Cool little campground near the city of rocks. Amenities were actually better than advertised as it seems like they just added showers, spot was pretty level. The host accommodated a last minute site switch for me as well so that I could be closer to WiFi while my wife was in Europe, and the concession stand was an added bonus for an easy breakfast. Will definitely be coming back when my wife is able to join!

Nice site very close to the City of Rocks entrance. The first night we were the only ones there and it was peaceful. City of Rocks is amazing we hiked all over. In the afternoon a large rain storm came through so we decided not to stay a second night, instead we headed to our next destination. We would stay again.

A nice quiet and peaceful spot to camp for a few nights. Ross was very responsive, accommodating, and kind. The hot shower was awesome and having power to charge my phone was great; the location is so close to City of Rocks that my phone didn’t have enough time to charge in the car while exploring the area.

Linda was super gracious when I arrived after dark and made sure I had everything I needed. The tent space was far enough away that I felt alone, but not too far. There is some road noise, but it is "close to town!" That said, I was very comfy, slept like a log and woke up refreshed. Also, one of their cats became my pal 😊. Willl stay again when I'm passing thru.

The River Lodge Resort property is just under 4 acres on the river with 200 feet of river frontage. There is a dock for guest use and a shallow area with stairs to it for wading and kayak/Paddleboard launch. There are lifejackets, towels, chairs and tables in the small barn by the river for guest use. Lots of pine trees for tent camping and plenty of gravel area for RV parking. There are two private homes on the property as well (owners and guest house).Learn more about this land:Riverside camping has 200 feet of river frontage. You can camp away from the river’s edge or right by the water, some terrain is sloped. Loose gravel RV parking also available. There is one outdoor, half bathroom (no shower). We have a dock available for guest use. We have three kayaks and two paddle boards available for guest use as well as lifejackets. No lifeguard on duty! There is a designated fire pit by the river. Sunsets are beautiful and mornings are peaceful, afternoons sound like a little bit of a party with all the boats on the water. You definitely get the feeling you’re on vacation here. The Retreat Juniper Tent/Van sites sit at the base of Green's Mountain nestled among the Junipers and Pinion pines. You will stay just outside the entrance to the City of Rocks National Reserve off the road that connects it to Castle Rocks State Park. Enjoy all the fun of camping under the stars with an amazing secluded location at the entrance to the City of Rocks. Enjoy Rock Climbing, Bouldering, Hiking, Biking, Fishing, and Hot Springs, all within a 5 minute drive! The Park is full all summer but you will have your own quiet base camp 2 minutes away.  Sit around the fire pit at night and gaze at the amazing star filled sky. Sites 8, 9, and 10 are all in the same private forested area and great for groups but still separated for plenty of privacy. Each site has a level tent pad, parking area for a car or van (car/van camping ok), and access to potable water, bathrooms, and garbage. We have now added a 15amp plug to each site to provide power for things like phone and laptop charging, air pump, medical devices, or other basics at no charge. Camper vans, or other vehicles that want to plug in to the power will need to pay an additional $5/day electric fee. No EV charging. Parking is allowed right at camp but no vehicles bigger than a van (20ft), and no trailers. No mosquitos here! PET FRIENDLY! This land has been in our family over 100 years. The Retreat has the closest campsites to the City of Rocks.

This spot is large enough for the tallest 5th wheels and your slide outs. - Utilities are $35/night. We do not allow generators. For Tent / Car Camping - - Our primary spot for tent camping is on the front lawn, alongside the house. - We have a 1/2 bathroom with a toilet and sink available We are a private home, not a public RV park or campground, which means we, the owners, live on the property and occasionally work here during the day, including in our shop where the shared half bathroom is located. While this bathroom is a shared amenity, it is not a requirement for us to provide it. We offer several spots for our guests and may host more than one party at a time.
