This area is an old tobacco and cattle farm on a point above Laurel Lake. We do a bit of farming and crafting when we can and thought we’d try and share our lovely spot! Much of the timber on the place is nearly 100 years old hardwoods, with a couple of fields throughout. I camp here myself too, and can recommend it for privacy!

I loved staying at this site and Bridgett was such a good host! I originally went to car camp for a few days and unfortunately it rained the first 2 days, Bridgett offered me to switch to the cabin and I was beyond grateful! Instead of being stuck inside my car all day I was able to enjoy the cabin by the lake, it was so cozy and I got to watch the rain on the lake from the covered porch, which was just magical. Despite the rain I had a great time and the property is beautiful! Bridgett is a great host and went above and beyond for my stay here.

By far, the best camping experience we have had in our decades of camping! Sites are large and spread out, area is super quiet, bathhouse is super clean with great water pressure. Best part is the community feel; owners encourage interaction with things like a community fire pit, and we had a lovely night with our fellow campers! There is even fresh produce for the taking, a huge dog park, and a wonderful outdoor play area (with clay pit!) for kids. We will be back!

So, I was originally supposed to be at "The Hammock House" because Harrington said it was booked at the time of me scheduling. Once I got there; the owner and I just adjusted, I paid the additional fee from one site to the other and I was able to get the house instead of the hammock site (which I would have had to set up a tent). THANK GOD I GOT THE HOUSE lol.
The location with proximity to the pond was perfect--wrap around porch with plenty of seating and right on the water. The house had everything you needed to stay for a week (we stayed 3 days). There were some cons but mostly pros! There is a shower, toilet but it is open in the only bedroom with a small divider. The water was hot to shower BUT it stunk horribly, from the sinks and the shower, once I used my soap and showered; I didn't smell from it. Privacy was wonderful and the property was beautiful, they already had kayaks we used--but no life vests. Host stated the pond was spring fed, the water was very clean with lilly pads and stocked. I had a great time with my son(13) and my dog. Host has a lot of dogs which followed her to the house to show us around, but never came down to the house afterwards. There aren't any TVs or cords to plug in phones so be sure to bring that (I did t, I thought I was going to be at a tent site)-- I like to take pictures. House is air conditioned with 2 wall units. All in all, I enjoyed it and would love to go back again.

We loved our stay here! We were in an area just to ourselves and even our own bath house. The bathroom and shower were made out of a horse trailer and were very clean and had hot water! They were very nice and explained to us how to use their facilities. We enjoyed being able to make our dinner by the river in the new fire pit. They even provided fire wood and kindling! It felt very private and was a big site to stay at. This was definitely my favorite place I have stayed at to camp and we would definitely come back!

Had a fantastic stay! Our kids, 3 and 6 didn't want to leave and now want to move to there. It's small and clean. The vegetable and herb planters you can pick from, is a nice touch. And the mud kitchen was a winner! The bathroom, showers and wash facility were top knot and the staff and owners all made us feel super welcomed. This is a top facility and I would visit again. (pro tip, don't go to a state park after this one!)

After having some difficulties with other campsites on Hipcamp, Gavin’s campsite was a lovely little haven. The campsite was private and perfect. Gavin is one of the most considerate and generous hosts I’ve experienced.. Not even 10 minutes had passed and Gavin was already driving down to us to introduce himself and provide us wood for the evening. Great location near Cumberland Falls! Highly recommend.

Bridgett is a wonderful host who is very easy to communicate with. I chose this location for my first solo camping trip in 40 years.
