We are on 7 beautiful acres in Baldwin City, KS. We're in town, but you'll feel like you're secluded in the country so you get the convenience of being close to downtown Baldwin, just 3 minutes away, while also feeling like you're in the middle of nowhere peacefully camping, just you and the birds. Our "glamper" is a 1960's retro camper that has been fully restored. The outside still looks very retro, but when you step inside you'll instantly surrender to the relaxation that awaits. Sink into the pile of fluffy pillows, take in the breathtaking boho vibe and the many amenities including A/C and Heat, wifi, a microwave, television with Netflix, refrigerator, waterless toilet and hand-washing sink. Games and snacks are tucked away in the kitchen area for you to enjoy your leisurely time at The Nest! With a large deck on the front you can take in the views of a nearby pond and a meandering creek which serves as a wildlife highway. I had a lovely stay at The Light Center. The barn was nice and inviting. There were plenty of books to read and a relaxing massage chair. I would have liked to explore the trails while I was there, but it was freezing and I did not pack accordingly. 😅 Susan's was a lovely host and I would recommend anyone to stay.

Unique stay under the stars and close by to many nice trails. Host was kind and communicative. Rained on our last day but was fun to sleep in and watch the rain come down on the glass ceiling. Had lots of deer visitors. Great fall stay.

The yurt is set back on a trail that is peaceful, beautiful and quiet, but very near the barn. The barn is a lovely well kept community space with a cozy finished kitchen two bathrooms, large dining space a library. I wish we could've stayed longer to explore the light center. It is a wonderful place with great energy.

What a wonderful little space! I stayed with one other camper and the accommodations were perfect! The “nest” you’ll be staying in is beautiful decorated, cozy, and very comfortable. The land is gorgeous, private, and has almost everything you’ll need for an outdoor stay including a fire pit, plenty of seating, a small outdoor toilet space, and some good forest views ✨ I appreciated that there are some good hiking trails located around the area that you can drive to quickly. If you want to find more excursions, the host has a book in the nest that outlines all sorts of fun things to do in the area! Overall, a really great experience perfect for solo, couples, or small groups!

Staying in the Redtail Yurt was so serene and peaceful. It felt private but was a short walk to the community amenities. There were lovely trails into woods and meadows around the property, and we loved seeing the free range chickens and goats wandering around. The yurt was cozy and had comfy beds with clean bedding. 1 night at The Nest at Duck's Landing

We were honored to be some of the first hipcampers to stay at this property! The hosts were so friendly and welcoming and readily answered every question we had. All amenities were as described, and they even offered to start a campfire for us upon arrival. There are plenty of scenic views to take in, and the hosts provided a variety of seating and shelters around the property. A detailed guide was provided that gave instructions to electronics in the camper, as well as suggestions for local outings, and was much appreciated!

The Light Center was beautiful and welcoming! My friend and I had a delightful and meaningful time meditating, soaking in nature, and sitting around the fire pit talking while our girls played. The butterflies were amazing, and the fireflies were like nature's rave. We saw a little armadillo buddy too. The Yurt amenities were well thought out. I took a battery pack for my CPAP. We'll be back!!

Had a great weekend at Red Tail Yurt. The setting is super peaceful and remote, just what I was hoping for. The yurt itself is huge (photos don’t do it justice), with tons of room for a family or group. It has a cozy, glamping vibe — nicer than tent camping but still very connected to nature. The barn with the kitchen and bathroom is a quick walk away. There’s a composting toilet in the yurt, but I just used the barn. The host was friendly and very responsive. If you’re going in summer, bring a fan and some batteries. Also plan ahead for cooking — either over the fire or in the barn kitchen. Would definitely stay again.
