A great base camp access to the Sand Dunes,Mt Lindsey, and Blanca Basin. Great biking around the camp.Close to the Huerfano River with a secret spot and trout fishing.We have nice level r.v. or tent sites in valley farm / old.orchard setting with mountain views ,electricity and well water. These Beautiful Mountain camping spots are only 1 hr 56 min south of Colorado Springs. Located at the foot of Sheep Mountain and little Sheep Mountain in Gardner, CO Hike and explore this beautiful 35 acres property. There are ATV trails through out the area, So bring your ATVs and ride the miles of mountain roads. Bring your RV, camper, tent or truck and set up camp on one of our four designated camping spots on the property. There are many great level areas to choose from on your camping site. Enjoy the night sky next to your fire pit and see every star in the sky with no lights to be seen. If you need to run your generator... No problem. (You can run your generator from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm). This quite very secluded mountain property is the perfect get-a-way form all the lights and noise from every day city living. Lathrop State Park is a Colorado state park located 3 miles west of Walsenburg. The state purchased the property in 1962 and opened Colorado's first state park here later that same year. Please be advise that trucks and four-wheel vehicles will have a much easier time navigating these roads. Other vehicles may need to slow down and take it easy through some potentially rough areas. Located near the base of Mt. Blanca, a beautiful 14'er - and close to the Great Sand Dunes, wildlife and nature preserves, and reservoirs. Camp sites are located just 1 mile from the base of the mountain. The entire property is a hummingbird sanctuary, so your chances of seeing hummingbirds is quite high! We are also next to the elk migration crossing, so you could see elk, deer, pronghorns, or even get a visit from one of the wild horse packs in the valley! This is a great location if you want to be close to things, but feel like you're far away! Lots of athletes come to this area to train at the higher altitude! Visit the town of San Luis (the oldest town in Colorado), hop over to Antonito and check out the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic railroad, hit the UFO tower in Hooper, or just lounge on your campsite and get the best view of the Milky Way you've ever seen! Wifi available if you have a device that can connect at long range! Firewood, Fresh Baked Bread, Jams and other farm goodies available on site! The orchard site was perfect and secluded. I was car camping with my dog, and we had a cozy evening by the fire, under a sky lit up with stars. Having the toilet nearby was convenient, especially with how cold it was the night we were there. We walked over to watch the horses in the morning and enjoy the views. I would stay there again!

We brought out wolf pup 16bhsbl travel trailer out to camps the site is huge with plenty of space for 2-3 other families. The directions were easy to follow, however there was one sign that was missing as per the written instructions. One of our party members missed the gate because of the missing sign. The entrance to the camp sign was a little rutted out and you should feel comfortable off roading with a trailer.

this was an awesome spot! i don’t think there were any other campers when we went so it felt like we truly had the whole place to ourselves! the mountain view was absolutely incredible, and the open night sky was spectacular to see! our dogs absolutely loved it, didn’t want to leave! temperature was great, didn’t need electric hookups. was a little windy, but nothing some bungee cables couldn’t fix! the host was also very kind and detailed with instructions, and allowed an early check in. overall this was spot was awesome and i would highly recommend!

This was a perfect stopover on our way to Great Sand Dunes National Park! The camp was very well maintained and the directions were easy to follow. We were treated to an unbelievable sunset, a gorgeous starry night, and stellar views to wake up to. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

I loved how secluded and quiet the property was without being too far from home. The directions were a bit hard as the rocks painted white blend in when the sun hits them (there is a red dirt road with white rocks outlining it and this is the property immediately after that one). I thought the tent sites were a bit more spread out, but they are all close to each other, so its perfect for large groups renting all 3 spaces. We got lucky and we're the only ones that booked it over the weekend and had a very peaceful and empty site. We definitely will keep this site as a go-to for future camping trips! The host was also accommodating and generous about our trip.

What an incredibly beautiful location. The directions for very easy to follow and the landmarks to follow easy to spot. The camp site itself was huge, with plenty of trails and dry river beds to follow around. We spent hours wandering looking at rocks, track marks from various animals and the different kinds of vegetation. So much cacti. We saw deer, wild turkeys, and the great wild cow on the ranch next to us. Michael was so easy to communicate with and pleasant to talk to you. We genuinely cannot wait to return and bring our friends for a big family trip.

4 nights at Secluded Mountain Property

Dry Creek was a great location for our purposes. Very secluded and quiet. We stayed 5 days and really enjoyed the freedom. Two notes: only hilltop has picnic tables, dry creek does not. i didn’t need one but i was looking for one thinking that would help me find the location. I would caution potential campers that the directions can be a little confusing. The first set of white rocks in the directions were not obvious (potentially my fault for looking too low) they are just before the turn as mentioned but it is a string of rocks at eye level on the right not a pile and not on the road. Secondly after taking that right and going up (it is much less tuna .3 miles) there is a split, go right! then another split where you will see the cable on your right (white rocks definitely obvious here). After that it’s easy but i got turned around convinced i was on the wrong property. Hope the additional directions are helpful to someone else. Again, the site was great once we got there so don’t let the directions dissuade you.

Loved this campground! Very quiet and the ground to pitch my tent on was supple. It's situated well away from lights so the stargazing was great here. David was also a pleasant surprise during our stay. There's also a field with cows next to the grounds as well. They will come to you if you approach the fence.
