Come and spend some time at a direct-to-consumer dairy farm. Our cows are called Dutch Belted. They are often referred to as Oreo cows. Stay on the farm where the milk is produced, processed, and sold. The farm store is a short distance away and sells a large variety of farm foods. The farm consists of about 200 acres of pasture and creek bottom. The owner, Loyd, has lived on the farm all his life. We are right beside what used to be a Navy base... yeah in Kansas.:) The runway still gets used for gliders. So you might see a glider being pulled up while you are here.

The Hughes Holler camp site is located in the mix grassed prairie of central Kansas. The site was once a homestead of some of the early pioneers of the area. While none of the remnants of the former farmstead remain. The the tranquility of sitting at a campfire on the banks of the pond can let ones mind wonder about what life would have been like living there in days gone by. The site includes a spring fed pond with abundant fishing, predominately white bass. Guests are allowed to keep any fish they wish to eat on site. But please release any others back into the pond. There is a wooded area which provides nice shade for an area to relax from the Kansas summer sun and wind. Campers can also enjoy a camp fire either pond side of underneath the trees. Sleeping accommodations are in a deluxe water proof tent. There are 2 queen air mattress which will comfortably sleep 4 people. There is also a composting toilet on site. I am proud to be a fourth-generation caretaker of this farm and surrounding acreage. My great-grandfather purchased this land in 1921 and since then, my family has been farming the best way that we knew how. We are 24 minutes from Cosmosphere in Hutchinson, Kansas. At Hastago Farm we have sheep, goats, steers, chickens, ducks, and they live out on the pasture. We have fresh farm eggs daily. Goat milk is available seasonably. It is peaceful, calm, and quiet here at Hastago. You don't want to miss the sunrises and sunsets. You might even see some deer and turkeys pass by in the fields.

Beverly’s hipcamp was the perfect place to stop on our roadtrip out west. The dogs had so much fun exploring the space and Beverly was so incredibly kind and welcoming. It unexpectedly rained most of the night and we were able to set up a cozy spot to relax and unwind after a long day of driving inside the Whitehouse. We loved the spot so much we will be staying on our return trip back home!!!

We were honored to host Rover and his family as their first Glamping experience together. Fun, friendly. We will be their refuge from the big city as needed.

We had such a wonderful time at Beverly's! It's a very peaceful spot, and Beverly made sure we had everything we could POSSIBLY want. She even brought us a table and chairs to use. We really couldn't have asked for a better host, and her animals were just as wonderful too. Still, one of the MOST outstanding things about our stay was getting to know Beverly herself. If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely stay there.

I recommend taking a walk or bike ride on the trail adjacent to the property. Beverly is an involved host and will make sure you have everything you need. We would stay again.

Fairly level, quiet campsites with lots of leeway in where you park your vehicle. Charming small farm atmosphere with what Beverly called her “motley crew” of two sheep, one goat and two small, well-behaved dogs which got along well with our dog. Meadowlark Trail is about five minutes’ walk away.

This was one of those stays where everything just felt right. The campsite itself is spacious and peaceful, surrounded by a beautiful garden that carries its own calm energy. I loved the land—it holds you in a way that feels grounding and free at the same time. Beverly's openness added to the experience without ever feeling intrusive. She even offered me the option of staying in her little teardrop RV, which was such a generous touch. Her dogs, were friendly, playful, and brought a lot of joy to the space. Honorable mention to the sheep and goat who were also a very nice addition to the farm experience. Overall, it was more than just camping—it was connection, beauty, and ease. Great experience staying on a working farm. Their food store changed the way i will eat from now on. All grass fed animals and the best cheeses. My only regret is that i didn’t buy more cheese curd. Their store is open 24/7 and is on the honor system for payment. Farmers are the best.

7 nights at Borntrager Dairy

We absolutely loved this spot! Full hookups, tons of privacy, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and great access for our big rig (45' toy hauler). We enjoyed watching the cows come in and out of the field for milking each day, as well as the funny guinea hens pecking about. The farm store is AMAZING - delicious milk, butter, yogurt, ice cream, eggs, breads, canned goods...I could go on. DEFINITELY make sure you stop into the store! We spent a week here at the farm and each night we walked down Halstead Rd for a bit to stretch our legs and most evenings we saw an Amish horse and buggy go by which was a fun treat. We enjoyed exploring Yoder and Hutchinson - what a great area overall. We've stayed at several HipCamps in the last year and this one was our favorite so far. We will be back!!!

The Steampunk tiny house was super clean, comfortable, and amazingly decorated. The thought put into the furnishings, lighting, and decorating was amazing. We stayed in the outstanding pink tiny house previously and we will definitely stay at one of Joan's tiny houses next time we pass through Kansas. Close to Hays (and the excellent Gella's diner/brewpub) and the Basilica of St. Fidelis in Victoria.
