On the surface, Twin Falls looks like any other southern Idaho town. Look closer—tucked into the plains, you’ll find breathtaking canyons, hot springs, and booming waterfalls. Sine all of this natural beauty is off the beaten path, you can enjoy camping without the crowds.

The secret is the Snake River, which has carved a massive canyon in the flatlands around Twin Falls, ID. Take in the view of the spectacular local golf course from the Perrine Memorial Bridge. Be sure to keep an eye out for BASE jumpers making the 486-foot leap. In the spring, watch the mist rise from the massive Shoshone Falls.

You’ll find a few private RV parks and tent camping options in and around Twin Falls. About an hour away, Three Island Crossing State Park offers pull-thru sites with hookups. This Oregon Trail campground overlooks the spot where pioneers once forded the Snake River. Be sure to visit the interpretive site and check out the disc golf course.

East of Twin Falls, Lake Walcott State Park has 40 campsites and 2 cabins. Bring your ATV and ride the trails, or fish for rainbow trout from the shore. About 90 miles away, Bruneau Dunes State Park offers year-round camping. A short walk from camp, hike up 400-foot sand dunes and ride a sandboard back down.
