Hiking here is stunning a vibrant green and well worth as long a wander as your legs will carry you. 

Rent a canoe with a friend and paddle the two hours to the wild man trapper site. Watch for manatees playing in the waterways.

Taste of Old Florida

A small but unique piece of land that was given to a family in the 1920s by the Florida Railroad Company. It stayed in the family until we purchased it. It is unique because the surrounding area does not have much tree coverage. This is

due to the ground underneath, which is a vein of grey marl. This is why the area is called the Allapattah (an Indian word for Alligator) Flats.

We are hoping that our county stays the way it is so people will know what Old Florida really looks like.

Minutes from I-95, but surrounded by the Allapattah Flats Wildlife Management Preserve. Located on Martin Hwy, which was recently designated as a Florida Scenic Hwy. Fifteen minutes to Stuart and thirty minutes to West Palm Beach, a world away from the hustle and bustle.

We realize that people also love Florida for Disney and tropical paradises but if that is what you want then this may not be your kind of place.

Depending on the season and availability we may have local honey and/or firewood available for purchase. 

Plenty of Parking area for a horse trailer available

Taking a hike in the Allapattah Flats, where you also can ride your horse! 

This is a picture of the front of the barn, hot and cold water hose available for horse and people baths! Stalls have self watering buckets. Bring your own shavings and food.

If your into biking Allapattah Flats is the place to go.

ASHBY ACRES FARM

100 acres of Florida land. 20 acres of primitive camping and the rest is a working farm with horses and cows. Arena, lodge, bathrooms, and lots of green grass. Lodge may be closed at times, for private functions

Stalls are available upon request. 

 NO SMALL CHILDREN. 10 YRS AND OVER.

CHILDREN MUST BE SUPERVISED BY AN ADULT AT ALL TIMES.

PLEASE DO NOT START A CAMP FIRE BEFORE CHECKING WITH MANAGMENT.

IF YOU USE THE LODGE, PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELVES AND TURN OFF LIGHTS.

DOGS MUST BE ON A LEASH. NO DOGS AROUND THE LODGE, BARNS OR THE HORSES.

DO NOT FEED HORSES ANYTHING.

The main lodge has a really cool back porch area. Scenic and comfortable.

Mini horse! Affectionately referred to as Tina Turner. (I kept calling her David Bowie...)

Inside the lodge. We were also told that in the event of rain, it'd be ok to sleep up on that upper area. Also below, full kitchen available!

Welcome to serenity with the convenience of the city! We are not a commercial campground.  We live on site in our home with our 2 dogs and 2 adorable mini ponies. Our three back-in camper sites are located behind our home under the shade of coconut and mango trees or by our barn, with a separate driveway and turnaround large enough for even the biggest fifth wheel trailers.  The 50 amp RV outlets and city water hookups are at each site for convenience, with 30 amp adaptors available if needed.  Gray water can be emptied on site, black water must be pumped (contact info for local service providers available).  We live on a quiet street with a large park directly across the street featuring walking trails, equestrian trails, sports fields, and playground equipment, and only 5 minutes from numerous grocery stores, restaurants and other conveniences.  5 minutes from Wellington, Lion Country Safari, and Royal Palm Beach.  25 minutes from the beach and 30 minutes from Lake Okeechobee, less than 1 hour to Fort Lauderdale and 1 hr 15 min to Miami.  An ideal location when visiting South Florida!
