It is a working farm which naturally takes people, but it is unlikely you will encounter any other campers. Please keep in mind, the only running water is the creek and the only electricity comes from a single solar panel. We truck water in for showers and provide enough port-a-potties to match the event. Nestled 1/4 mile back from a main road but, only five minutes from The Village of Kingsley, MI with grocery store, gas station, brewery, shops, library, splash park, restaurants and more! You will stay at a rustic campsite with room for a tent or small RV. Recently we have added a 25 ft by 12 foot camping cabin. We provide one queen size air mattress and linens including pillows, sheets and a quilt. There is a private solar shower at each campsite. We do provide a clean well maintained port o potty for use.

1 night at Lucky Star Farm

Susan greeted us outside the camper when we arrived & we instantly felt at home. She has such a lovely presence & Lucky Star Farm is truly magical! Their vintage camper, “Betty” is adorable, meticulously clean, & thoughtfully stocked. We were quickly greeted by several resident barn cats & could see llamas, goats, & sheep from our little patio. We loved everything about our stay & definitely plan to visit again with our kids! Thank you so much, Susan & Rich! Hope to see you again soon!

The farm is a beautiful place to visit. I love the mix of camping types, allowing use both tent and cabins. The conservation areas are beautiful and Anna is a wonderful host. The Farm tour is definitely worth the price as an add on!

Weekend Trip to Lucky Star Farm

My daughter and I stayed in the Oh Betty camper and it was such a great time! Although it looks small from the outside it is actually quite spacious inside, with all of the amenities you need including a flush toilet and a space heater for those chilly evenings. Susan was such a wonderful host, you can tell she is really passionate about what she does and it shines through in her attention to detail. She took the time to let us play with the goats and also explained a bit about all of the animals, which my daughter loved. Goat yoga was so much fun and the teacher created a welcoming environment for all ages, bodies, and abilities. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique weekend getaway, Lucky Star Farm is so peaceful and a great way to reset!

Weekend Trip to Folk School Farm Stay

I had an amazing stay in the Indigo Pod on Anna’s property! It was a perfect place for a reset after the busy holiday season. It was quiet, comfortable and relaxing with no distractions. I was able to journal and catch up on some reading during my stay. The supply of hot tea and kettle were a lovely touch. I enjoyed a cup as I watched the fog roll over the Iowa farm fields in the mornings. There is also a community kitchen where I could prepare nutritious meals instead of getting take out. Being able to roam the property and be in nature also helped with my holiday reset! I highly recommend Anna’s place to anyone wanting time away to refocus and relax. It has everything you need without the distraction!
