It's official -- after 4 years of politics we are officially a park and a preserve.....9 acres of 🚶‍♂️ trails 👣 we are still constructing trails by hand I believe this place has a spiritual strength to people of all nations History of our location Count De Galvez awarded a land grant on Garcon Point to Antonio Garzon following his 1781 Siege of Pensacola in consideration of “his good services rendered as an interpreter to the Indians of Pensacola." The grant was held for 35 years before Maria Garzon, who survived husband Antonio, sold the land they called Garzon’s Point to Joseph (Jose) Bonifay. The land uses were favorable for cattle grazing and turpentining through the 1800s. Many more pioneer families moved into the area and began their own business in the booming industrial opportunities of western Florida. It came to be known as Yellow River Marsh State Buffer Preserve on June 12, 2000, when it was purchased by the state of Florida to protect rare and environmentally sensitive lands, plants and animals. Through generous donations, Preservation 2000 and the Florida Forever Program, more land was added to protect contiguous habitat of the Garcon Ecosystem. Today Yellow River Marsh Preserve State Park provides recreational opportunities for hiking and nature study along the Great Florida Birding Trail among rare and endemic plant species and within one of Florida’s oldest multi-cultural frontiers.The preserve is located in Santa Rosa County on Garcon Point, which separates Escambia Bay from Blackwater Bay. Nearly 20 rare and endangered species of plants 🪴 and animals make their homes along the bay and its wet prairies, dome swamps and flatwoods.

We have two primitive campsites These campsites are first come first serve, they are not assigned when booking. Our Glamper tent is a 10x12 canvas furnished full size bed with bedding, pillows and enough floor space for two sleeping bags. The tents are located off a short trial, but rugged 2-minute hike from the parking area. We provide the opportunity to go camping without having to pack the tent. Closed toed shoes are highly suggested as well as plenty of lighting with batteries or solar charging capability. This is a rugged, fun and serene camping experience. Located less than 10 mins to Navarre Beach, - 30 mins to Pensacola Beach, - 15 mins to Naval Live Oaks, - 45 mins to Fort Pickens, - 50 mins to NAS Pensacola, - 45 mins to Santa Rosa Island, - 35 mins to Okaloosa Island, - 40 mins to Destin. Come camp in the woods right off the Perdido River. There is a short walk to the cabin, either along boardwalks or via a trail, and we provide carts to make it easy. Across the floating bridge is a sandbar where you can hang out with other river rats and enjoy a cold one. The Perdido River is known for great tubing and kayaking. We have tubes available to loan. A float from Fillingim’s Landing to our sandbar takes about four hours with stops. If you’re looking for an all-day adventure, you can put in at Barrineau Park Bridge. We are 420-friendly, and if you want to enjoy a beer, we’ll probably join you. There is a large outdoor fire pit and grills available for use. I also have camping hammocks that can be set up for extra guests, as well as a camping toilet. All I ask is that you clean up after yourselves, bring all trash up front to the garbage cans, and keep the volume down by 10:00 p.m.

Well thought out campground, nice kitchen and bathhouse. We had fun exploring the trails and hanging out on the beach. The yurt was very comfortable. You can tell Amanda puts a lot of pride and care into her space.

1 night at East Bay Family Retreat

I try to make it a routine to go camping with my son every time I visit him. This campsite has everything I could ask for: courteous owners, easy to follow instructions, wonderful set up at the campsite and easy access to a beach. He had an absolute blast, helping me build, and maintain a fire, walk around the entire campsite, and many hours well spent in the water. I’ll be visiting this campsite again.

Weekend Trip to East Bay Family Retreat

What a beautiful property within a short drive of where we live. I really enjoyed spending the day out by their bay front. Having access to kayaks was a special treat, because I’ve never kayaked before. The glamper tent was spacious, clean, and comfortable. There was also plenty of space between the 2 glamper sites to give some privacy. It was also a special treat to enjoy the wildlife. We enjoyed watching the Royal Terns diving into the water for fish, and the mullet jumping out of the water. I had the special privilege of seeing a rabbit stop on the trail and stand in front of me for a solid 30 seconds. At night, fireflies flashed around the tree line. We heard a whippoorwill off in the distance, another amazing treat. Definitely saving this campsite as a go-to weekend getaway. What you get vs the low cost of their glamper sites is unbeatable. The Florida panhandle is so full of beauty in its nature. It’s amazing that there’s still a chunk of natural Florida left in Navarre, and the hosts are so willing to share it with others.

This glamping tent on East Bay in Navarre was everything we hoped for and more. The listing was completely accurate—the space was clean, cozy, and well-maintained. And the Bay was just a short walk from the campsite. It felt like the perfect mix of camping and comfort. We also appreciated how reasonably priced it was compared to similar stays. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing escape, this is definitely the place. Highly recommend!

The Wandering Path is an amazing and peaceful getaway. The yurts offer the perfect setup for any season and eliminates a lot of packing. Amanda’s property has everything you need…the cleanest bathhouse I have yet to see and an awesome communal outdoor kitchen. There are primitive sites as well. The creek that runs along the property is crystal clear water with white sand banks throughout. It is deep enough to kayak or shallow enough to walk in and enjoy. The Wandering Path is the ultimate getaway location!

We loved everything about the cabin and it was an amazing escape into nature! We loved exploring the area and had zero issues with everything! We will absolutely be adding this to our lists of places to re-visit!

Very unique experience! I love the color pink and there was lots of it in the dome to enjoy. The round windows was great to sit in and the skylight was cool! I wasn't too sure about the eco- toilet at first, but it wasn't so bad and easy to operate. Very quiet and serene area yet only 15 minutes from restaurants and stores in the nearby cities. Good vibes here!

Wandering path was pleasant, clean and located on a refreshing spring fed river. We really enjoyed that it was remote and we could have a nice get away from the city. The outdoor kitchen was a great asset!

I had an absolute blast at this HipCamp. Joseph was super friendly, and the property is a great place for a mental reset. I stayed in the glamping tent which was extremely reasonable. You are provided running water, there’s a bathhouse available (shower, washer and dryer.) There are trails you can walk featuring lush vegetation. I will be back soon for a multi day stay!
