Our family had an amazing experience at this campsite! The campsites are very clean and so spacious. The kids had a blast fishing in the pond and exploring all the nature around us. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making our stay even better. We highly recommend this campsite for a fun and relaxing family getaway!

Earl & Lisa's land is a very nice place to camp. They take good care of everything and are very friendly. The campsites are well laid out and the bathroom & shower were very clean.

Loved the escorted entry by a cute mini car looking type of golfcart. I followed them into the dark star filled campground barely lit with twinkly lights to indicate campsights on the plush grassy grounds. Fully stocked complimentary firewood, tables, late checkout option and fabulous big private shower, as well as an outside sink for washing dishes. Shade trees at nearly every site as well as firepit with grill on most. Definitely recommend taking a walk along the property easy hiking trails with blackberries in the way back. Extremely friendly hosts with farm fresh eggs for purchase. I got 1/2 dozen for $2 and they were amazing. My service dog was ecstatic to have her run of the place because there weren't any other dogs at the time. Very pet friendly place with ducks swimming on a little pond. Adirondack chairs were pond side to sit and gaze at them if you so choose. Just absolutely charming. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Earl & Lisa were incredibly kind and welcoming, going above and beyond throughout our stay! We had privacy on our site, and room for three tents, while being close to the bathroom and pond. We enjoyed farm fresh eggs and a large load of firewood that we were able to add on while at the site. We loved feeding the ducks/fish, playing cornhole and lawn games in the common area, and relaxing at the campsite in the shade. Bathroom was incredibly clean, and we appreciated the outdoor sink and garbage can. We had a great two nights and would absolutely return!

Great spot for an overnight. Would be a fun place to rent out the entire place and do a family reunion. Wonderful shower and bathroom! Only downside was the highway and train noise. Otherwise fantastic. The camp hosts are wonderful.

The property is absolutely beautiful, and the hosts are just as amazing! Extremely sweet and active around the property. They checked in with us a few times during our stay to make sure my dog and I were comfortable in the extreme heat we had, even offered AC to help keep us cool! All around amazing experience! Cant wait till I can book another camping trip here soon!!

Weekend Trip to Lochloosa River Retreat

We loved our weekend camping trip at Lochloosa River Retreat! The entire experience was seamless from beginning to end. We stayed at the River View camp site and weren’t disappointed. Perfect view of the Tippecanoe River from atop a high hillside with a nice camp area that was mostly private. The weather was hot but we enjoyed the beautiful pool and hot tub which made it much more pleasant. We booked a kayak trip for the late morning and were driven to the starting point by both Nicole and her husband Jack. She gave us clear instructions about what to look for and approximately how long our trip would take. A recent storm may have caused some fallen trees that might have blocked our trip but luckily we had no issues. The wildlife was abundant and the serene landscape was just what we needed. We bought some firewood for our nightly campfires and enjoyed fresh eggs for breakfast cooked over an open fire. The goats and chickens were a treat for this former farm kid. If I had to make any suggestions it would be for a portable toilet near the wooded sites as it’s a bit of walk to the restrooms and showers, but otherwise everything was great! We hope to return again and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Thanks Nicole and Jack for being wonderful hosts!

We had such a lovely time during our night at this charming private campsite! From the moment we arrived, the hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming. The highlight for our kids was definitely the small pond – they spent their time fishing, watching the ducks and spotting turtles! The shower and toilet facilities were clean and worked perfectly. We all truly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend this place.

We absolutely loved our experience tent camping on Earl and Lisa’s land! They were incredibly kind and communicative, very quick to reply to messages and accommodated us last minute too! The bathroom was very nice and clean, and it was one of the quieter campsites we’ve stayed at. We felt very safe and comfortable here. We were grateful that they welcomed our dog too as that can be tough to find. Highly recommend if you’re in the area! Thanks again Earl and Lisa!

Earl and Lisa's land was beautiful and well maintained, with enough privacy from other campers and birds constantly chirping. Site #6 provided the perfect one-night getaway and would certainly be suitable for a longer stay. the fresh eggs provided were a lovely touch, as well.

My kids (ages 6-19) loved the rope swing. We enjoyed the remote location to be together as a family. They were very warm welcoming hosts.

5 nights at Have A Lake Of Your Own!

The cabin was easy to get to but felt far away from the real world. We enjoyed having a fire in the pit every night and cooking our dinner and s'mores over it. The owner was always prompt and accessible for any questions we had. Would recommend if you're looking for a primitive cabin site.

We had a great time staying at Sleek acres. Lisa and Earl put a lot of work into their property to ensure campers enjoy their experience and it is clear they take pride in both the property and hosting campers. They truly went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed and had what we needed to be comfortable. The campsites are clean and flat and despite some recent rain the ground wasn’t muddy or flooded—perfect for setting up camp. The property is a working homestead, definitely get some eggs for breakfast and ask to feed the fish. This camping experience was the highlight of our trip.

Pretty cozy. Nice view on the pond. Bathroom clean. The owners provided firewood (thanks!!). Quite spacious and the fire pit is very nice. Had a late check in and were still super well welcomed. Just watch out for the tics.

Sleek Acres

Sleek Acres is a total of 13 acres, which includes our homestead, our chicken yard and barn, a fishing pond, and over 8 secluded acres to the back of the property where guests can explore (including walking trails). There are hungry catfish and bass in the pond who are always happy to be fed (we provide the fish food). Fishing is allowed, but catch and release only (under 12"), please! A small group of ducks live on the pond and will happily greet you as you walk to the beach. Relax at the beach in the morning as you enjoy your coffee and watch the fish, ducks, and turtles swim in the pond. Fire rings and picnic tables are provided at each site. A small amount of firewood is provided, and additional firewood is available for purchase. We have two charcoal grills available for your use. We provide a bathhouse, which includes a toilet and shower. A handwash/dishwashing station is located right outside the bathhouse. Our chickens are happy to take any food leftovers you don't want! You can walk right up to the fence and they will greet you. You may also see deer, fox, groundhogs, and many beautiful birds in the camping area. Located central to many destinations, we are 5 minutes from All-Sports Koontz Lake; 10 minutes from Plymouth, plenty of shopping and home of the Blueberry Festival (Labor Day weekend); 10 minutes from Walkerton, home of the Falloween Fest (Sept. 26, 27, 28); 25 minutes from Valparaiso; and 50 minutes from Notre Dame.
