Communitowhee (or Towhee) Farm is the rebirth of a retired, 19th century tenement estate located in the Mvskoke Indian territory of Milledgeville, GA. The land is divided into a working, 40+ acre pine forest and a 1-acre tract envisioned as an organic produce farm.
On the 1-acre tract, in the pecan grove next to the tiny home where you'll be staying, there is 120v electrical as well as a water hookup. We also have tiki torches and a fire pit for spending time around the fire in the evening.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY! All fires must be contained inside the designated hubcap chiminea. Do not attempt to build any fires outside of this container. All fires must be fully extinguished when unattended.
We welcome you to join us for an evening or a few on our homestead!
The microfarm is complete with D.I.Y. designs; fruit trees, raised beds, composting bins, a bat house, water-catchment barrels, a fruit/vegetable sun-dryer, and a 11-by-40-foot greenhouse. It's our home and humble work in progress community vision. Currently in residence are our domestic and farm cats, some of whom you may meet during your stay.
Every step of Communitowhee’s growth has been taken with deep thought and consideration for the health and history of its land. Each infrastructure design has been and will continue to be built from sustainable, up and recycled materials to minimize environmental impact. And, whether it be converting a traditional garden bed into a self-irrigating wicking bed or figuring out how to affix new tires to an antique Radio Flyer wagon — every project has been achieved through grit, trial-and-error, tons of YouTube videos, and the inherited instincts of many centuries of farming ancestors.
During the growing season you might find:

Stephen was a great host and the property is very nice. If you are tent camping you have some tables, chairs, a fire pit, and lots of flat easy to pitch space.
A bathroom, water, shower and cats are available as well. Be aware there is a road nearby so there is a bit of road noise.

Scott was incredibly nice guy. Love what he is building at the Golden Goose. Living the dream! Showers and toilets are built ans is the party shed and they may not yet show on his page. This was just a “passing through” trip for us and he is a little off the beaten path but worth the few minutes to get there. Maybe 20 minutes from the Buc-ees at Warner Robbins so you’ve got everything….and a beautiful drive to get there!!

This is a calm, retrospective and moving forward lighter than you came kinda place. If you're lucky, Shawn will give you a tour. Convenient to Perry and 75. Morning by morning is the best coffee shop. Mini rush between 8-9 then it drops off.

The host, Scott, is very attentive and responsive. Allowing us to book late in the day for a stopover. It’s an RV park in development (about 8 sites were in use) and you can see he’s invested in building long term clientele. The pads are quite long and currently, back ins. A very welcoming lighted pavilion had been built.

This was a great place to stay. We had privacy, plenty of space, and a beautiful setting. My great-niece and nephew thoroughly enjoyed the tire swings. It was nice to be where our dogs were welcome. I hope to stay again.
