We had a really lovely stay overall. The ambience of the place was peaceful, beautiful, and exactly what we were hoping for. It felt like a true escape into nature. Sam was wonderful — very kind and accommodating — and even opened up the whole place for us, which made the experience feel extra special and private.
Since it was the off-season, the kids didn’t get the chance to feed the farm animals, But we understand that timing and season can affect farm activities.
Still, it was a relaxing and unique experience, and we truly appreciated the Sam’s hospitality.

We stayed here this past weekend ⛺️ and I have to say that one of the main reasons we chose this camp site was because of peoples reviews and also the Yurts 🛖 the yurts really got our attention! We got there friday and we met Sam. ( Sam is the BEST 🙌) while we were talking last details, Sam mentioned to us that next day ( Saturday) they were having a Harvest Festival! So we were going to be in between cars and people going in and out all day so we asked Sam if by any chance there was another spot available? No Yurts were available for that weekend, but then he offered us to stay in the apartments they have on the lower level of the learning center! And let me tell you what a BIG game changer 🙌 having a private bathroom and shower is a BIG + specially for women and kids 👌 we had a group of 11 people, so those apartments were more than perfect for having the family under one roof 👏. We really love and enjoyed our stay in this campground 🙌 everyone there was so nice and welcoming 👏 kids love the pizza, the back woods and the creek👌 we had the BEST weather ever 🙌 sunny mornings, chilly and quiet nights😮💨🔥 I will definitely have to go back to stay in a Yurt, or in my tent in the woods✅ and again THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING SAM 👏.

We absolutely loved our time at the Hungry World Farm. Not only is Sam accommodating and kind, the Farm is a great cause that we will not hesitate to recommend to those we know looking for either a quick getaway or a breath from daily life. We had the *best* glamping tent and even got to spend time with a cute farm kitty that wandered into our site. The farm tour was informative, and the vegetables we had the pleasure of getting were delicious!

Sam was great to communicate with, quick and detailed. The yurt was great and had more amenities than I'd expected. The only thing I wasn't aware of going in is that there is only one bathroom/shower available for everyone. There was a large group staying at the same time we were so it was difficult to be able to use the facilities when you needed and without a wait.

My friends & I were looking for a yurt/tipi to stay in not too far from Chicago when we stumbled upon this hidden gem! We weren’t sure what to expect but, wow, what a sweet getaway. We were welcomed right away by Sam & had such a wonderful time exploring the land and making yummy food at our campsite. We got a tour (with others staying that weekend) & it was so amazing (do not skip!) We stayed for one night while traveling from Colorado to Michigan. The cozy cabin and location provided us with a quiet restful sleep. The campground was a perfect location with several nearby restaurants and the canal trail system right there for a nice walk.

The forest view glamping tent and site were lovely. The tent was spacious, comfortable, and clean and it was so helpful to have a small fridge and fans for sleeping. The campsite was also large and private - we could hear nearby groups but not see them, and we made good use of the fire pit and picnic table. The farm learning center/restroom were a short walk away and we enjoyed frequent visits from one of the friendly farm cats!

I brought my 7 year old for only 2 nights and we could have spent several more days easily. We explored the creek, spent time with the animals, and learned about regenerative farming. The folks were kind and welcoming and the veggies were delicious!! Definitely planning to come back.

We loved our glamping stay at Hungry World Farm in the Forest Glamping Queen Bed spot. True to its name, the tent was nestled in the woods, far enough away from the other sites to feel totally private, but close enough to the bathroom and learning center building amenities to be convenient. The tour of the working farm and gardens was really impressive, and the nearby perennial garden was exploding with color, bees, and butterflies. This is a special property. Thank you!

Our family of 4 had a great stay at the Raspberry Yurt. We particularly loved the respite the Learning Center provided us on a hot day. It was great for kids with a play kitchen, large connect 4, puzzles, markers and paper, white board, chalk for the sidewalks, and different learning boards. The fridge and water jug was a nice, unexpected amenity. Everyone was so accommodating and kind, and we loved shopping at the farm store after a tour. Our kids even played with the livestock manager’s kids (who were the sweetest kids and helped our 4 year old daughter hold a crayfish).

A mid-week getaway to WHF was perfect for me and my two boys! Sam was so accommodating and shared his love for the land, the animals and dreams of the future with us. Glamping in the forest view tent was wonderful. You are surrounded by the forest and secluded from the farm, but also only a couple minute walk from the bathroom / learning center. The farm tour was a great experience, and I loved all the animals! The hiking trails were also nice! You're also about 30 minutes away from Matthiessen and Starved Rock!

We had a great time staying with Sam. He was very helpful and lent us an air mattress pump cause we had forgotten ours. The tour of the farm was very informative and engaging and the yurt was very nicely decorated and kept us all very comfortable. We had fun meeting the animals and playing volleyball in the field. No shortage of things to do. Definitely will return and recommend to others!
