. They love their community, (something similar to what I’ve been aligning with- soul tribe eco-village). I really did love and appreciate the 5 mile speed limit, even if I had to keep remembering it. The slimy/residue feeling on my skin from the shower/sink I assume is soft water and would take some getting used to. All was great.

Mark's garden oasis in Algiers neighborhood was perfect for our 2 night stay in NOLA. Great spot for our 20' van, nice bathroom with shower! Super friendly folks, Mark and Antoine. Love the family feel, and close to ferry to get easily to tourist areas. Great value and our stay supports the non profit garden project! Love it!!

I really enjoyed the site, Algiers is a very quiet neighborhood compared to New Orleans. The ferry comes every 30 mins and is about a 10 min boat ride to downtown. I flew in and took an Uber to the tent site with my gear, the porch area is great to chill on and I met a really nice guy woofing on the property. It’s pretty great!

Absolute perfection! Tremendous hospitality, gorgeous sites, quiet (besides the occasional rooster), it’s a secret paradise. My wife, my six-year-old, and myself camped for two nights, hiked up the beautiful stream, played with the dogs, gazed at the stars, and just took it easy. The people that live there are tremendous company, and we will certainly be back. Everything is clean and everyone was considerate and fun. Bathroom and kitchen worked great. Highest possible recommendation, but don’t tell anybody ha ha

This place is AMAZING! My boyfriend took me and our daughter (we had never been camping before) here. And oh my goodness! The views are beautiful, the hosts are very nice, sincere, and helpful people. There's an amazing swim hole in the river. Their very sweet dog, Moe, was our tour guide down the river and played fetch the entire time. It was so sweet and fun. I cant recommend this place enough, and I honestly cant wait to go back!

We had an amazing time in New Orleans and it started with Kat's cozy campsite! We were amazed at the beauty of her plants surrounding the seating area. Very peaceful and conveniently close to a lot of the attractions. Already looking forward to staying there again! Had 30 amp electricity and water for our camper. Our camper measures roughly 22ft long by 9ft tall on the edges by 7ft wide for reference.

We booked this place as we wanted to be close to New Orleans but not pay New Orleans prices! This place is a hidden GEM! It's no resort but has full hookups and is located in a small fishing "village" just 28 miles east of New Orleans. Bradley was a gracious and thoughtful host and offered to move us to a bigger and more private spot (site 12) once we arrived. Unfortunately, we did not have time to take advantage of his fishing charters as he also offers fishing excursions from his boats located just across the street! We will back back!

Took the kids for their first away from home camping trip. Left momma home so she could have a little break, haha. Everyone had a blast. The kids loved the creek and walking down to the swimming hole. They really enjoyed exploring the land too. Wear swim shoes as the clay gets very slick when wet! Loved the outdoor shower, with my only complaint is that I wish it was a little tidier and cleaner. It is an outdoor shower though, so I get it! I really enjoyed the camping areas. They were very large and felt secluded. It was a great experience and would definitely take the kids back again!

Debbie was the most kind and over-the-top accommodating host I’ve ever met. She spoiled me and my two girls! She fed us dinner and gave the girls treats. In the morning she gave the girls hot chocolate, toys and beads to play with. Her property was fun… being right on the bayou! She even had kayaks for us to use. She set chairs out for us to use to watch the bats at sunset. An absolutely amazing time was had!

Weekend Trip to Creekside Farm Co.

We love it here and will definitely be back. Sites are far enough apart and you have access to the creek. They have chickens, rabbits, turkeys, geese, and peacocks. There’s a small fishing pond too. We caught some perch (I think) on small hooks and hotdogs. There’s a trail to walk around on behind the pond and goes back to the campsites and brings you to the bunker and balcony. Dogs are allowed but need to be on a lead. They also have dogs that are friendly. Mocha will come visit the campsite and creek. She will have you throwing sticks in no time! Very pretty with all the fruit and vegetables growing! You can also order firewood with your reservation and they’ll bring it down. Everyone was very friendly and super accommodating! Randy was also very helpful and good company. Fair warning, the ants are terrible! There’s hardly an ant hill in sight but they were into everything, even in tubs! I just recommend storing food or snacks (dog food too) in your vehicle when you aren’t using it.
