We love animals, plants, art, and outdoor recreation and love sharing these things with people! We found the perfect little plot for all of these things we love. Nature, art, animals, and lots of space! The hilly, lush land is also known as the Bohemie Alps and it's quite a beautiful area tucked away in Iowa.
Visit with the llamas, goats, peacocks, potbelly pigs and the horses and hike around the property or stay in for a quiet stay with a good book and enjoy all the sights and sounds. Lots of extra 'add ons' to enhance the experience, like a waffle bar kit, smore's package, hikes, and more!

Threshold Learning Center is 28 acres of prairie, creek, woods, and our barn dormitory. Threshold is first, an outdoor learning center for schools during the school year, and a summer camp offering several day camps, family camps, and trips. As a non-profit, however, we are constantly trying to find a way to offer our programs to everyone regardless of whether they are able to pay our fees while still making enough money to stay open. We started renting TLC to the public 5 years ago for weddings, reunions, or just families who are looking to connect to the world around them. Our motto is "No Child Left Inside" and we want every inner child to enjoy what we have at TLC. We have 7 bedrooms in our dormitory, 5 camp sites, a large camp fire ring, a mini-golf course, and we are always willing to lead your group in an educational experience or take you on a hayrack ride.

We really enjoyed our stay at Pilgrim Heights! We originally booked the Pinn Oak Cabin/bunkhouse but it was unavailable. The staff were quick to respond and moved us to the oak Lodge, which honestly better suited our needs. We found the lodge to be spacious, clean, comfortable with a full kitchen, full bath, and even a little bunk house. The only thing that I have to say as constructive feedback is that there was a coffee pot and coffee filters, but no coffee. Also, one wall of the lodge is almost entirely windows and the window coverings are somewhat limited so when the sun came up a little after six, we were up with it. Still no complaints and we stopped for coffee locally after a well rested night. I would recommend to other others and we would definitely stay again. Although we didn’t get to enjoy the amenities, the grounds were beautiful with a large fire pit and a beautiful view of sportsman Lake.

If you're looking for a break from everyday life, this is the place!
Jess & Jim are welcoming, accommodating and super helpful if you need something (like going out to get propane, swapping it out & coming in to start the fireplace- thanks again, Jim!)
Such a special spot & they make it feel like a "home away from home" - offering beautiful yurts & cabins, add-ons like dry firewood and a waffle bar (HIGHLY RECCOMEND!), a spacious farm filled with fun & quirky animals and hidden gems all throughout the property.
I can't put it into words just how grateful I am for Windy Goat Acres, Jess & Jim, and a spot where I can just breathe and rest my soul.

Husband and I stayed in Lady Morphia's cabin on Valentine's Day. Absolutely perfect getaway. The waffle bar was worth adding on!!!! The little baby goat fell asleep in my arms. BEAUTIFUL kitty gave us some love. Wouldn't change a thing. We will definitely be back.

It’s a beautiful space, even - or especially- after leaf fall. In a valley with a mix of woods, shrubs, and meadows, and some wooded hills. The barnyard has the noisiest, most active and spirited farm animals I’ve ever seen. Sometimes the horses roam the grounds freely and approach you for treats. At sunset, the hills of surrounding properties are glowing yellow. Jess has created random, whimsical spaces all over the property that make it feel like an enchanted fairy forest.

We booked a quick couples getaway to Windy Goats are were pleasantly surprised. The cabin had everything we could have needed and more - air fryer, hot plate, microwave, coffee maker + coffee, fridge, towels, comfy bed and a relaxing view.
We loved walking around and getting to see the animals in such a laid back vibe. At night we popped over to the garden bar to hand out and have a drink. What a magical setup.
We ordered the add on wafffles in the morning and they were delish! Plus a bit of fun to have it all brought to you to make in the morning.
Would recommend checking this gem out!

We loved Lady Morphia’s! Cozy and comfortable space. Loved the fireplace& fire pit on a cool fall evening. Would’ve loved to stay longer to go through the great book collection in the loft bedroom. Morning coffee on the front porch with the Bohemia Alps views was a lovely way to start the day.

The Llama Llama Sunrise Cabin is beautiful! It's very cozy and inviting. I was worried, unnecessarily, that I'd forget to pack things - Jess has the cabin stocked with everything you may need. The big windows were beautiful at night. You can see the stars from the bed. We enjoyed exploring the property and meeting the animals. It was a very peaceful experience with wine in the tub under the stars and coffee on the deck in the morning while watching the animals.

We loved our experience. It was nice to get away from the city and have a relaxing experience among the animals. We had a mule at the garden bar and enjoyed learning more about the property from one of the owners. There is fun art pieces around the property. We walked the trail and it was a nice hike. There was a fire pit outside our cabin where we grilled our dinner while having a beautiful view of the animals. Highly recommend checking out this unique property for a relaxing stay.

The perfect getaway with our baby! The cabin was very comfortable with wonderful amenities included. Thank goodness for the A/C since it was a warmer weekend than we expected it would be. Loved all the little extras like all the books and record player. It was awesome to get some farm fresh eggs and firewood delivered to our door. We would definitely love to come back!

Everything is so beautiful and serene. We stayed in the llama llama sunrise chalet and the name is exactly what you get. A beautiful small cabin with windows facing the sunrise, overlooking the llamas and all the other animals. We woke up to peacocks on our little porch every morning. Some nice friends to sit and share a coffee with. Jess and Jim were wonderful and talked with us about all the different animal friends and their stories. Couldn't recommend more. Or new favorite getaway.
