Rock hounders welcome to explore the creek beds, and bring your disc golf or archery bows- we have that too! You will never want to leave!

Terrapin Hill Farm

The land that is now Terrapin Hill Farm has been a gathering place over the ages, and we have continued the tradition with music festivals, yoga retreats, weddings, and other celebrations. We believe that getting out in Nature... by camping, hiking, gazing at a campfire or at starry skies... is not only beneficial but necessary to our mental health. That's why we want to share our little slice of heaven with others.

This is September before the Fall color. The rear view from your camp site, with the sunset around 7pm.

OakHills Primitive

Learn more about this land:Primitive one camp site Located on 5 acres surrounded by farmland. An open field next to our home. Set far enough away from our home for privacy. You can swim suit up and take a cold water garden hose shower during summer months(this would be in the open hence the swim suits! ). Sunsets and stargazing can be amazing. A place for low key folks to commune with nature, but we're not good place to party down and get rowdy.  (Quiet time after 10pm) Your nighttime will be soothed By frogs and crickets chirping, coyotes howling, hooting owls and deer running through. .We are Family oriented and  want to keep a peaceful tranquil location for you and the wildlife. Water hook up is at the front of the house. We have a 100 ft garden hose for your use But it doesn’t reach all the way to your camp site. **What you Bring in you Please Take out. No toilet available on site.  No Electric. Attractions within an hour!  10 min- Bloomfield, 20 min-Taylorsville Lake State Park..20 min-Bardstown, 45 min-Louisville Lexington, 30-min Harrodsburg. Come out and enjoy a night of ZZZ's or stay for a few days with your family and enjoy the near by attractions. Plenty of space for yard games. Please Bring your own wood for the firepit. I will need to verify your dates before your booking is final.

Tent Camping in the Forest

Learn more about this land:Up top our property, we have a beautiful meadow in the middle of the forest. There is space cleared out for camping, under the canopies of the trees. The camping space requires a 10-15 hike up a somewhat steep hill, but we have a four wheeler we can use to help take things up. You will have a very private space. There is no running water or electricity up there, it will be you with the forest.Our farmhouse is at the bottom of the hill, so anything you may need we are available at any time. We have a farm animal sanctuary, so if you like you will be able to visit with our residents. We share a boundary with Bernheim Forest and can give you a tour of the property lines if you want to hike around here. We're also by the Bourbon Trail! 

Little Slice of Heaven <3

I live on 5.5 acres.  It's peaceful and quiet and I love it here.  I've stayed at other hip camps and simply decided that I would love to share my little slice of heaven with others passing through my area.  Notes: there is a wee bit of road noise, I live on a dead end road, there are 10 acres between my 5 acres and the Blue Grass Parkway.  I find it peaceful here and can easily ignore it but I'm mentioning it so your not surprised by it  ;)  The Neighbor dog (Roxy) is very friendly and might visit you while you are here :)

You are welcome to hang a hammock in a small section of woods, by a small pond, or even on my covered porch.

You are welcome to pitch a tent anywhere you like.

You are welcome to park an RV or vehicle in the drive.  The drive is about 250ft long, you would need to back in in order to hook up to the 30 or 50 amp plug.

RV's can use the 50 amp plug and hose for water. 

I have an outdoor shower and a camping toilet.

- one hour from Lexington, Louisville, Elizabethtown, and Frankfort.- 1 mile from a mini mart with Gas, Ice, Pizza, Chicken Wings, Sandwiches, ect.- 6 miles from Dollar General and A pizza Restaurant - 15 ish miles from Wal-mart and other chain stores and restaurants

I'm a great travel guide so feel free to tell me what your in town for or things you like to do.  I will happily make you up a list of things to do and see and places to eat.

Keenland, Churchill Downs, The Bourbon Tour (Jim Beam, Makers Mark, Heaven Hill, and many others) are within an hour of here.  Also within an hour are 2 great bike paths, wonderful hiking and kayaking.  As well as Great Shopping and Restaurants.  Anything your heart desires.

Learn more about this land:This is camping for people who want to carry their gear in.  Find their spot and prep it for a beautiful connection with nature.  If this is too rough for you.  We have cleared field areas that get you feet from nature with out being in the middle of the woods at night.  We have a wide range of experiences to cater to you.  We are a small farm that can cater to those who want to be alone in the woods to a full service hands on experience and everything in between.  Each visitors experience is customized to their wants.  No cookie cutter one size fits most at Knife & Fork Farm.  We have a bunk house that can be rented by the room, the 2nd floor or the entire house.  Meal plans, on farm experiences, and classes are available.
