30 years ago this was a pay lake it has been shut down for years. I got it a few years ago for a family getaway. So there is some really nice fish in the lakes. We have a outside kitchen with a gas grill, gas griddle and sink.we also have a sink for your use. There is also a toilet with a flushing toilet. 

The Farm-ish Camp & Gather Barn

Camp and gather at our family owned farm- The Farm-ish Momstead, also known as The Martin Family Farm. Available for primitive camping, day use, or event gathering. Amenities could include the use of the event barn for groups and events, a lake, fishing (bring your own pole and tackle, kayak or SUPs), bonfire pits, a shelter house, and a reliving farm experience if you choose to take part- beef cows, dairy goats (often including milking and goat kids), a mini highland cow, and chickens. 
Included in your stay is our resident Safety Manager, our collie Tilly. Please know she has a job to do and her best tool is her voice. You may hear barking as she keeps critters away. Other than that, she’s super friendly, although she may forget her manners at times and jump when excited. 

Backer Half Hundred Acres

Great piece of secluded land with a cool fire pit and some great walking trails. Chairs and fire tools available. We have 62 acres in total, with a homemade suspension bridge, a tree house, chickens, goats, and a friendly dog. A small spring-fed stream runs right by camp. Plenty of nature to see and enjoy out here.

Valley View Lodge in Western Kentucky

Come enjoy a cabin stay without roughing it! We are located in the heart of whitetail deer country in Western Kentucky. Featuring a small lake and a front porch complete with a swing, the cabin sits next to woodlands. A gas log fireplace stands ready for those extra cold evenings and the large attached garage is perfect for hunting gear and storage. The property is private yet close to the highway and less than 4 miles from food, fuel, and other essentials. There is ample parking and a fire pit!
The space
Our cabin is located within .5 miles of the Tradewater River boat access where you can launch a canoe or kayak. We are 20 miles from an Amish community where many locally produced farm goods are sold. In addition, Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area is approximately 50 miles away.
Guest access
There is additional open-air storage under the roof on the backside of the building. The garage has 2 doors that open to either side of the building which can create an open-air pavilion for rainy-day activities.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Watch beautiful sunsets and get close to nature while sitting on a west-facing patio or the large sitting porch complete with rocking chairs. You can definitely get away from it all here. Home sits in the middle of 120 acres of farmland now held in the Conservation Reserve Program which promotes wildlife habitat in beautiful Western Kentucky.
The space
This one-of-a-kind hideaway is for guests who want quiet, privacy, and a country setting. The house has been completely updated and offers the kind of getaway we all need from time to time!
Guest access
The house and the surrounding 2 acres are available to guests. The other 118 acres are reserved for wildlife habitat.
Other things to note
Although the farm is just 1 mile from the nearest highway, you will feel like you are much further away from the hustle and bustle. You can stay connected with our Starlink internet service even though you are in the country.

15 Acre Wood on Lake


300 feet behind our house  is a fire pit, then 15 acres of wood. around an acre lake. We have a boat and you can swim. There's an out house (and use of the woods is ok too) .There is plenty of wood and plenty of forest fun. No motorized Vehicles allowed. No weapons. No hunting. We want to share our land with other lovers of the woods,  plants and animals. Like good "scouts", we expect our campers to leave the site the way they find it, tidy . We have recycle and trash containers. There is a drinking water source at the house. Responsible use of alcohol is accepted but drugs or anything that  impairs physical safety, is  prohibited.

Our spot is not far off 64 and close to 69. It's a late 1800's farmhouse with an antique barn situated in the middle of an industrial park, so it is loud during the day.
Since we've added a gravel parking lot for barn concerts, there are just a few camping spots. Vehicles are welcome. We usually have a portajohn. 

You can sit around a fire on our property and look at the stars by night (when there's not a fire ban).

The Blue Grass Fish and Wildlife Area is a just a bit up the road. You could ride your bikes there, kayak, canoe, fish, etc.

Places of Sanctuary

Places of Sanctuary has 30 Acres of woods which include several dedicated hiking trails with beautiful clearings and benches for resting and reflecting along the way. You're welcome to fish in the pond that has plenty of shade and sun, or sit around the bonfire site where we have benches provided and roast marshmallows. With two easy-access large tree houses, bench swings and a big picnic shelter, there's lots of room to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. You might encounter wildlife like: deer, mink, or geese, but you're sure to see our chickens and ducks running around and hear our rooster crow in the morning. Depending on the time and season, we offer several hands on experiences with berry picking, chicken tending, food processing, gardening, and general light land maintenance like checking the trails for down limbs and trash.  With gorgeous views and the convenience of being just 10 minutes from University Southern Indiana or 15 minutes from restaurants and stores, we welcome you to camp with us. If you are interested in staying longer than 3 nights or your RV/camper is longer than 36 feet long, please message us to see if we can accommodate your visit. Usually we can!
