Breathtaking views! The best bathroom and the kindest host. Something to note is that the site is right by the house if you don’t mind. Overall one of the most beautiful remote site! (Don’t drive down to the lower part of the property like me, volcanic rocks are no joke on an incline)

Lots of flora and fauna to enjoy! Site 4 was fairly private and had a sink, table and toilet shower. Friendly folks living/ working there. Was a peaceful spot for our little family for the night.

Weekend Trip to Jacaranda Ridge
Eddie (and his two awesome and friendly dogs!) was very welcoming and a great host - it's the little things that make a great stay. The cabin was basic, but comfortable enough and met out needs. Overall would recommend.

I loved staying at Campsite #4! There's a shelter above you, plus a picnic table and a chair on the site. The property has 2 toilets and 2 showers, and an open air kitchen. The property has lots of flowers and fruit trees, as well as the orchids. There is also a resident dog and a few cats. The animals are all awesome. The people are good too, especially the owner, George. Town is about a mile down the road, so it's off the beaten path but still convenient.

Nice and quiet place. In the kitchen you have everything to cook. The tent site was covered so in case of rain you are dry and safe. There is also a drinking water from the tap which is advantage. We love the dog and cats there. 😊

Eddie’s place rocks! Giant lava rock mountains everywhere. He has a spot for RVs and vans to park and sleep—it looks out over the ocean. It’s so quiet here and there’s a lot to take in. We had an especially interesting stay since it was the evening of a tsunami warning. Eddie reassured us we were safe at 1400 feet and let us borrow his binoculars :) nice bathroom, two sweet dogs, just a really great evening exploring the lava terrain and looking out at the island below. Cool rainbow eucalyptus in the driveway! Eddie’s place forever!

A charming place. We were welcome to site warmly by Dwayne who has shown us everything, offered fresh fruit and veggies, chatted. We were grateful for a canopy over our tents as it was raining in the night and one of our tents wasn’t waterproof. The farm was cool to see, with orchids and other plants. Friendly dog and cats on site. Hot shower and well made, user friendly outhouse. We will definitely remember this place for our future visits to Big Island. Thank you George and Dwayne.

2 nights at Jacaranda Ridge
I had a fantastic two-night stay in the “SHE” shed, which featured a cool mood lighting! The area was incredibly peaceful for sleeping, and the cabin had an amazing cross breeze that ensured a comfortable night's rest. While there is air conditioning, it wasn't necessary. The views were spectacular, with beautiful sunrises, sunsets, and great opportunities for stargazing. Eddie was very accommodating; he even built a fire for me so I could make s'mores! His dogs, Coco and Ocho, were incredibly sweet—Coco kept watch outside my door all night. The shower offered hot water, and having a flushing toilet was definitely a plus. Eddie is knowledgeable about the area and can guide you in the right direction, no matter what journey you're on! I would definitely stay again. Thanks!

Eddie’s place worked out great for us in our rented campervan. Had a nice flat spot for us to park, just a few steps away from a clean toilet & hot shower. Views from our spot were great. A little vog hazy with eruptions going on, but could still see South Point. Great sunset! Eddie and his pups were super friendly and welcoming. Good dude! Would definitely stay here again.

Thanks Eddie for your warm welcome and easy stay. The directions were solid. The shower, toilet, flat spot to camp were simple and appreciated as we were biking around the island. What a view! Beautiful warm winds, endless ocean and sky. Eddie made us a coffee in the morning and shared lovely conversations while packing up our bikes. He even offered to give us a ride back up to the highway. The 2 dogs Coco and Ocho are super cuties. Much Mahalo Eddie!

Kailua-Kona Coast
=The Big Island’s Gold Coast stretches along the west shore, fringed with sandy beaches and colorful coral reefs. Seaside campers will find plenty of ways to get on the water, whether swimming and snorkeling at Kahalu'u Beach Park, paddling around Kealakekua Bay in a kayak, or setting sail on a whale or dolphin-watching cruise. Back on land, take a tour of a Kona coffee plantation and pay a visit to the Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park.
Kohala
Rugged lava fields meet golden beaches and pastoral farmlands in Kohala at the island’s northwestern tip, where you’ll also find some of Hawaii’s most luxurious resorts, spas, and restaurants. Swing by the regional capital Waimea, where you can saddle up for a horseback ride with a paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy), admire the views from the Pololu Valley Lookout, then rent an A-frame at Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area.
Hilo & Hamakua Coast
Black-sand beaches, waterfalls, and tropical fruit plantations provide plenty of photo fodder along the eastern Hamakua Coast. Drive the Hamakua Heritage Corridor from Hilo all the way to the Waipio Valley Lookout, stopping along the way to see Akaka Falls and Kahuna Falls before settling into camp.
South Hawaii
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is the headline act of the south, where still-smoking lava fields surround two of the world's most active volcanoes, and hikers can choose from two national park campgrounds or rent a cabin. There are more lava-sculpted landscapes in nearby Puna, where camping options include treehouses and jungle campsites. Don’t miss Lava Tree State Park, the green-colored sands at Papakolea Beach, or the black-sand Punalu’u Beach.
