Our lodging features treehouses, yurts, a bunkhouse, retro camper, water/electric hook-ups, and campsites. We also host weddings, retreats, and other events so advance reservations are required. For insurance purposes and the safety of our own livestock and pets, we do not allow guests to bring their pets/ESAs onto the property. Prepare to UNPLUG as we do not have cell service or wifi (there IS a landline for guests to make phone calls located in the Community Farmhouse). All guests from tent to treehouse have access to our solar-powered Community Farmhouse featuring a fully-stocked chef-inspired kitchen, restrooms, coin-op laundry, and upstairs multi-purpose room with a library and board games. There is also an outdoor kitchen area with additional cooking space including a grill, microwave, and sink (sink is closed in the winter so the pipes don’t freeze). Next to the Farmhouse is a massive pavilion with picnic tables for al fresco dining and firewood bundles to purchase. BRING CASH! Our seasonal bath house is generally open from April or May to October or November based on the prevailing temps. There are 4 flush toilets, 2 sinks, and 2 hot showers. The floors are concrete so we recommend shower shoes and you'll want to bring your own towels and shampoo/soap. The farm has a small playground, yard games, creeks, and a steep and rugged hiking trail that loops the mountain. We're also just 8 miles from the hiking trails at the Berea College Pinnacles, 8 miles to Owsley Fork Reservoir, 20 minutes to Anglin Falls, 12 miles to Berea, 35 minutes to Richmond, Ky, and a scenic hour to Red River Gorge. I loved the lake house! Waking up and watching the ducks on the lake while we prepared breakfast was a delight. We watched newts (we think?) play in the water during the day and walked in the woods. By night, we enjoyed the fire pit and had cozy times in the house playing board games and cuddling with our dogs. This was truly a dream location and can’t wait to come back.

2 nights at The Harrican Lakehouse

This cabin won me over the moment I walked in. It was warm, cozy, and the loft was surprisingly spacious. The porch is the real showstopper, and even though it was too cold to sit out for long, the views from every window were gorgeous. It even started snowing while we were there, which added this wild, magical atmosphere to the whole stay. The only downsides were the not-so-comfy seating, the heat being a little too powerful overnight, and the outhouse being a long chilly walk with a very rustic setup. None of it ruined the experience, but it is worth knowing before you go. Leslie loved the lake and all the open space to explore. I even had to hop in a kayak to fetch her ball when she refused to wade into the cold water, which felt like peak dog mom adventure energy. Slippers were clutch since the floors get cold and they were perfect for padding out onto the porch. The best moment was watching the sunrise roll in over the misty lake. Quiet, spooky, peaceful, and absolutely beautiful. I would stay again without hesitation.

My parents, myself and two dogs had an awesome weekend at the Harrican Lakehouse. It was super quiet, restful and exactly as marketed. It was chilly at night and we all stayed super cozy in the house and by the fire. The only thing I would recommend to future guests is to bring your own pillow and coffee pot if you and your guests drink multiple cups. The one provided is just a little small.

I stayed at this lake house on a road trip around Kentucky while visiting from Oregon. The location is very remote and private and the hosts were great! I even ended up adopting a puppy from them lol The lake is gorgeous especially at sunrise and sunset. There’s chairs on the wrap around deck, multiple kayaks, a fire pit (bring wood), and a dock. The lake house provides you with hand soap, towels, bedding. The kitchen has utensils/plates/bowls/pots/pans, a radio, a fridge/freezer, stove/oven, and sink. Bring your own dish soap and paper towels if needed. We spent the day fishing on the lake and doing a puzzle inside. I’d bring extra blankets if you are visiting in the fall as it gets chilly. Overall, a wonderful stay and I’d definitely visit again if I’m back in Kentucky!

Nice little place on a pond. Morning coffee with the sunrise on the porch. Evening sunset with the campfire. Woods for hiking and fields for walking. My dogs have decided that they love fishing and require a pond at our house now. The place looks well cared for and the host was friendly and quick to reply to any questions. I would definitely book again/recommend this place.

This was a very cute and cozy cabin on a private lot. Its has a great dock to sit, drink coffee, and read a book. The fire pit has a grate which was very convenient. I stayed at the Harrican Lakehouse with a friend on the way to Canada on motorcycles, what an amazing place. Bridgett is a great host and I’ll definitely be back.

This Lakehouse is what the photos show and SO MUCH MORE! The peace and contentment that comes with a walk on that porch is priceless! Floating in the kayak is pure heaven, and sunrise was absolutely magical! We look forward to coming back for years to come. Bridgette and her husband ( sorry his name escapes me I’m awful like that! ) were so very warm and welcoming! You’ll not regret this stay. Book as many nights as you can because you won’t want to leave!

Such a perfect weekend, we booked very last minute and Bridgett was very responsive, the little house was so cute and very clean. The pond was perfect size for maneuvering, our dog enjoyed the space as well! Will definitely be returning often. Dont forget the marshmallows!

Weekend Trip to The Harrican Lakehouse

Bridgett was very friendly and accommodating to requests such as early arrival and checking out late. Their property is amazing, especially if you’re wanting to get away into nature. The end of the drive is about 10-15 minutes at 25 mph down narrow streets through hills and farmland. The lake house itself has a perfect mix of charm and functionality (2 air conditioning units and a great ceiling fan on top floor!) with a kitchen with a good mix of dishes and pots and pans. I’d recommend staying up late on the back porch and waking up early before the sun rises to truly appreciate the wildlife and nature. I would love to visit again someday!

6 nights at The Honey Hut

This cabin and property is absolutely beautiful 😍. So peaceful and serene and QUIET! Hosts thought of absolutely everything. Early morning canoeing and being right up in the face of nature was so incredible. That upper back porch was everything! Spent so much time there just listening to nature sounds and watching the hummingbirds. Hosts were very kind and attentive when needed. Can't wait to come back!
