The stocking is typically scheduled for the first week of June each year, so if you are an angler, it's best to come after June 7th for the best fishing. Swimming in nearby Talache Landing (a.k.a. Talache Beach) on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille is an absolute must-do. There is WiFi at the campsite shelter. We strongly suggest you activate the “Cell over WiFi “ function on your smartphone BEFORE you arrive/lose cell signal so you can access Emergency 911 Services. There is a fire pit (firewood provided), covered shelter, a USFS-style charcoal grill, (bring charcoal and starter), picnic table, benches, bear-proof food storage box and TEMPORARY trash bin. Our winter visit to the Far North was excellent. The cabin was a perfect place to spend time together. We loved the selection of books available to visitors during our stay. It was great to have kitchen equipment and to use it easily. The fireplace kept us nice and cozy on snowy, cold days outside. The Views are stunning, with no one around but our family. It was ‘dry’ camping because of the late season, but that did not stop us from having quality time together. I love that Paul provides firewood. He was great at communication and make us so welcome at his property.

This place is magical! The cabin is adorable and very cozy. There’s little lanterns in the trees which are a great touch at night. The water is super close and the fishing dock is wonderful to sit on while watching sunset. It was so quiet and peaceful. The restroom was super clean and near by. It’s a very well kept and beautiful location.

Beautiful site! I stayed at site A, and it's a cozy, tiny cabin, but the site itself felt like a ton of space. Clean, private, and on the lake! I saw a ton of wildlife too. And it's cheaper than most places would be for what you get. Will be going back sooner than later! Nathaniel was a great host too. My only feedback would be to include signs to the garbage disposal. I tried to find it after dark and got lost even with the map (this may be user error so take it with a grain of salt).

Weekend Trip to Paradise on Mirror Lake

We had a wonderful visit. This is our 2nd visit. The lake has alot of Lilly pads but we went out and went swimming at Lake Pend Orielle and had a great time. The lil cabin is nice to put all of our stuff in so that it doesn't clutter the tent. The burn ban was in effect but we still sat around the fire pit and listened to all the sounds. The frogs were making music. So many turkeys and deer. Such a gorgeous view. Will be back again!

Weekend Trip to Paradise on Mirror Lake

This was the first Hipcamp experience for us and it was a good one. The lake was peaceful and the little cabin so cute. I loved how easy it was to book and the communication and detail on locating the place was great. We lucked out with this tiny gem. When we arrived it was beautiful and sunny but within 20 minutes or so a storm complete with big hail came rolling in. Having the cabin for shelter was nice during the storm even though it was short lived. It was a cozy spot. The touch of having solar lanterns gave it a special touch for the evening. The extras like a cot and sleeping pads was a help. I would recommend this place. Next hopefully we can stay longer to explore more.

We had a really fun time staying in the cabin! It was very cute and had everything we needed. The fire pit / covered picnic table / bench swing area provided a beautiful view of the river and surrounding mountains. My husband was very happy with the trout he caught and the kiddos had a lot of fun playing in the river. Definitely recommend!

Paul has an amazing get away in the perfect location. It's right off the highway, so it has easy access. It is incredibly secluded and shows incredible thought into every aspect. We absolutely loved this place. It was much nicer than we expected. The scenery was amazing. The set up and the new showers were really nice. We visited it while there was no one else there and all of the campground is separated from the cabin side. you feel really secluded there highly recommend this place and we will definitely go back again. The little store in good grief was nice and the people there were really nice. Some nice hikes are very close by all the communication was great with Paul. Thank you very much for sharing your space.

Beautiful spot on the lake. Loved the tent spot and being able to have our dinner right next to the lake with an incredible view. The little cabin was sweet- we appreciated a place to take cover from the bugs at night. Also- we were delighted by the bullfrogs. It is a magical place!

Tucked away in North Idaho, this campground is a true hidden treasure no matter which site you snag! Mirror Lake access and the array of stellar amenities make it a rare find you’ll want to revisit. We’ve camped at Nathaniel’s sites multiple times, and each stay is a breeze thanks to his stellar communication and constant site improvements. From booking to post-trip follow-ups, he’s on point. I goofed and thought I’d reserved two nights, but Nathaniel swooped in with grace, making the fix seamless and stress-free!
