I stayed at the Eagle’s Nest. I loved the little cabin especially since no tent was needed. The front deck was perfect for cooking and the view was spectacular. Scott was extremely attentive to my every need. He met me and helped load my gear in his trailer which was pulled by his 4-wheeler. As much as I loved the Eagle’s nest, the riverfront campsites looked very inviting. Scott has engineered a rain water shower, so I used my solar camp shower to heat the water. Perfect! Give this place a try!

I highly suggest booking ahead of time so the check in process goes smoothly. But overall the campground was nice quality, quiet, and had a lot of kid activity options like playgrounds and play structures. We stayed in the cabins, but the tv spaces were nice and spaced out and saw lots of land for camping. The staff was helpful in ensuring the guest experience went well.

The farm is a beautiful place to visit. I love the mix of camping types, allowing use both tent and cabins. The conservation areas are beautiful and Anna is a wonderful host. The Farm tour is definitely worth the price as an add on!

Weekend Trip to Beyonder Getaway at Lazy Acres

It’s a very nice campground. I was supposed to get one for the cabins but a mistake was made and my cabin given away. The staff was very nice and they upgraded me to the house that’s on the grounds. The house was nice and clean but I missed having the experience of the cabins is booked. Also, the WiFi would not connect to the TVs in the house. The owner did call me personally to check on my stay the next day which was a nice, personal touch.

Scott & Kimberly were wonderful hosts. Upon arrival Scott offered to help cart my gear to the site with their 4x4 & wagon. The "cabin" was simple but perfect in every way. A nice balcony with a table & chairs and your own personal WC. The grounds are very large and easily walked with benches along the way to stop and take in the scenery of the rock cliffs, the Mother Tree, the pond and pasture, and several river vantage points. I spent hours lying in a hammock by the river with the sun and breeze blowing over me - it was glorious. I wish the weather had been nicer but it afforded me time to explore the local area with many state parks and sites of interest within an hours drive. A highlight of the trip was my massage. Truly a one-of-a-kind experience! I will certainly make it a goal to come visit again soon! Thank you for sharing your lovely property!

Hey we had fun, it certainly was an adventure for us...It is 'just a shed. but that is what we were expecting. No ementies, no bed so we brought our own. Fun stay, even our dogs enjoyed it. Next time we might try one of the other bookings there.

Weekend Trip to Folk School Farm Stay

I had an amazing stay in the Indigo Pod on Anna’s property! It was a perfect place for a reset after the busy holiday season. It was quiet, comfortable and relaxing with no distractions. I was able to journal and catch up on some reading during my stay. The supply of hot tea and kettle were a lovely touch. I enjoyed a cup as I watched the fog roll over the Iowa farm fields in the mornings. There is also a community kitchen where I could prepare nutritious meals instead of getting take out. Being able to roam the property and be in nature also helped with my holiday reset! I highly recommend Anna’s place to anyone wanting time away to refocus and relax. It has everything you need without the distraction!

Camp sites are very private and tucked away from life's stresses. Relax in the woods. Watch the cows and calves moo in the nearby pasture. Walk nature trails with native wildlife and flora. Great photo opportunities abound. Cast a line to catch dinner. Escape to nature is the key to this property; find yourself tucked away from city sounds and light pollution. Come out to see the sunset/sunrise, check out the stars, read a good book, lay out in your favorite hammock, find yourself, and be at peace. Great place for a nice camping fire; treat yourself to some smores. Peaceful sounds at night of the river flowing as you drift off to sleep in your tent. Perfect little spot for peaceful relaxation and just taking some time. Walk the trails in your natural skin, shoot photos of all the different plants, listen to the birds and animals scurry, enjoy the sunshine, and feel the warmth on all of your body. Put in your canoe or kayak at Olin for a 3-4 hour float to our camping area. There are lots of state parks within a short drive; visit the only Presidential library in Iowa; and tour some amazing caves in nearby parks. Enjoy the Great Jones County Fair only 30 mins away.. So much to do, and then come back to a space without crowds and just chill. Welcoming to all, we love to meet new people and let them share in the joy of bonding with nature freely.
