Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing are fun low cost family activities with plenty of terrain to enjoy. Great Sand Dunes National Park is open all year long and is a day trip from South Fork. Enjoy the Sand Dunes National Park, learn how they were formed, hike a dune and try sand boarding. Zapata Falls is a short hike near the Sand Dunes. Terrific! The spot is 10 minutes from Durango and far enough from the owners home that it felt private. And there are endless acres of forest for the dogs to explore. We had no problem accessing the site in our rwd Ford Transit. Verizon signal was adequate. Tree coverage made starlink useless.

Great place to stay. The location along the Rio Blanco is serene. The owner, Rich, couldn't have been more accommodating. And the stars Thursday night were jaw dropping. We plan on returning.

We loved staying on Melinda's land! It was pouring rain from a freak storm and she generously allowed us to use her mudroom and her addition downstairs. Genuinely, she saved our trip. She had great recommendations on things to do in the area and was available and communicative. I could not ask for a better host,

Beautiful spot in the hills above Durango! Directions were clear, site was level, firepit and utilities all as advertised. We drove a 2 WD Ram Class B and had no issues accessing. Will stay here again when we are in Durango next. :)

Very convenient from Durango, and along a great route to Bayfield. Gravel road with switchbacks - fine with a 21' camper van, just take it slow. Wooded lot. Fairly private RV pad, past the house. Friendly resident dogs. Elect and water at site, dump access near house.

Rich was kind and accommodating! The camp was clean and felt close to nature, and fairy close to both Pagosa and Chama. We will certainly keep this on our list of places to stay in So Colorado!

We really enjoyed the beautiful grounds the hospitality and the location was perfect for what we were doing in Pagosa. The only issue I had was there’s only one shower one bathroom for a lot of peopl. I would definitely go there again. It’s a little pricey, but worth the money. Oh by the way, make sure you bring money for the shower. Lol

Weekend Trip to The Last Resort on the River

We arrived late and checked out early. A quick overnight on our journey. So we didn’t get a chance to experience everything. I can say the host was wonderful. Walked us to our site. Explained everything about the grounds. They seem to have everything you could need. We backed our van to within 15 feet of a running creek. Nice. Beautiful location, not far from Pagosa Springs (10 miles ish). Would definitely return when in the area. Thanks!

Michael's property was amazing. Quiet, in the woods, on top of a big hill, yet fairly close to town with a great view of the surrounding hills. He was very helpful and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Durango.
