A hidden gem in Topeka, KS. Roughly 44 acres and 41 buildings and cabins for your stay. We have a creek that runs through the property and you can bring your kayak or fishing poles. We are on 7 beautiful acres in Baldwin City, KS. We're in town, but you'll feel like you're secluded in the country so you get the convenience of being close to downtown Baldwin, just 3 minutes away, while also feeling like you're in the middle of nowhere peacefully camping, just you and the birds. Our "glamper" is a 1960's retro camper that has been fully restored. The outside still looks very retro, but when you step inside you'll instantly surrender to the relaxation that awaits. Sink into the pile of fluffy pillows, take in the breathtaking boho vibe and the many amenities including A/C and Heat, wifi, a microwave, television with Netflix, refrigerator, waterless toilet and hand-washing sink. Games and snacks are tucked away in the kitchen area for you to enjoy your leisurely time at The Nest! With a large deck on the front you can take in the views of a nearby pond and a meandering creek which serves as a wildlife highway. I had a lovely stay at The Light Center. The barn was nice and inviting. There were plenty of books to read and a relaxing massage chair. I would have liked to explore the trails while I was there, but it was freezing and I did not pack accordingly. 😅 Susan's was a lovely host and I would recommend anyone to stay.

The yurt is set back on a trail that is peaceful, beautiful and quiet, but very near the barn. The barn is a lovely well kept community space with a cozy finished kitchen two bathrooms, large dining space a library. I wish we could've stayed longer to explore the light center. It is a wonderful place with great energy.

Staying in the Redtail Yurt was so serene and peaceful. It felt private but was a short walk to the community amenities. There were lovely trails into woods and meadows around the property, and we loved seeing the free range chickens and goats wandering around. The yurt was cozy and had comfy beds with clean bedding. We will definitely be back!

We were honored to be some of the first hipcampers to stay at this property! The hosts were so friendly and welcoming and readily answered every question we had. All amenities were as described, and they even offered to start a campfire for us upon arrival. There are plenty of scenic views to take in, and the hosts provided a variety of seating and shelters around the property. A detailed guide was provided that gave instructions to electronics in the camper, as well as suggestions for local outings, and was much appreciated!

The Light Center was beautiful and welcoming! My friend and I had a delightful and meaningful time meditating, soaking in nature, and sitting around the fire pit talking while our girls played. The butterflies were amazing, and the fireflies were like nature's rave. We saw a little armadillo buddy too. The Yurt amenities were well thought out. I took a battery pack for my CPAP. We'll be back!!

Had a great weekend at Red Tail Yurt. The setting is super peaceful and remote, just what I was hoping for. The yurt itself is huge (photos don’t do it justice), with tons of room for a family or group. It has a cozy, glamping vibe — nicer than tent camping but still very connected to nature. The barn with the kitchen and bathroom is a quick walk away. There’s a composting toilet in the yurt, but I just used the barn. The host was friendly and very responsive. If you’re going in summer, bring a fan and some batteries. Also plan ahead for cooking — either over the fire or in the barn kitchen. Would definitely stay again.

The Light Center property is absolutely amazing! I was able to chat with Susan, the land owner and felt absolutely at home with her warm welcome. The yurt was perfect for a group of us to stay in. Very private, extremely quiet and so dark at night! There’s a creek to play in and wonderful hiking through natural woods and grass. The community barn is definitely an added bonus! We will be back! ☺️

This is a special place. I felt so warmly welcomed and there was a wonderful comfortable bed made and waiting for us. We built a fire in the fire pit, enjoyed an outdoor meal, walked the maintained trails. We had a nice outing in Lawrence and my partner and I had a lovely restful stay.
